LETTER FROM
the Editors
There is no denying that this year has been stressful. Teachers had to regain the ability to make lesson plans every day and students had to relearn how to gain new knowledge. Another issue I know a lot of people faced this year was being so out of the loop with attending every day consecutively without rest except on the weekends. We just want to acknowledge the effort that went into making this year go as smoothly as it did and congratulate everyone on their great efforts. We are dedicating the last edition of The Crystal for the 20212022 school year to the seniors whose time here is coming to an end. We’re going over everything from a favorite relationships you’ve made, best moments, college commitments, friend glow-ups, tips for underclassmen and secret confessions. There will be something for everyone. Find out all the tips tricks and secrets hard-earned by the Class of 2022 through their schooling career. It is super close to summer so to all of the students reading this, hang in there! You can do it! Try to behave for your teachers because they want to get out of here just as badly as you do! We have had a fantastic time providing you with the latest information this year and can’t wait to pick it up again right away in the fall. The staff of The Crystal wants all the seniors to remember that it isn’t the end; it’s just the beginning. Good luck with all of your future endeavors and don’t give up! NO ‘CAP’: After senior breakfast, the Class of 2022 takes home a yard sign reading “Lakeview Centennial Senior” as well as their caps and gowns. Student government officials and administrators came to an agreement at the beginning of the year to let seniors decorate their graduation caps for the first time. “Being able to decorate our caps was very important to me because our class had been through so much in the past few years,” Senior Class President Graci Darland said. “We are teh only class left who has had a full year of high school, and then had it taken away. Expressing ourselves in a creatively is a way to show who we are as we take the next steps in our lives.”

Seniors’ Most Enjoyed Classes “English 12 with Cupp because he was such an impact in my thinking on everything about society. He made everything in that class fun, engaging with us, learning more and more about other things.” - Than Cung
“AP government with Zimm because the atmosphere is unmatched. I get the privilege to walk into that class every morning and be excited for all Zimm and my peers have to offer. Usually peop photography, I love how much freedom you get and how you can mostly use your own ideas for the different projects, in advanced the flower project was really fun and you learned more advanced ways on how to take pictures le aren’t excited for their first block, but this class is always a fantastic start to my day.” -Aryana Banerji
“Lane Gordon’s 10th grade English and Miss McLaughlin 11th grade English, these classes actually taught me real world things that students should know about the Holocaust and the racial problems in the worlds history and most importantly how they are wrong. Mr. Gordon’s one of the best teachers the school has and my reason for saying that is unlike most teachers he genuinely cares about your mental health and connects with you as a person. He doesn’t just give knowledge and expect you to use it on a quiz or test he actually makes sure you understand why and what you’re doing.” - Caleb Richardson
“Manufacturing it’s helping me achieve my goals and it’s nice to learn here at school how to weld and how to continue to get better at it.” - Blake Danku
”4th Hour, Computer Graphics 3 & 4. With freedom behind a computer, I had quite a lot of time to think about what I wanted to do. All that time to think made me decide that doing something along the lines of 3D modeling and or animation is my strong suit, and I should pursue something related to digital graphic design as a career. I can conclude that this class was one of the most enjoyable ones, and it was a blast sticking around in.” - Kolten Gibson
“The class I enjoyed the most in high school was biology. I took it my freshman year and had Mrs. Norris as my teacher. I liked learning some of the content, like stuff dealing with DNA, and she made information easy to understand.” -Trista Brainard “Marching band was a class I looked forward to just about every day. Music is my greatest passion, and when you combine that with physical activity, I enjoy it even more. I had lots of fun memories of that class and grew really close to the band. I also got to learn a new instrument!” Zachary Brooks

