Toshimon
You gotta catch ‘em all! I mean uh.. You gotta collect ‘em all (please don’t sue us Nintendo). We’re blasting off again into a nostalgic trading-card game on the Ethereum blockchain filled with monsters, battles, and glory. Why it’s none other than Toshimon!

Fang Gang
From the minds of Junshi and Paca comes 8888 wolves, or are they cats? Actually they look a bit like foxes… We’re not totally sure what they are, but with 160 traits and 3,676,470 possible combinations we’ll do our best to find out!

Aoife and The Foofees
She’s got electric boots, a mohair suit and you know I read it in a magazine. It’s Aoife and The Foofees. Ok the Elton John reference may be wasted on this crowd, but Aoife’s art certainly won’t be. We sit down with the Irish creative to talk Foofees, NFTs and future plans for the rising artist.

Meta News
All the things you might have missed this week in the Metaverse.
Toshimon Remember the euphoria of cracking open a fresh pack of trading cards as a kid? Heck even these days trading cards have had a huge resurgence, just recently Logan Paul paid $3.5 million for a pack of Pokemon cards. Well degens this isn’t Pokemon, this is Toshimon. Toshimon is a browserbased trading card game that uses NFTs to battle other players online. The Toshimon NFTs are found in packs, the first generation of which are available on the secondary market. Each one of these packs contains 8 NFTs with a guaranteed rare or better per pack. These bad boys have a chance to give you a legendary (5%), a secret rare (1.5%), even a secret-legendary (0.5%) – who doesn’t love getting a shiny? The team behind Toshimon understand the excitement of opening a pack, and they’ve built
a dedicated experience around it on their website. Of-course, in the interest of journalistic integrity we just had to go check this out for ourselves… The pack we opened contained a rare Aquamink that we can use to battle in the game, and an ultra-rare silk (we assume) wearable ingame shirt to look cool doing it too! Now it was time to check out the competition. Though not fully released, Toshimon provides a playable beta/ demo on their website that will eventually see PVP and a wagering module entirely on-chain. The combat is fun, besides your standard turn based attacks there’s special items like potions and utility moves, you can swap your Toshimon out mid-fight or just admit defeat and run for the hills. The Toshimon with the highest speed stat attacks first at the beginning of each round which leads to some legit
sweaty brain strategizing. Toshimon started just over a year ago and is lead by their CEO 0xthespaniard, Web3 dev BlueDerpy and community manager Indigestible. Though your average degen may cringe at the idea of a project that is not a derivative PFP collection or 10xing after 1 day, the silver-lining is the Toshimon community is full of OGs who’ve been interested in the project for months. This project is working it, and building 1 year in, what more evidence do you need to back a project when the team have been backing themselves for a whole millennium in NFT time. The pixelated style and 8-bit music really takes you back to the good old days, they’ve got something special here and there’s just enough in-place to show you the team’s vision. If they can nail the execution they’ll be blasting off (again).
FANG
Since dropping on August 30th and selling out in 8 minutes flat – Fang Gang have been slowly but surely building one of the most active and fun NFT communities around. With 8888 Fox-Wolf-Cat type creatures, 160 traits and over 3 million possible combinations to boot, the Fang Gang project enjoys an impressive 0.2Ξ floor and only 16% of the collection is available for sale. So who are these creatures? What’s a Fang Runner? Where the heck is New Fang City? Take our hand and we’ll show you!
There’s a lot to cover and we’re a little late to the party so let’s jump right into it. First of all beyond the initial collection this project has delivered an impressive roadmap including a liquidity pool that allows holders to stake or even swap their NFTs for others, a PxlFangs collection
of pixelated avatars and even an arcade game where you can win prizes.
Fang Runner If you’ve ever tried to use Google Chrome without an internet connection, Fang Runner A.K.A Three Two Pix might seem a little familiar. The side scroller requires players to collect diamonds, jump over dolphins and dodge toilet roll spitting aliens to score points on the leader-board for sweet prizes. There’s one sentence I never thought I’d write. Though anyone can play the game, you need to own a PxlFangster to earn prizes, and if you own one of the 8888 genesis Fangsters you’ll get a headstart in the game (cheater!). Past prizes include
GGANG various NFTs and a fully customised arcade joystick designed by the gang.
A nifty little feature is that you can play as your pixelated avatar in the game, or if interoperability is more your speed, you can also take your avatar to the Worldwide Webb. That’s not the only Metaverse integration on the menu though, the roadmap also includes 3D development and with a Decentraland outfit already available it’s clear the Fang Gang have a clear brand strategy in mind.
Big things ahead The roadmap for this project looks stacked with plans for fashion, partnerships, comics, an animated series, toys, and even breeding for the furries.
Not to mention the introduction of an $AWOO token that can be earned through various mechanisms including P2E gaming. The team plan to extend PxlFangster’s capabilities through upgradeable, dynamic NFTs and metaverse integrations plus they have plans to extend their own capabilities as they recruit additional team members to scale and support delivery. Also in the works is New Fang City, the projects very own hub featuring NFT integration, community events, activities, and goodies. Can’t wait for tomorrow? Even today the discord is pumping with content, discussions, raffles and more. The floor price for Fang Gangs presents an affordable entrypoint for what is shaping up to be a project you wont want to miss.
Q. The roadmap is STACKED.
Between wearables, gaming, tokenomics and brandbuilding how do you plan to manage and prioritise all of this as a team?
A. We see the document
we released as the vision for the project. It’s a long term commitment and for sure it won’t all happen at once. One of the things we did from the start was to assign specific teams to each of the brands. This way we have super talented people working on what they do best, instead of everyone being all over the place. So definitely good project management is something we’ve been putting a lot of effort into. Our priority right now is the roll out of $AWOO, since it will be the base of our ecosystem. Along with it will come the first utility - the PxlFangs upgrade into Super PxlFangs. New Fang City is also under active development. On the Streetwear side, our Wildfangz debut collection has been in the works for a while, and is now getting ready to go into production phase. Along the way, we always come up with small cool
features to keep the community entertained and engaged, and make sure to spend some of our time on Discord and Twitter to connect, feel their pulse and have a bit of fun. Basically, me (Paca) and Junshi, with the lead of Rireal on the dev side, are permanently involved in each of these projects, while the dedicated teams focus on their areas of expertise.
Q.
For all the aspiring projects out there trying to make it, what do you think was the key factor for Fang Gang’s success?
A.
Definitely not just one factor, but a combination of some. Community will always be our number one asset. They’re the ones the allow us to keep on building while the word gets out there. Always there, always positive. Then, we truly believe we have a strong IP and brand - we’ve created something unique, not only visually, but creative-wise. It’s really more than bunch of JPEGs with random traits - these Fangsters have stories to tell, a place to roam - New Fang City - and an ever expanding potential beyond the collection,
that has recently in the form of ou vision. This grow one of the reaso need to create th encompass diffe - FangGang, PxlF Wildfangz. And t amazing team w commitment to t all love Fang Gan all collectors too way beyond bein constantly thinki we can add new brands, create m our holders and out there. Last, connecting with and builders we and respect in th definitely a key f success. At the e just be honest, c love and would c with people and you’re doing. Pe when you’re in f to create value.

We’re ing about how w features to the more value for get Fangsters but not least, different artists appreciate his space is a factor for our end of the day, create what you collect, connect commit to what eople realize for the long run

to have fun with the Fangsters they own for as long as they own it. Of course we want to protect the brand and the IP from misuse, so anything that touches illegal territories won’t be tolerated - including hate speech, racism, pornography. But we’re lucky enough to have a super friendly and positive community, so bad actors are immediately exposed. We’re in web3, in our opinion there’s no other way to do it.
Q. Since dropping in
August last year, is there a milestone or moment you are most proud of?
A.
Quite a few, to be honest: - Selling out in just 8 minutes was mind-blowing. One of those things you hear about, but never expect to happen to yourself, regardless of all the work you put into what you’re doing. - Having the chance to collaborate with artists we look up to and respect - both for the collab pieces in the collection and the Fang Goodies - is another of those feels-good milestones.
- Being able to connect and support two wildlife charities so far: Sea Shepherd, that received a 10ETH donation to fund their mission of saving the Vaquita Porpoise, the most endangered marine mammal in the world; and re:wild, for which we have a long term partnership being discussed at the moment and another 10ETH donation incoming. - Releasing a game ThreeTwoPix: Fang Runner! We’re all gamers at heart, so venturing into this territory was something we always wanted to do. Specially including blockchain integration for rewards, like we did. But this was just the start of our gaming experience. - And finally, sharing our vision for the future which we believe to be trailblazing in the NFT space, and the warm feedback we received from it.
Aoife O’ What a pleasure it is to cover an Irish NFT artist. In case you didn’t know, Drop Magazine is founded by two Irish fellas called Pat & Hallz. Imagine the smile on our faces when we discovered Aoife, that’s “ee-fah” for you folks across the pond. By day Aoife is a creative director and UI/UX specialist, by night she is Queen of The Foofees. 111 hand-drawn creatures packed with bright and trippy detail living on the Ethereum blockchain. Each Foofee is a unique 1 of 1, lovingly drawn in Aoife’s studio. Her wholesome discord would rival that of The Littles and is home to these inter-dimensional beings which are sold via private raffles each week to members. Though if you fancy more exclusive odds you can also check out Aoife’s Sketchbook, as holders of this collection enjoy an exclusive stream of Foofee raffles each week until a total of 25 Foofees have been claimed.
The nature of Foofees The Foofees collections feels a bit like walking into a magical forest. It certainly reciprocates that feeling in real life too as for each Foofee minted there is one tree planted in Wolfgang Forest in Ireland. In tune with the elements these Foofees can come in the form
of Foundlings, Guardians, Elementals, Catalysts and a super-rare Supreme. Each type is rarer than the last and with a whole set of rewards available for avid collectors that can be gained from holding different combinations of Foofees, there’s a whole world to discover here.
To date 29 Foofees have been created and with a floor price just over 1Ξ now is a good time to hop into Aoife’s discord and try your luck with the private raffles. The artwork for this collection is simply superb, and once you see it for yourself it should come as no surprise then that even with the small number of items in this collection, only 24% are listed on the secondary market.
Over some Tayto crisps (we’ll let the Irish readers decide which one) and a nice cuppa tae, we caught up with Aoife to learn more about the project and artist.
Q. The Foofees look SO good
and each one unique, how long does it take to draw one?
A.
They do take me a while to make. The Procreate time log ranges from 4hrs to 12+ hours. Some of that is me in dreamland or getting distracted of course but I’d say on average 4-6hrs each for the Foundlings and that Elemental took a couple of days so at least double that.

You’ve crafted quite an icate bit of lore around project including various ments, combination ards, an upcoming eration of different atures and so on - do you nk there will be a storyng piece to all of this at me point?
I think that would be so zing. I’ve been thinking ut lore or backstory writing potential way for me to folks for private sales too. re’s a whole world building und these beings and the munity is so close that I’d to bring them closer to the y by helping to build and ct it with me.
Q. What’s your favourite
NFT you’ve created or collected?
A. Oh heck…how can I choose
from all my bbs! Certainly one of my favourite NFTs that I’ve created is one of my more detailed 1/1 pieces titled ‘Siucra’. I’d like to make more very detailed 1/1s soon. I do think the Earth Elemental Foofee is a fond favourite too, she’ll always be special as the first rare item in the collection. From my collection, it’s much harder I’ve got some outstanding pieces from some of my fave artists in there but my heart will always be with my first ever NFT which is my t e c h Hypnos - no. 102. Technoveins and the entire Hypnos team are some of my fave folks in the space and the Hypnos community was one of my early homes - they’ve been incredibly supportive of me and my journey in NFTs so far so I’ll honestly never sell her.
ENTR Disclaimer: The author of this article is an Entrope holder and Discord moderator.
If you’ve been around the NFT space for any length of time, you’ve likely noticed by now that there are only a handful of creators really pushing the boundaries of what is possible when it comes to hanging out on the blockchain. Projects like Terraforms (covered previously) and Merge by Muratpak spring to mind in terms of fluid, collaborative mechanics that allow collectors to really explore how things work. Funnily enough, Pak actually had some input on today’s project during its earlier days. However, with this theme of community-driven discovery in mind, today we’re putting Entropes (created by alexi) under the microscope!
The scientific minds out there may have detected how similar the name is to entropy - the degree of randomness and disorder within a system - which is certainly appropriate given the nature of this collection. So, what’s this all about? Well, conceptually, the project was born as a gateway to
‘multiplayer art’ - a way of producing work alongside others. In this case, there are certain ‘rules’ and conditions within the smart contract that promote working as a collective; wallet addresses, number of transfers and various other metrics are tracked and contribute to the appearance of the Entrope in question. That said, each piece - of which there are 2,358 - begins its life in the same way, as a single, simple circle in the middle of a canvas. As the token is transferred, this ‘evolves’ and extra circles are added, along with connecting lines which begin to further fill the image.
Although I’ve provided a very short overview of how things progress, the actual workings are far from simple and there are a great many possibilities when playing around. Project creator, alexi, was very deliberate in not giving out too many details, as a large part of the multiplayer thesis is leaving exploration down to the curiosity of the community. The first example of this at scale was a large chain using piece #2309, which was transferred through 37 individual community
members’ wallets and eventually fractionalised and vaulted! Unfortunately, growth and interaction has certainly been dampened recently as a result of the Ethereum network and its high network fees - bring on 2.0! Much like any other project, there are certain base traits assigned to each token upon mint such as colour palette, shape pattern and size. However, one of the key features separating Entropes from the pack is the possibility to pick up dynamic properties that depend on current conditions. One of the best examples of this are ‘disconnects’, occurring when a piece is transferred back to the same wallet within 10 transfers. The ‘multiplayer’ aspect of the project and therefore larger chains are encouraged through the use of this mechanic, requiring the token to undergo a legitimate transfer in order to be reconnected. Whilst in this state, the image will be greyed out, with ‘disconnected’ present both in the image and the Entropes’ traits. Collectors can also pair their wallet with Discord, and there are
v p a o t v f y f c a p t w h o t u
A c h p e i w f d a r w t t c m t
ROPES
various traits (such as ‘single player’, ‘co-op’ & ‘multiplayer’) assigned to the piece based on the percentage of a chain’s transfers being conducted by verified participants! If your focus is on aesthetics then you need to keep an eye out for ‘shiny’ pieces. This trait causes a drastic change in appearance, flipping the colour palette and therefore altering the background and shapes within the canvas. Each Entrope has a small, random chance of becoming shiny with every transfer, as well as losing it upon further movement.
As mentioned above, the curiosity of the community has played a huge role in the project. The largest collective event so far recently concluded in December; Entrope #1751 was passed between 50 wallets for a total of 100 transfers. In doing so, the group revealed a completely novel trait recurrence - whereby the piece will now be ‘reborn’ every 100 transfers. During a display of the new properties, alexi also confirmed that there are still more, undiscovered rare traits that are yet to be explored!.
For those of you looking to find the usual metrics, here’s a quick run down at the time of writing: 0.05 ETH floor, 414 ETH (approx. $1.3 million) in volume and 1.2k holders, with around 16% of the supply for sale. In terms of a roadmap, the release of ‘spells’ is scheduled for later this month. This is a free (+ gas) NFT for Entrope holders. In keeping with tradition, exact details of the drop have so far been kept under lock and key. However, one thing we do know is that the drop was originally scheduled for November, until the community voted to delay the release due to high network fees - a blessing in disguise as alexi revealed that he has further developed the concept to something far more advanced than the original!
More recently, Entropes solidified its position as a pioneer of collaborative NFT art, with the community coming together in order to create MultiplayerDAO. The DAO has ambitious plans for the future that involve curation & collecting of other NFTs, incubating & funding projects with the correct ethos, development of decentralised art tools for
creators to use and much, much more! Although the ‘trope crowd is tight knit so far, the treasury has already collected over 40 ETH in funds and many have pledged their time, skills and expertise to build something special for the entire NFT community to enjoy - watch this space and make sure to pick up some $MPT if you’re keen to get involved! With regards to user input and providing an intriguing experience, Entropes and the resulting MultiplayerDAO is certainly one of the most interesting projects we’ve covered so far in Drop Magazine. It’s definitely worth keeping track of how things develop, especially when ETH 2.0 drops and fees are less of a limiting factor, alongside the growth of the DAO and the lofty goals they have for that! Final fun fact: Tyler Hobbs creator of Fidenza - also had some input during the inception of the project. A small handful of the earliest pieces contain his digital signature, which can be seen clearly in the bottom left corner of the high-resolution renders!

I don’t think it’s much of a secret by now that Beanie’s reputation has been plummeting as quickly as the $BGLD chart - one of many rugged projects he promoted last year. However, very recently a Twitter account named NFT Ethics, created in 2011, recently came to life and published a damning, 70-tweet thread containing a smorgasbord of his shady dealings which range from TV pirating, all the way through to running illegitimate gambling sites and creating shell companies to cash in on the ICO mania of 2017. Whilst many people have had their doubts about this character for some time, it seems there’s now a host of solid evidence to vindicate their claims. The buck doesn’t stop with the NFT community, though, as it turns out a handful of Beanie’s previous activities are also actively being investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies. Due to the nature of the thread, it was soon ripping through people’s feeds and has amassed over 4,000 retweets, putting plenty of eyes on the situation. GM Capital, of which Beanie ‘was’ a partner, recently announced that he would be leaving the fund, though it was joked that he would still be involved under another alias, as he had claimed elsewhere on Twitter to be a self-marketer with up to 16 active ‘personalities’.

Art Innovation are, well… Innovating! During the boom of NFTs, there have been a number of digital art galleries and exhibitions springing up to display our much-loved non-fungible favourites on LED screens around the world. However, Art Innovation has entered the scene as the first digital gallery without a dedicated, physical location. The idea here is to display NFTs on giant, travelling LED screens in major cities all over the globe, in order to increase the presence of this new technology and the wonderful art that accompanies it. These screens will exhibit various works from creators, alongside QR codes that onlookers can scan to be taken to the relevant website for viewing and even purchasing that piece. Although relatively new, the team has already assembled a roster of heavy-hitters, with names like XCOPY, Beeple and Muratpak under their belt! Looking over the website, it also seems like they have a range of exciting locations planned - including Paris, New York and Hong Kong - over the next 14 months! These exhibits tend to line up with events such as Milan Art Week and, as well as helping to cement the position of industry titans, can hopefully assist in bringing up smaller artists within the space. If you’re interested in seeing your work up on the big screens, you can apply for that on their website.
