Who’s Opening and Where Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) plans to open a Walmart Supercenter at Clovis and Herndon, a center under development in Clovis, CA. The store is slated to open during January of next year. HomeGoods, Old Navy, dressbarn, Petco and Dick’s Sporting Goods also plan to open stores at the center. The company also plans to open a 146,002 sq.ft. Walmart Supercenter along State Road in Dartmouth, MA. The store, which will feature wider aisles and a full-service grocery department, will replace an existing, smaller Walmart store at the site and is slated to open during summer 2013. The company also plans to open a 120,000 sq.ft. Walmart store at the intersection of Pine Ridge Avenue and Highway 64 in Merrill, WI. If approved, construction on the store is slated to begin during the summer with an opening projected for next year. The location will feature a full grocery department and a pharmacy, and will be open 24 hours a day. The company also plans to open a 54,000 sq.ft. Walmart Market in a former Food Maxx at the intersection of March Lane and West Lane in Stockton, CA, as part of a plan to open as many as 100 Walmart Market stores nationwide this year. The store is slated to open late this year or early next year, and will feature grocery and general merchandise departments, as well as a pharmacy. The company also plans to open a 33,000 sq.ft. Walmart Neighborhood Market concept at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Grand Avenue in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles, CA. The store will be one-fifth the size of a traditional Walmart and will be the company’s first grocery concept in Los Angeles County. The company currently operates more than 9,000 locations nationwide and internationally throughout 15 countries, including nearly 3,000 Walmart Supercenter locations, and 60 Walmart Market stores. Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-4774455) plans to open a 52,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market store along Third Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. It will be the company’s first location in Brooklyn. The store will feature a greenhouse on the roof to grow organic produce that will be sold at the store. The company currently operates 316 specialty supermarkets throughout 38 states nationwide and in Washington, DC, as well as throughout Canada and the United Kingdom. 99 Cents Only Stores (323-980-8145) plans to open a store in a space formerly tenanted by Do It Center along Valencia Boulevard in Santa Clarita, CA. The company operates 292 locations nationwide, including 29 in AZ; 214 in CA; 13 in NV and 36 in TX.

Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. (781-737-3000) plans to open nine Dunkin’ Donuts stores in Lincoln and Omaha, NE during the coming four years. The company, with a franchisee is also planning to open seven Dunkin’ Donuts in Denver, CO. The first store is slated to open next year and the remainder by 2018. The company, under franchisee Sizzling Platter, LLC, will also open 11 stores in Denver, CO over the next several years. The company operates more than 14,800 stores nationwide and internationally throughout 44 countries, trading as Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins. Donatos Pizzeria, LLC (614-416-7700), through franchisee Slice of Life Enterprise, LLC, plans to open 20 Donatos pizzerias throughout northern VA, including a restaurant in Vienna, VA during February. Expansion will focus on Fairfax, Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. The company is also scouting sites for franchisees in the Nashville, TN market, as well as in NC and SC. The chain currently operates 157 locations throughout AL, IN, KY, NC, OH, SC and VA, including 106 franchised restaurants and 51 companyowned units. Bass Pro Shops, Inc. (417-873-5000) will open a 117,000 sq.ft. Bass Pro Shops at Copper Ridge, a project under development on 200 acres off Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard in Colorado Springs, CO. The location, which will feature a 15,000 sq.ft. in-store Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill restaurant, is slated to open during the summer of 2013. The company currently operates 58 locations nationwide throughout 26 states and in Canada. Trader Joe’s Co. (626-599-3700) plans to open a 13,000 sq.ft. Trader Joe’s store at the Thruway Center, located along South Stratford Road in Winston-Salem, NC. The specialty supermarket will be the company’s seventh in the state with other locations in Cary, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and three in Charlotte. The company currently operates more than 365 locations throughout 31 states nationwide. Chico’s FAS, Inc. (847-914-2500) plans to open a 20,000 sq.ft. Walgreens flagship concept in a former Border’s at Downtown Crossing, located along Freedom Trail in Boston, MA. The company is also planning to open 24 stores nationwide. The chain of drug stores currently operates 7,715 locations nationwide and throughout Puerto Rico. Old Time Pottery, Inc.
