Who’s Opening and Where Mattress Firm, Inc. (713-923-1090) plans to open 25 Mattress Firm stores throughout FL by mid- to late 2012. The stores offer namebrand and private-label mattresses along with bedding and accessories. The company currently operates 550 units nationwide throughout 22 states. Auto-Lab Franchise Management Corp. (248-994-0206), through franchisees, plans to open Auto-Lab Complete Car Care Centers throughout northern CA, FL, IA, IL, IN and MI during 2010, as part of a plan to operate 50 locations, offering automotive parts and services, nationwide by year’s end. The company recently opened a location along South Dixie Highway in Monroe, MI, during March. Rouses Enterprises (985-447-5998) is slated to open a 32,000 sq.ft. Rouses Market grocery store at the intersection of LA 1 and Crescent Avenue in Lockport, LA. The store will be twice the size of an existing store located along Justin Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street, which will close upon the opening of the new location. The company currently operates 36 locations throughout LA and MS.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. (630-226-0020) will open a 10,800 sq.ft. Ulta location at Stafford Park, a mixed-use center located at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway and Route 72 Interchange in Stafford Township, NJ. The store joins Dick’s Sporting Goods, PetSmart, Costco, Target and Best Buy at the center, and is slated to open during the fall. The company currently operates 346 stores, offering cosmetics and beauty supplies and featuring a full-service salon, nationwide throughout 38 states. Syms Corp. (201-902-9600) will open co-branded Syms and Filene’s Basement locations in Paramus, NJ and Long Island and Westchester and Westbury, NY during the fall. The stores will offer women’s apparel and accessories, men’s shirts, ties, sportswear and outerwear, and home textiles and luggage from the Filene’s Basement concept, and men’s suits, sport coats, dress pants, overcoats, raincoats and tuxedos, as well as men’s and women’s shoes and children’s apparel, from the Syms concept. The company recently opened a 33,000 sq.ft. co-branded location along Route 1 in Norwood, MA during March, as well as a location in Hartford, CT.

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. (800453-7467) will open a 55,000 sq.ft. Stop & Shop supermarket at Hyde Park Mall, a center undergoing renovation along Route 9 in Hyde Park, NY. The store will occupy a new freestanding building and feature gasoline facilities, and will anchor the center. Construction is slated to begin during September. Christopher & Banks Corp. (763-551-5000) plans to open 10 Christopher & Banks stores this year, as well as close 25 existing locations. The company currently operates 800 women’s apparel stores nationwide throughout 46 states. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) plans to open a 75,400 sq.ft. Walmart in a former Mervyns site located in Torrance, CA. The company also plans to open a 150,000 sq.ft. Walmart Supercenter at a former United Artists movie theater site located off Switzer Road in Biloxi, MS. The store will replace an existing location on Pass Road, and is slated to open during the first quarter of 2012. The company currently operates 3,763 locations nationwide.

(215-546-7909) plans to open one or more Five Below stores in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area, including an opening slated for September, as part of a plan to expand into additional markets. Expansion is also planned for Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Detroit, MI, and Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton, OH. The company recently opened locations at North Hills Village and Settlers Ridge Center in Pittsburgh and at Miracle Mile in Monroeville, PA during March, April and June, respectively, and currently operates 112 locations nationwide throughout 12 states. The stores offer merchandise aimed at teens and preteens and priced between $1 and $5, including fashion accessories, DVDs, video games and accessories, sport and workout gear, games and toys, cosmetics, school supplies, crafts and seasonal items. The company currently operates 1,149 pet stores throughout North America, along with 100 in-store Pet Hotel locations, offering boarding for cats and dogs. Sprouts Farmers Market, LLC (480-814-8016) plans to open a 30,243 sq.ft. Sprouts Farmers Market in half of a former Albertsons site at Overton Park Plaza, a 463,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of Southwest Loop 820 and South Hulen Street in Ft. Worth, TX. Maxx store at Atlantic West Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Kernan Road in Jacksonville, FL. The store is slated to open during the fall. The company currently operates 2,700 locations nationwide under the T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and A.J. Wright trade names. Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. (952294-1300) plans to open Famous Dave’s restaurants nationwide this year. The company recently opened a 6,200 sq.ft. location at SanTan Village Shopping Center, located along East Williams Field Road in Gilbert, AZ, during April. Goodwill Industries donation center and retail store at Arborgate, a center located at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Treeline Avenue in Gateway, FL. The store will replace an existing donation center at the site, and will be the company’s 25th in southwestern FL. The store is slated to open during late August. The company also plans to open a bookstore along McGregor Boulevard in Iona, FL. Publix Super Markets, Inc. (863-688-1188) will open a 54,000 sq.ft. Publix at Shoppes of Seminole, located along Atlantic Boulevard in Neptune Beach, FL. The store is slated to open during early fall and will replace a 39,000 sq.ft. location along Atlantic Boulevard. The new location will feature an expanded floral department as well as a pharmacy and an ethnic foods department.
