(407-8546600) is slated to open Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co. coffee shops throughout FL during the next several years, including the conversion of 10 former Starbucks locations. The company is also looking to expand through franchisees in additional markets throughout the Southeast. The company currently operates 43 stores nationwide, throughout AL, FL, GA, IN and TN, and internationally. Muvico Theatres, Inc. (954-564-6550) is scheduled to open a 10-screen Muvico Theater in Miami, FL later this year. The upscale movie theater will feature a sevenlane bowling alley and a full-service restaurant and bar. The company recently opened a 14-screen theater in Thousand Oaks, CA and currently operates 12 units throughout FL, in addition to the CA location and a location in MD. Hastings Entertainment, Inc. (806-6771443) plans to open two Hastings stores this year while relocating three and closing three. True Religion Apparel, Inc. (323-266-3072) will open True Religion stores in Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO and Seattle, WA this year. The company recently opened a 1,700 sq.ft. store, selling designer jeans, sportswear and handbags, in Pioneer Place, a 350,000 sq.ft. center located in Portland, OR. The tenant joined Saks Fifth Avenue, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. Appliance Recycling Centers of America, Inc. (925-930-9000) will open ApplianceSmart stores this year. The company operates 20 of the stores, factory outlets selling home appliances from Whirlpool, GE and Frigidaire, throughout GA, MN, OH and TX and operates six appliance recycling centers throughout CA, IL, MN, TX and Ontario, Canada. Caribou Coffee Co., Inc. (763-592-2200) plans to open Caribou Coffee cafes this year. The coffeehouses sell gourmet coffee and espresso-based beverages along with specialty teas, baked goods, whole bean coffee and branded merchandise. Home Depot, Inc. (770-433-8211) is planning to open a 100,000 sq.ft. Home Depot location along Adams Avenue in Silverthorne, CO, though a firm opening date has not been set. The approvals process for the construction has been delayed by public concerns and issues over sufficient parking and wetlands mitigation. Wal*Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) is planning to open six Wal*Mart Supercenters throughout the Chicago, IL metropolitan area this year and another six during 2010, bringing the company’s total Wal*Mart Supercenter count in the area to 25. Urban Outfitters, Inc. (215-454-5500) is planning to open an Urban Outfitters store at the intersection of West 99th Street and Broadway in New York, NY. The company is also slated to open a 12,000 sq.ft. Anthropologie store in Block 37, a mixeduse project in Chicago, IL scheduled to open during the summer.
