1940s Entrepreneur Charles Mieg acquired the majority of the Windy Gulch and Horseshoe Mountain properties for a sum of $12,000. Upon noticing that the mountain's silhouette bore a striking resemblance to a reclining Egyptian mummy, he decided to promote the land for development under the moniker "Mummy Mountain." Subsequently, when selling off portions of the property, Mieg utilized this captivating name to attract potential buyers.
Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has an area of 15.4 square miles (40 km2), of which 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2), or 0.18%, is water. Mummy Mountain dominates Paradise Valley central terrain. The town boasts a number of historical landmarks, such as the Harold C. Price, Sr. House, McCune Mansion/Hormel Mansion, and Barry Goldwater Memorial Park.

Characterize Architectural When discussing architecture in Paradise Valley, it's impossible to overlook the significant design contributions of Frank Lloyd Wright to the architectural landscape of the state. Wright's architectural philosophies, including his use of natural materials, integration with the surrounding desert landscape, and his emphasis on open spaces and connection with nature. The design incorporates features such as low, horizontal lines, flat roofs, and the use of local materials like desert masonry and redwood to create a harmonious relationship between the building and its environment.
People
Frank Lloyd Wright - Paradise City Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built a famous winter home in Paradise Valley known as Taliesin West. Taliesin West served as Frank Lloyd Wright's winter residence and architectural school from 1937 until his death in 1959. It is considered one of his most significant architectural achievements and a masterpiece of desert architecture. The design of Taliesin West incorporates elements inspired by the desert landscape, with its low, horizontal lines, natural materials, and an integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. Paradise Valley is home to one of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic architectural creations, making it a notable location in the context of his career and architectural influence.
Charles Mieg - Mummy Mountain Born in Switzerland, Charles Mieg initially established himself as a prosperous banker and real estate developer in New York City. However, he ultimately departed from the luxuries of New York to embark on a gold prospecting adventure in the Bradshaw Mountains. During the early 1940s, he relocated to the Paradise Valley region and initiated his explorations of what was then referred to as Windy Gulch, now recognized as Mummy Mountain. Charles Mieg acquired the Van Benscoten Ranch, encompassing the majority of the mountain's north and east sides. When he made the decision to transform this area into a residential community, he branded it as Mummy Mountain.

The architecture of the 1970s was more functional, aesthetic, following the previous movement of Googie and Pop styles. An advantage of this architectural style is their unique shapes and forms that can be used for path finding purposes.
After working on our bubble diagram and our inspirational architectural style we came op with a diagram of our village which later became our site plan.
