Apparel Chains Expand Nationwide Dress Barn, Inc. trades as dressbarn at 838 locations nationwide throughout 47 states. The stores, offering casual and career apparel and accessories for women ages 35 to 55, occupy spaces of 7,000 sq.ft. to 8,000 sq.ft. in malls and lifestyle, outlet, power, strip, tourist and community shopping centers, as well as metro/downtown areas. Plans call for 20 to 30 openings nationwide during the coming 18 months. Preferred cotenants include grocery, soft goods and apparel retailers, as well as discount department stores. Preferred demographics include a trade-area population earning $55,000 as the median household income. Maurices, Inc. trades as Maurices at 758 locations nationwide. The stores, offering casual and career apparel and accessories for women in their 20s, occupy spaces of 5,000 sq.ft. in malls and lifestyle, outlet, power, strip and community shopping centers. Plans call for 35 to 50 openings throughout the existing market during the coming 18 months. Typical leases run five years with four, five-year options. A vanilla shell is required. Preferred cotenants include Kohl’s, JCPenney and Target. Preferred demographics include a population of 50,000 within five miles earning $50,000 as the average household income. Tween Brands, Inc. trades as Justice at 891 locations nationwide throughout 46 states and in Canada and Puerto Rico. The stores, offering trendy apparel and accessories for girls ages seven to 12, occupy spaces of 4,000 sq.ft. in malls and lifestyle, outlet, power, strip and community shopping centers. Plans call for 20 to 30 openings nationwide
