Expanding learning opportunities for all students is always a priority, and we couldn’t be more delighted to continue on this path with the launch of a new faculty professional development initiative, “The Culture of Innovation.” Crafted to extend our use of educational technology and design thinking, this two-year faculty training grant will help our students take intellectual risks, explore, and experiment; and we have The Dwight School Foundation to thank for graciously backing this Dear Parents, Alumni, and Friends of Dwight, $95,000 professional development grant. Personalized Learning
Dwight is dedicated to igniting the “spark of genius” in every child. Faculty tap into the individual strengths and interests of students, instilling greater confidence as learners and equipping them to “reach for the stars” inside and outside the classroom.
4
Community
Community service is deeply embedded in the traditions of both Dwight and the International Baccalaureate. Students are encouraged to make a difference by giving back to the community — whether across the globe or across the street in Central Park.

Letter from The Dwight School Foundation Board Chair
Dear Parents, Alumni, and Friends of Dwight, On behalf of the Trustees of The Dwight School Foundation, I am delighted to celebrate a successful year of fundraising marked by our community’s steadfast commitment to ensuring that Dwight students receive a world-class personalized education and that faculty members have access to enriching professional development opportunities. Throughout the year — and underscored by the great turnout at our festive Spring Benefit — The Foundation’s tireless Susan Kessler
efforts were matched by your generosity to the Annual Fund. Those
dollars have translated into over 150 educational grants for faculty and financial aid to
to chart their own course for success. What makes all of this possible is your generosity, and we thank you. In addition, we thank the growing number of energetic volunteers whose support, time, and energies help us to connect our constituents in meaningful ways to the School: The Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the Annual Fund Committee, the Senior Gift Committee, the Spring Benefit Committee, the Parents Association, and the Alumni Council. Their efforts to build an engaging community help to bring more funds to The Dwight School Foundation.

The Dwight experience is truly unique; the School is a special place, where children discover and develop their singular “spark of genius” … a place where they are encouraged and mentored by the finest IB faculty … and a place where they are empowered

Three Pillars of the Dwight Community
A Dwight world-class education rests on three pillars: Personalized Learning We focus on developing each student’s unique “spark of genius.” Whether connecting a student with an exceptional mentor, designing tailor-made enrichment, crafting a special study abroad opportunity, or providing a novel program or tutorial, Dwight goes out of its way to recognize and foster each student’s gifts and talents. No two student’s journey is the same. Community We inspire and educate our students through leadership training to improve their communities. Dwight students undertake service projects locally and internationally, and produce written reflections to demonstrate their learning and impact. Dwight students are prepared to serve their communities wherever they go. Global Vision We encourage students to see challenges from a global perspective. Our students interact with peers and faculty from 40 countries, follow the rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum, select from a wide array of world languages, and travel abroad for service projects, athletic competitions, and student leadership conferences. Dwight is the flagship campus and founding member of The Dwight Schools, which includes campuses in London, Seoul, Shanghai, and on Vancouver Island.

Spring Benefit A highlight from this school year was The Dwight School Foundation’s Spring Benefit, held at 583 Park Avenue. More than 425 members of the community came together to support Dwight, netting $122,637 for student financial aid and faculty professional development. The elegant evening included our first sit-down dinner, DJ, dancing, and a video celebrating our wonderful faculty. A special thanks to our emcee, Dianne Drew, and our extraordinary Christie’s auctioneer, Hugo Weihe.

Volunteer Appreciation Reception
The Dwight School Foundation hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception at the Cosmopolitan Club to acknowledge the following groups that play a critical role in supporting The Foundation’s efforts: The Dwight School Foundation Trustees advise and work in conjunction with the Chancel-
lor, Head of School, and The Foundation’s Advancement Office to think critically about how Foundation resources can positively impact the lives of Dwight students and faculty. The Annual Fund Committee solicits gifts from members of the Dwight community to
provide support for student financial aid and faculty professional development. The Senior Gift Committee solicits Annual Fund gifts from twelfth grade families and
helps identify a space to be named in honor of the graduating class. The Parents Association welcomes and connects parents to the community, promotes
volunteerism, encourages attendance at school events, and helps address parent concerns to support faculty and build community spirit. The Alumni Council and Class Representatives help identify and promote meaningful
ways for graduates to get involved with the School and stay connected with each other.

Ways to Give
The Annual Fund is The Foundation’s most important fundraising effort and it is vital to the success of the school. There are many different ways you can make a contribution:
Cash - All cash (including check and credit card) gifts are fully
tax-deductible. Gifts can be made using the attached pledge envelope or online at www.dwight.edu/givingtodwight. Securities - A gift of appreciated stock, which has been held for
more than one year, allows you to avoid the capital gains tax on the appreciation. It also qualifies you for an income tax charitable deduction based on the fair-market value of the stock on the date you make the gift. Matching Gift - Matching gifts are an easy way to increase the
value of your contribution. If you and/or your spouse work for
a matching gift company, please obtain the necessary form from your personnel office and send it along with your gift to The Dwight School Foundation. Make a Pledge - Pledges can be fulfilled with one payment or
multiple payments and simply need to be completed in full by June 30, 2015. AmazonSmile - AmazonSmile is a way to support The Dwight
School Foundation every time you shop, at no cost to you. Every eligible purchase you make on AmazonSmile will result in a 0.5% donation to The Dwight School Foundation. Make Dwight your charity of choice by going to smile.amazon.com today.
For questions about the Annual Fund, please contact Caroline Axelrod ’03, Director of Annual Giving, at 646.400.0312 or caxelrod@dwight.edu.
