ALARM SYSTEMS

PROTECT YOUR PREMISES WITH FOG CANNON SECURITY.

The technology behind the fog cannon is simple: When the fluid is forced through a very hot heating element, it becomes a dry, white and very dense cloud. If there is an intrusion detected by the alarm system, the well positioned canon will spread the fog within seconds.

What burglars can't see, they can't steal! No one can steal without the sense of sight. That is the whole point of security fog protection. If you can make your valuables invisible in a matter of seconds, a burglar can't steal anything and quickly runs off again. Call ¡PERFECT Alarm! S.L. on 608 517 661 with any of your security questions. Mr. Martin will find a solution to fit your needs and desires. The visit to your place is always without obligation. http://www.perfect-alarm.com/protect-Eng.htm

BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION continued ... There are two forms of drainage for the garden – surface or sub-surface. Surface drainage, collects and redirects the excess water that is on the surface of the ground. It is used to catch rainfall and direct it away before it causes damage. Spoon (open surface) drains are shallow channels that are usually made from concrete and can be installed around the garden to redirect this excess water to other parts or to inlets for sub-soil drainage systems. Large paved or concreted entertainment areas utilise spoon drains covered by a small grille, which then redirects the water. Another option is to direct the water to a specially built rain garden which prevents the water from entering the storm water system and potentially polluting waterways. Sub-surface drainage systems are buried beneath the surface of the soil and ideally should be installed in the early stages of the landscaping process. They can also be installed in existing gardens. Sub-surface drainage is commonly used in grassed areas and must be used behind retaining walls. Land drainage systems require an understanding and appreciation of water and land dynamics, something the average builder often doesn’t have a knowledge of. We have extensive experience in land drainage and therefore urge you to leave this most crucial of landscaping disciplines to the professionals at LT Construction.

HEATING SYSTEMS

Redwell® - Efficient, energy saving and healthy heating solutions! In comparison to conventional heaters, infrared waves don’t heat the air, but do heat people, walls and furniture. They absorb the heating waves and store the heat much longer than air, and then release it back into the living space. In this way a lot of energy can be saved. Also walls remain dry and mould has no chance. Another advantage is that the air does not circulate, therefore less dust, pollen, bacteria and mould spores are lifted up into the air. Storage material saves even more energy: Redwell® panels have a special storage material inside, that keeps the running times lower. The heater continues to emit its warmth also during those periods of time when no energy is consumed. Healthy warmth: We humans have evolved with the capacity to absorb infrared heat, which has a beneficial effect on our immune system. Infrared heat increases circulation in the skin, stimulates the metabolism and is very hygienic due to cleaner air. Rheumatoid or Asthmatic patients and Allergy sufferers benefit greatly. NEW - The Redwell® Towel Dryer 2.0: is a full heater that can also be used to dry your towels: Available in two sizes with either 560 or 700 Watt, and in the following designs: Mirror (see picture), Glass white or Glass motive 'Bamboo'. Redwell® Infrared Heaters offer the best benefits: Energy savings, high comfort, healthy indoor environment and NO maintenance costs! MECHANICS

Talleres Simon is a family run professional and friendly English garage on the Poligono Industrial in Velez Malaga just minutes away from El Ingenio shopping centre. They opened the garage in 2011 because the demand became too high when Simon was a mobile mechanic. They are a small team that takes pride in offering a service with over 30 years’ experience. They specialize in all makes and models of vehicles and offer all aspects of work from your basic service through to clutches, cam belts, brakes, air conditioning, gearboxes, suspension, welding, electronic diagnostic, tyres and ITV work. With winter on its way it’s time to get your vehicles ready for the cold and the wet; and they advise that you get your brakes checked and serviced, also test the brake fluid for water contamination. It is advisable to change the fluid every 2 years for this reason. Battery test for strength, and antifreeze test. It is also advised that this is changed every 2 years to prevent corrosion within the engine. It is also advisable to get your tyres checked for condition and wear. So do not hesitate to give Talleres Simon a call and get your car ready for the colder weather. There normal opening hours are Monday - Thursday 9.00am6.00pm and Fridays 9.00am -4.00pm. THIS MONTHS COCKTAIL The Christmas Candy Cane Cocktail With a name like Candy Cane, you might expect this cocktail to be peppermint flavored, and it certainly does have that element. But there’s so much more: berry vodka and white creme de cacao round out the peppermint schnapps so you have a delicious combination that’s almost hard to pin down. Chocolate, berry and mint – how good can it get? You will need. • 50ml Absolut Berry vodka • 50 ml peppermint schnapps • 50 ml white creme de cacao • 15 ml grenadine • 25 ml cream • Crushed hard peppermint candy. Mix the vodka, peppermint Schnapps, grenadine and creme de cacao with ice in a cocktail shaker. Be sure to shake it up thoroughly. Rim a cocktail glass with crushed hard peppermint candy and pour the shaken mixture into the glass. Top it off with the cream. This is enough to make two cocktails, always good to share. 26

See Your Success Now

PART 5

So far parts 1 to 4, prepared you for this next stage; how to use your own most powerful tool of success.

