Planned openings include 24 restaurants throughout Queens and Westchester counties in NY and Fairfield County in CT during the coming six years; 12 locations throughout Cincinnati, OH; seven restaurants, through franchisee American Food Services Group, LLC, throughout Duval County, FL during the coming four years; 10 locations, with franchisee Compleat Hospitality Management, LLC, throughout Birmingham, AL and New Orleans, LA, and 10 units throughout Charlotte, NC. The company is slated to open 85 locations nationwide by year’s end, as part of a plan to operate 500 restaurants nationwide within the next several years. The company currently operates 100 locations nationwide.

The Kroger Co. (513-762-4000) plans to open a 123,000 sq.ft. Kroger supermarket in a former Scott’s at Village at Coventry, located at the intersection of Interstate 69 and Jefferson Boulevard in Ft. Wayne, IN. The store will be larger than typical Kroger locations and will feature a larger pharmacy and more non-grocery items.

Demolition of the Scott’s store is taking place this month, with Kroger slated to open at the site late next year. The company currently operates more than 2,469 locations nationwide throughout 31 states, trading as Kroger, Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, QFC, Foods Co. and Food 4 Less.

The store will replace an existing location in the city at Mall at the Source, and is slated to open next fall. The company also plans to open a 35,000 sq.ft. Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. (781-737-3000), through franchisee Travel Mart, Inc., will open six Dunkin’ Donuts franchises throughout the Wausau, WI area. Potential openings include locations in Stevens Point, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and Rhinelander, WI, with the first opening slated for next year and the remaining restaurants to open by 2016. Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (704-847-6961) plans to open more than 12 Family Dollar stores throughout the Central Valley area of CA, as part of a plan to open 300 locations this year. Planned openings include 8,000 sq.ft. stores in Avenal, Coalinga, Wasco, Hanford, Corcoran, Firebaugh, Sanger, Reedley, Parlier, Fresno, Kerman, Tulare, Woodlake, Exeter and Farmersville, among others, and the company may open as many as eight units in Fresno. The stores will mark the company’s entry into the state. The company operates more than 6,800 stores nationwide throughout 44 states.

CBRL Group, Inc. (615-444-5533) plans to open a 9,000 sq.ft. Cracker Barrel restaurant at Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, located along South Olympia Avenue in Tulsa, OK. The opening will be the company’s second in the city. The restaurant is slated to open during October or November and will join McDonald’s, Arby’s, Chick-fil-A, Logan’s Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings and Smashburger at the center. Staples also plans to open a store at the site. The company currently operates 600 locations nationwide throughout 42 states, including seven in OK. Recreational Equipment, Inc. (253-3953780) will open a 24,000 sq.ft. REI store in part of a former Linens ‘N Things at Plaza at Castleton, located at the intersection of 86th Street and Allisonville Road in Indianapolis, IN. The opening will be the company’s first in the state and is slated for next year. The company currently operates 114 locations nationwide throughout 29 states.

Office Depot, Inc. (561-438-4800) will open an 18,000 sq.ft. Office Depot store at Triangle Center, a 253,000 sq.ft. center located in Longview, WA. The store is slated to open during the summer and will join Ace Hardware and Chase Bank at the center. The company currently operates 1,100 locations throughout North America.

Apple, Inc. (408-996-1010) plans to open an Apple store at The Americana at Brand, a mall currently undergoing expansion situated on 15.5 acres in Glendale, CA. The store will join Barnes & Noble, Juicy Couture, Anthropologie and H&M at the center.

Nordstrom also plans to open a location at the mall during fall 2013. The company operates more than 300 stores worldwide.

The Mattress Hub, Inc. (316-283-5206) plans to operate 20 Mattress Hub stores by year’s end, and expects to operate 28 units by the end of next year. Potential openings include a location in Joplin, MO. The company opened units in Dodge City and Topeka, KS early this month, and currently operates 14 stores throughout KS, MO and OK. DSW, Inc. (614-237-7100) plans to open 18 DSW stores during the company’s 2011 fiscal year. The company opened seven locations during the first quarter, and currently operates 318 stores, offering brandname and designer footwear and accessories for men and women, nationwide throughout 39 states.

Habit Burger Grill (949-851-8881) plans to open a location along Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, CA. The restaurant will join a CVS which is currently under construction at the site. The company currently operates 43 restaurants throughout AZ and CA. Aldi, Inc. (630-879-8100) plans to open a 17,900 sq.ft. Aldi store along West Interstate Drive in Champaign, IL. The store will replace an existing, smaller location along North Mattis Avenue in the city, and is slated to open during November. Buyers and Sellers Sperry Van Ness is selling the 20-year NNN ground lease to a freestanding Panda Express with a drive-thru located in Denver, CO. The lease has 15 years remaining on the initial term and features four, five-year options and 10% rent escalations every five years.

The company is also selling a 20,293 sq.ft. freestanding, single-tenant Pep Boys located in Stockton, CA. The tenant is bound to a 15-year NNN lease featuring annual rent escalations of 1.5%.
