CURRENT HYDROLOGY

Existing development

Pressure points created by mountain washes intersecting river

Flood patterns created as a result of the development and air strip. Mountains & air strip create high water flow speeds causing water to drain back into golf course & development when washes intersect river during flood events.

The overlap of analysis diagrams deliniated the most sensitive areas around the town; information which was used to select the most suitable areas for flood control solutions & restoration of native vegetation in areas overtaken by tamarisk trees.
