The stores, offering paint and related products, occupy spaces of 3,000 sq.ft. to 5,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations and strip centers. Growth opportunities are sought throughout select markets nationwide during the coming 18 months. Typical leases run five years with three, fiveyear options. Preferred demographics include a population of 50,000 within three miles earning $50,000 as the average household income. Major competitors include Home Depot, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Benjamin Moore. The Sherwin-Williams Co. (Midwest Division) operates 889 locations throughout the upper midwestern and northwestern regions of the U.S. The stores occupy spaces of 4,000 sq.ft. to 4,500 sq.ft. in freestanding locations and endcaps of shopping centers.
