The pro-talks faction of ULFA today appealed to the Centre to include recently deported 'general secretary' Anup Chetia in the peace process saying without his participation, the dialogue would remain inconclusive. Chopper crash lands in Nagaland; six hurt Agencies Kohima, Nov 24

Six occupants of a Pawan Hans helicopter were injured when it crash-landed at Meluri helipad in Nagaland's Phek district on Tuesday, a police official said. Those injured included officials of the state government and that of the National Disaster Management Authority, Director-General of Police L.L. Doungel informed. WHEN GAS-OIL PRODUCTION TAKES A HIT Natural gas production in the country declined 1.8 per cent in October 2015 compared to the same m o n t h l a s t y e a r, w h i l e crude oil production fell 2.1 per cent.

Natural gas production during October 2015 was 2795.024 MMSCM (million metric standard cubic meters) which is 6.77 per cent lower than the target for the month and 1.82 per cent lower than the production during the corresponding period of last year.

ONGC saw its onshore fields producing 8.8 per cent more natural gas in October 2015 than in the same month last year, its offshore production was lower by 4.4 per cent of its levels last year.

Private producers seem to be the main cause for the dip in overall production, with their production levels in October coming in at a lower 6.6 per cent of their October 2014 levels.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma claims that the Congress candidate lost in the Nongstoin bye election is due to wrongly informed to the public by the opponents on many issues. HSPDP candidate Diosstarness Jyndiang secured 11,189 votes while Congress candidate Gabriel Wahlang managed to get 8425 vote. Nongstoin is the seat of HSPDP and it was a six time for the party to retain this seat. Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Sangma said, “The reason for our lost in the Nongstoin bye-election is due to wrong information spread by opponents against the good deeds to the electorates of the Congress government”. He denied that the lost of election is due to wrongly selected candidate saying, “Has anyone sure that we lost because of the candidature?.
