ABOUT US The Daily Aztec is San Diego State University’s most trusted news source and their only independent student-run and operated newspaper and publication. It was established in 1913 and has continued to publish content throughout the pandemic. We strive to provide our readers with the information they need to be informed and engaged members of the San Diego State community, keeping those in power in check while amplifying student voices. We also provide content to enhance every part of our audience’s lifestyles through entertainment coverage and starting the conversation about topics relevant to our readers through editorial and opinion pieces. We publish daily online and print a weekly publication with five regular sections: News, Opinions, Arts and Culture, Sports and Mundo Azteca (Spanish).
