Who’s Opening and Where Tempur-Pedic International, Inc. (800-8053635) recently opened a 3,500 sq.ft. TempurPedic flagship store at Natick Mall, located along Worcester Street in Natick, MA. The store features micro-bedroom areas where customers can browse and test out mattresses in privacy, as well as a Tempur wall where consumers can interact with different mattress materials. The company plans to open more stores within a year at locations nationwide. Another store is opening this year at the Kenwood Mall near Cincinnati, OH.

Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. (781-737-3000), under a franchisee, plans to open Dunkin’ Donuts shops throughout Topeka and Wichita, KS; Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, TX and Reno, NV, as part of an expansion plan to double its current U.S. footprint of about 7,000 locations within 20 years. The company currently operates more than 10,000 locations worldwide, including 7,000 locations in 36 states nationwide and more than 3,000 locations in 31 countries.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) plans to open two Neighborhood Market stores in Sacramento County, CA, located at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Manzanita Avenue in Carmichael, and near Highway 99 and Elk Grove Boulevard in Elk Grove. The company currently operates more than 2,600 locations throughout 44 markets, offering apparel for men, women and children, nationwide and internationally, including over 240 locations in the U.S.

Cabela’s, Inc. (308-254-5505) plans to open Cabela’s Outpost, its new concept, stores in Lone Tree and Thornton, CO; Saginaw, MI and Green Bay, WI during 2013. The company also plans to open a store in Anchorage, AK during 2014. The company operates 37 locations, offering hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating and other outdoor-related equipment, apparel and gear, as well as gifts and furnishings, nationwide and in Canada.

Five Guys Enterprises, LLC (703-339-9500) plans to open a Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries restaurant at Paseo Lindo, a 73-acre lifestyle center, located at the intersection of Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road in Chandler, AZ during 2013. Belk’s Inc. (866-235-5443) plans to open a 95,000 sq.ft. Belk Department Store at Creekside Shopping Center, a 600-acre center located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and FM 306 in New Braunfels, TX. The store is slated to open during 2013 and will join Target, Best Buy, JC Penney, Ross Dress for Less, PetSmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods at the center.

Microsoft (425-882-8080) plans to open 12 pop-up stores for the holiday season this year. The company, offering computers from original equipment manufactures, also plans to open 75 permanent locations by 2014 and operates 31 locations nationwide.

TD Bank (888-751-9000) plans to open 30 locations this year. The company currently operates 1,301 financial service centers throughout FL, NC, SC and the Washington DC metropolitan area, in addition to sites throughout the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions.

Fan Outfitters (859-971-6094) is planning to open two stores at locations in Moore and Oklahoma City, OK. The expansion will bring the company’s store count to seven locations. The 6,000 sq.ft. to 10,000 sq.ft. stores offer collegiate and pro sporting goods and licensed merchandise. Safeway, Inc. (925-467-3000) is planning to open a 59,000 sq.ft. Safeway situated a land area of 6.5 acres at the intersection of Highway 305 and Lincoln Road in Poulsbo, WA. The supermarket is slated to open during December 2013. Double R Restaurant Group (337-981-4060) plans to open 10 Broken Eggs restaurants in Atlanta, GA, in addition to expanding in Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Supervalu, Inc. (952-828-4000), under a franchisee, Jumbo Foods, plans to open a 22,500 sq.ft. Save-A-Lot supermarket in a former Boys Market at Van Buren Square along South Van Buren in Enid, OK. The store is slated to open this fall. The company currently operates more than 1,900 supermarkets nationwide. Gap, Inc. (650-952-4400) plans to open five Athleta stores in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Cleveland, OH; Portland, OR and Seattle, WA this year as part of an expansion plan to open at least 50 locations by 2013.
