Who’s Opening and Where City Furniture (954-597-2200) will open a 56,000 sq.ft. furniture store along South Dixie Highway in Cutler Bay, FL. The store will be located adjacent to an existing City Furniture, which the company will convert into an Ashley Furniture HomeStore. Both locations are slated to open by the end of next year. The company also plans to open a 25,000 sq.ft. Ashley Furniture store along Federal Highway near Northeast 38th Street in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The company will raze an existing building at the site in order to accommodate the new location. The store is slated to open by the end of next year.

The company will also open a 35,000 sq.ft.

Ashley Furniture store along Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach, FL. The store will replace an existing, smaller store along Okeechobee Boulevard in the city. The company is also adding a 14,000 sq.ft. second-floor expansion to an existing 16,000 sq.ft. store in Pinecrest, FL, which is slated for completion early next year. The company also plans to open a store in a former Borders at Johns Creek Town Center in Atlanta, GA, and currently operates 261 discount department stores nationwide.

Morris Furniture Co., Inc. (937-874-7100) will open a 100,000 sq.ft. Morris Home Center in a former Kmart in Florence, KY. The center will feature five separate showrooms offering furniture, mattresses, electronics and gifts. The location is slated to open next fall.
