New Construction Benderson Development Co. is developing Mall at University Town Center, an 880,000 sq.ft. shopping center located off University Parkway at Interstate 75 in Manatee County, FL. Who’s Opening and Where Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) is planning to open a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Beaverton, OR next month. The company is also planning to open three Walmart stores throughout AZ, including two 40,000 sq.ft. Walmart Neighborhood Markets in Tuscon, with one located at the intersection of Broadway and Camino Seco and a second location at Golf Links and Kolb.

Both Tucson stores are slated to open during summer 2013. The third store, a Walmart Supercenter, will be located at El Con Mall and is slated to open during late 2013. The company currently operates more than 9,000 locations nationwide and internationally throughout 15 countries.

Ross Stores, Inc. (925-965-4400) is slated to open a 25,000 sq.ft. Ross Dress for Less store at East Peoria Downtown, located in Peoria, IL. The company will join Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Heartland Dental Care, Target, Costco, Ulta and Gordman’s at the site and is scheduled to open during spring 2013. Dunkin’ Brands (781-737-3000), under a franchisee, plans to open 16 restaurants throughout UT, with a focus on Salt Lake City. The first restaurant is slated to open during 2013, with the remainder opening by 2018. Safeway, Inc. (925-467-3000) plans to open a 58,000 sq.ft. Safeway supermarket in a mixed-use center at the intersection of Reedie Drive and Georgia Avenue in Kensington, MD. The company will join SunTrust Bank at the site and is slated to open during fall 2013.

Modani Atlanta (800-606-7319) plans to open a store at Buckhead Pavilion Shopping Center, located along Peachtree Road in Buckhead, GA. The company, offering modern and contemporary furniture, currently operates 10 locations throughout CA, IL, FL, MA, NY, TX and Washington, DC. Zadig & Voltaire based in Paris, France, is planning to open a flagship store, located at the intersection of Mercer Street and Broome Street in the SoHo neighborhood of New York, NY, as its U.S. debut. The Kroger Co. (513-762-4000) is planning to open Kroger Marketplace situated on 25 acres at the intersection of North Illinois Avenue and Ivanhoe Road in Oak Ridge, TN. The supermarket is slated to open during 2014.

Mathis Bros. Furniture (918-461-7700) plans to open seven Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations throughout the greater Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK markets.
