Like puzzles? Then you’ll love sudoku. This mindbending puzzle will have you hooked from the moment you square off, so sharpen your pencil and put your sudoku savvy to the test!
Here’s How It Works: Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle!

October is Mental Health Month. As we head into fall with family gatherings, the changing clock, shorter days, and an array of festivities, be sure to check in with your mental health and limit the use of substances along the way. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you. Council on Alcoholism and Addictions

Self-Care for Mental Health What Can You Do When Life Feels Hard?
Remember that alcohol and other substances are not long-term solutions— in fact, they may make mental health issues more difficult. Try talking to a trusted friend, loved one, doctor, or LEAF employee if you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed. LEAF staff members can listen without judgment and point you in the right direction for help.
Studies Show Mental Health and Substance Use Are Related. Source: nida.nih.gov According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, over 60 percent of young people in their study had both a mental illness and a substance use disorder. Be aware of your own mental health— and remember that alcohol and other substances often make mental illness more challenging.
There are many ways to boost your mood without the use of alcohol or substances. A few of these include:
Regular exercise
Eating a balanced diet
Prioritizing sleep
Practicing gratitude
Staying hydrated
Staying connected to others
Drugs and Alcohol Aren’t Solutions to Depression. Depression or anxiety can seem inescapable, but using alcohol or other substances to cope can make matters worse. Talk to your doctor about mental health challenges— it will help keep your body and mind healthy.
Reach Out to a Friend Who Needs Help.
If you are concerned about someone in your life, it may help them to hear from you—especially if that person may be dealing with substance use. Scan the QR code for ways to discuss this:
Recognize the Signs of Depression. Depression can have many difficult side effects that can put a person at risk of using alcohol or other substances to cope. Talk to your doctor if you think you may be at risk. Learn more:
