Who’s Opening and Where Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) plans to open Walmart Supercenter stores at the intersection of RM 1431 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Cedar Park, TX; at the intersection of U.S. Highway 290 and Saratoga Farms Boulevard in Elgin, TX, and at the intersection of U.S. Highway 290 and FM 973 in Manor, TX, as well as a location in Kyle, TX. Each unit will be approximately 150,000 sq.ft. The Kyle, Elgin and Manor stores will be the company’s first in the cities. Construction on the Elgin store is slated to begin during the middle of summer with an opening projected for summer 2013, and construction on the Manor store is slated to begin during the fall with an opening projected for fall 2013. Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. Planned openings include an 1,800 sq.ft. location at Kalamazoo Crossings, located along South Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo. Construction on the store began this month with an opening projected for early June. The location will join Qdoba Mexican Grill, MetroPCS and Jimmy John’s at the center. The company currently operates 9,700 locations nationwide and internationally throughout 31 countries. Trader Joe’s Co. (626-599-3700) is in the approval phase of opening a Trader Joe’s grocery store at Underwood Crossing, a development situated on 20 acres along West Blue Mound Road in Brookfield, WI. The store would be the company’s third in the state and would join Target at the center. If approved, the location is slated to open during the fall. The company currently operates more than 350 locations throughout 31 states nationwide. Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. (585-3282550) plans to open a 70,000 sq.ft. Wegmans grocery store in a former Omni Foods at Chestnut Hill Square, a 160,000 sq.ft. retail development located in Newton, MA. The opening will be the company’s third in the state and is slated to open during 2013. Calhoun Enterprises (334-272-4400) plans to open four Calhoun Foods grocery stores throughout Birmingham, AL during the next several years, with the first two locations slated to open during 2012. Planned locations include a store in Pratt City, which will be the first of the four sites to open. Covington Foods, Inc. The store will be the company’s second in the city and its 29th in the state, and is slated to open during early summer.
