and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) posts should be created which should be filled up by direct recruitment through batch and year wise of APTET cleared candidates. He added that no further APTET examination should be conducted till complete absorption of existing APTET qualified candidates. The association also appealed for relaxation of age in respect of in-service SSA teachers who have qualified the ATET examination while regularization against the created post.

Further, the association demanded that APTET should be made compulsory eligible criteria for recruitment of TGT under the department of both elementary and secondary education to have uniformity. It also demanded that re-

cruitment of TGT (secondary) should be conducted through Directorate of Secondary Education and not Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Atung also stated that if TGT teacher aspirants are to be recruited through APPSC then having APTET qualification will hold no meaning. When informed that recruitment of TGT through APPSC is mandatory under Arunachal Pradesh Education Act 2010, Atung said that it can be reviewed and modified. Furthermore, APTETQA stated that the clause “Number of posts may vary” in job advertisements should be removed and stated that there should be minimum number of waiting list candidates for any given interview.

Hailing the verdict of the Supreme Court, Gogoi said that his Government has been all along pressing the urgent need for resolving the fate of tens of thousands of ‘D’ voters hanging in the balance since long. “It’s a good decision on the part of the apex court to restore the voting rights of the ‘D’ voters, an issue hanging in the balance since long. Our Government’s stand was clear on the ‘D’ voters’ issue. Following the apex court verdict, the Election Commission of India must pass on necessary orders to the District Returning Officers to ensure that the ‘D’ voters are able to cast their votes without facing any sort of difficulty,” he added.

A 4 members CID team today arrived at the Salt Brook Academy (SBA) Dibrugarh today on 9 am in connection with the investigation of the Biology question paper leakage. A day ahead of its schedule on March 7, copies of leaked question paper of the Class XII Biology paper were found circulating in social media like WhatsApp in several parts of the state. Just around that time, near the Salt Brook Academy on the boundary wall of a house, it was discovered that someone had scribbled a few questions of the Biology paper with the words “2016 Bio leak” on top and “Please justice” on bottom. Later it was found that the questions matched with the original paper. The investigating team ques-

tioned a few students and officials of the academy today. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) had constituted a committee comprising retired IAS officer LN Tamuli and ex academic registrar of Guwahati University, Jitaram Dutta to inquire into the matter. The Biology paper has been rescheduled to March 19. “We are providing full cooperation with the investigative team. On finding the wall writing we immediately informed the AHSEC. They told us to send them photographs and later they confirmed that it matched with the original question paper. Maybe some student may have scribbled the question paper out of frustration after receiving the leaked paper on the social media. We want the investigating agency find out the truth,” said Salt Brook Academy director Aswini Dowerah.