The unconscious mind communicates in a sensory language and a powerful way to communicate with your deep-mind is through detailed sensory-rich pictures (still images or movies). It is a fact that you can imagine absolutely anything you want no matter how strange, weird, different, or beyond reality it is. Since your imagination has no limits and it can communicate visually, you can capitalise on these unique qualities by using the power of your imagination to create a detailed ‘Vision of Success’. Your VoS is the ‘secret key’ to accessing your unconscious mind to provide the direction and solutions to challenges necessary to take you to your success. To create a powerful VoS it must be ‘sensory rich’ which means it should include: • What you will SEE! • What you will HEAR! • What you will FEEL! Your VoS will include everything you expect to have when this vision becomes a reality. The more detailed, colourful, and bright your VoS is the more your deep-mind will move you towards it. Exercise – your ‘Vision of Success’ 1. Create an image or a movie in your mind of what your life will be like when you have the success you want. 2. To assist you with creating your vision and to make it ‘sensory and detail rich’ prepare some lists: List 1 - What do I SEE? List 2 - What do I HEAR? List 3 - What do I FEEL? List 4 - What do I HAVE? 3. From the lists write a very rich description of what this success will look like – your ‘Vision of Success’. 4. Make the vision powerful and think about it for 2 minutes, twice a day – when you get up and before you go to bed. Once your reality matches or is very close to this vision you have the success you dreamed of. In the final part, we will bring together all you have learned so far for ‘The 30-day Outcome Challenge’. Are you ready?

Quaintly Spanish recipe BY tINA I’m Liz, writer & brewer of wonderful ales! People have been asking me how married life is agreeing with me. Pretty good! I recently read that one of the top 5 things married couples fight about is their sense of direction and whose is better. Well, at least that’s one fight we never have: I am pretty much a bloodhound when it comes to finding my way, whereas my husband can just about find our front door. However, when I have to follow other people’s directions I suddenly get the whole ‘fighting about sense of direction’-thing. As a volunteer for Axarquia Animal Rescue I occasionally get sent out to pick up a dog or goods for the charity shop and many’s the time when people give me directions that go something like this: take the road to X (insert village I’ve never, ever been to), take the turn that goes more or less to the left, pass old Paco’s barn, our house is taupe-ish. Aaaaaargh! I always tell people that I’ve never been to village X but they’ll still assume I know ‘Old Paco’. If that village is anything like mine there won’t be merely one ‘old Paco’, but about twelve, so finding this barn could be pretty tricky! And don’t even get me started on taupe. At times like these I am thankful for the strict gun control in Spain as I might otherwise have shot some poor, hapless person who gave me shoddy directions by now. But don’t worry, I’m sure my husband and I will find plenty of other stuff to fight about. Like socks! More about Liz .. Check out Facebook.com/CabrazulComares or Opgeschreven.nl!

WELLBEING Festive Season Healthy Tips

WELLBEING

As much as we look forward to holiday parties and dinners, many of us fear enjoying it too much – and packing on the pounds. Although we may not all gain weight over the holidays, there is no question we tend to eat and drink more -- and exercise less. With the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, parties and festive traditions, healthy eating and exercise are usually the first things to go. No one wants to be on a strict diet during the holidays and we want to enjoy the traditional favorite foods. How can you enjoy the holidays without gaining weight? Here are a few tips to help you get through the festive season. Don’t go to a party hungry: we often eat faster and more when we are hungry therefore eat a wholesome breakfast and lunch on the day to avoid overeating at the party. Watch your portion: treat yourself a nice drink, dessert, chocolate or sweets without guilt, but always watch your portion. Go for small portions. This way you can sample all the different foods. Moderation is always the key. Make a conscious choice to limit high fat items: especially at the buffet. Aim for grilled meats and salads without mayonnaise and try and limit pastries such as sausage rolls. Try other versions of alcohol: instead of beer & cider try a wine spritzer or spirits with diet mixer which have fewer calories. Remember: Calories from alcohol tend to be stored in the abdomen. People who are overweight actually gain weight more easily when they consume alcohol. Drink plenty of water: alcohol and coffee can dehydrate your body. Physical activity: take nice brisk walks to keep active to avoid feeling sluggish Just remember everything in moderation & have fun!! 40
