Who’s Opening and Where Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) plans to open more than 12 stores throughout Dallas, TX, including more than three locations in southern Dallas. The planned stores will include Walmart Neighborhood Market, Sam’s Club and Walmart Supercenter locations. Potential openings include a 180,000 sq.ft. Walmart Supercenter at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Ledbetter Road, a Walmart Neighborhood Market near the intersection of South Buckner and Scyene Road in the Pleasant Grove area of the city, and a Walmart Neighborhood Market located near the intersection of North Hampton Road and Ft. Worth Avenue in the Oak Cliff area.

The company also plans to open a Sam’s Club location at the intersection of Webb Chapel and Northwest Highway, which will replace an existing Sam’s Club location west of Interstate 35 in the city. The company will also open a Walmart Supercenter in a former Walmart located at the intersection of Central Expressway and Midpark. The openings will more than double the company’s store count in the city.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-477-4455) plans to open a 35,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market at The Vineyard, located in San Antonio, TX. The store is slated to open during 2012 or early 2013 and will join SuperTarget at the center. The company currently operates more than 300 locations nationwide and throughout Canada and the United Kingdom.

Bill the Butcher, Inc. (480-231-9929) plans to open 14 Bill the Butcher stores nationwide during the year as part of a plan to operate as many as 125 stores within the coming four to five years. The company is considering locations in San Francisco, Berkley and Palo Alto, CA, and plans to enter into other states along the western coast of the U.S., as well as TX. Care-A-Lot Pet Supply (800-343-7680) will open a 20,000 sq.ft. store on 2.3 acres along Indian River Road between Centerville Turnpike and Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach, VA. The location will be the company’s third in the Hampton Roads area and is slated to open during the fall. The company also plans to open another store within the coming two years.