“Photography, I love how much freedom you get and how you can mostly use your own ideas for the different projects, in advanced the flower project was really fun and you learned more advanced ways on how to take pictures.” -Megan Carmichael “I looked forward to all of my business classes because they are so helpful in life regardless of what you choose to go into as a profession. They do a great job at preparing you for the real world and help you to make so many connections with other students.” -Hannah Diesel
“I really enjoyed sociology and principles of biomedical sciences. Sociology has really good content and fun assignments. The content makes you very interested in what you’re learning and gets you to connect and understand your peers. Principles of biomedical sciences is a class where you have a great opportunity to expand your interest in science. You get to do a bunch of cool labs and you get to learn about things you would be actually interested in.” - Alexa Morey
“Advanced Marketing - Having the class for two years definitely helped. We built a strong community built and led by the students. At the core was Mrs. Bost... she was always there for us and pushed us every single day to be the best version of ourselves. She always knew what we were capable of, even when we didn’t know ourselves.” - Dennis McMann
“I looked forward to woodworking everyday because I loved to see how My projects were coming along and seeing what new ideas I could make.” -Raenah Dzioba

and Class Recommendations ELISE SEGAL, REPORTER
“AP Calculus or AP Physics - They are hard, and not fun in the moment, but I believe it's necessary to take at least one to start adjusting to how school/life will be as you get older.” -Thomas Genier
”Psychology only because Ms. Hindenach made me want to come to school every day, she’s literally the school mom . Psychology, not only do you have great teachers, but you get to explore more and more everyday, probably on the easier side of AP classes so it can always help your GPA if you work hard enough, and it’s just an overall fun class.” - Triston Blaylock

“I would recommend art to everyone. I know art seems very intimidating at first, because not everyone sees themselves as being creative enough. However, art class is just such a good break from the rest of your school work, and each art teacher gives great advice for you to improve. The environment in an art class is like no other class, everyone deserves some relaxation.” - Carmen Anderson
“Yearbook if you like talking to people and going to sport events, if you like writing then you can write stories about students in the school. Also if you are into Photography this would also be a great opportunity to take pictures at sporting events.” - Emma Courter ”I think every student should do dual enrollment classes.” - Camryn Truex ”Take an elective that you enjoy whether that’s art, music, theater, ect. and stick with it throughout high school, it’s going to be a class that you look forward to and gives you easy credits.” - Alexis Rae
”I’d honestly recommend students to take any class that sounds interesting to them so they can have an idea of what it’s like and know if they maybe want to go into that. For example, taking choir might mean going into music later in life.” - Rosy Lun Zuun
”Algebra 2 with Mrs. McGlynn, not because of the contents but just because Mrs.McGlynn always makes sure you’re set and where you need to be, she puts so much effort into her students and I appreciate that forever.” - Lily Ludwick
”This is a tough one, but I think AP Government with Mr. Zimmerman. I have yet to meet a more understanding, compassionate, and wonderful teacher. He is so special and a huge asset to Lakeview. If he didn’t teach that class, it would’ve been a dreadful senior year. Outside of Mr. Zimmerman’s first block AP Government class, I loved Mr. Frantz’s AP Language and Composition class. I was a freshman when I took the course, and the seniors made the class unlike any other. I became life-long friends with people from that class, and Mr. Frantz’s teaching is always amazing!” - Chigo Manu
“If you took music class in middle school, I recommended Band or Choir or Orchestra but if not, I would recommend computer programming. It was fun and Ms. Cover is a good teacher.” - Chifumi Tsukagoshi ”Surviving on Your Own because it teaches basic things you need to know in adulthood such as taxes and credit. Much more needed than other classes.” - Trevor Belt “I think that everyone should take surviving on your own, It might not what you want to take, but it's a great resource and has tons of good information.” -Bryce Champion

“Choir, it was an awesome experience to try and I really enjoyed it every day all four years of high school. It was nice to have a class that I knew was going to have people I knew in and have a great teacher consistently. There were a lot of challenges during Covid but Mr. Black made it fun.” -Brendan Jones
“A class I would recommend to every student would have to be any class at the CACC!” -Makenly Keller
“I would personally recommend Theater Arts. Since at first I was nervous but quickly started to enjoy the class because I knew Theater people there and they helped me get over some nerves.” -Alex Nowicki
“You should take at least one class you either really like or find super easy so you don't become absolutely fed up with everything all together.” -Landon Zemke THE CRYSTAL CLASS OF 2022
