seven days, failing which they will be ‘forcefully evicted’ from the premises. Arguing that there are certain norms of allotment and eviction of government quarters and bungalows, the APYC reasoned that since the two are elected representatives they too deserve bungalows as do other elected representatives. “They can continue to occupy the bungalow till an alternative accommodation is arranged by the concerned authority, but asking the occupants to vacate within seven days is illogical and
abnormal”, said APYC spokesperson Niglar Veo. The APYC demanded that the concerned authority reconsider its biased order and show impartiality while allocating bungalows to the elected representatives, and requested that occupants be provided sufficient time period till alternative arrangements are made by the allocating authority (Housing). As expected, Kalikho Pul led government has started showing its vindictive attitude towards the Congress legislators.
Saying that the Pul-led Government has started showing its vindictive attitude towards the Congress legislators, the APYC reminded Pul that even after dropping of several ministers during the Congress Government they were not issued vacate orders and were rather allowed to retain their bungalows for an indefinite period. “Pul must also understand that the legality of his government is sub-judice and his arbitrary decision will be mocked by the courts soon”, added Veo.

BJP President Amit Shah today hit out at Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi saying the state made no progress and during his 15-year tenure, which only saw unprecedented corruption and illegal infiltration. Addressing election campaign meetings at these two places, he promised that BJP would take Assam on the road of progress if voted to power
by ensuring a corruption-free government and stopping illegal infiltration from Bangladesh. "Corruption is highest in Assam. No money is being spent for development of roads, electricity supply, building good hospitals. If you search, the money sent for development will be found in the ministers' houses," Shah claimed. He held the Congress-led state government "responsible" for "people remaining below the poverty line, 42 per cent not
receiving clean drinking water, no electricity, no proper facilities for adivasi tea garden workers, increased maternal and child mortality rate, and 19,000 incidents of atrocities against women." The central government gave funds for several development schemes but Gogoi could not give (project) completion certificates when asked for and that is why development has remained halted in Assam, he claimed. Majuli-the land which still awaits govt.'s attention ET Correspondent Jorhat, Mar 25
Prime Minister Narendra Modiwill kick-off the BJP's poll campaign in Assam tomorrow by addressing public meetings in Tinsukia, Majuli, Bihpuria, Bokakhat and Jorhat. He will become the first Prime Minister to visit Majuli, an island located in between river Brahmaputra and Lohit. The people have pinned high hopes and expectations from the visit of Prime Minister
Modi, who will also address a gathering of 8,000 people on the Kerala Gaon field in Garmur area of the island. The Prime Minister will also be addressing rallies at Rangapara and Hailakandi on Sunday. Majuli, which is the biggest river island in the world, holds a 60-decade old cultural heritage landscape. However, the landscape still awaits basic development despite 67 years of independence. The land-
scape is connected with the Jorhat town only by a 50minute long ferry boat service. The beautiful island, with a total area of 1,250 square kilometers, still is a victim of government's negligence. Many governments in Assam, including the AGP, and present Congress government, which is ruling since last 15 years, have failed to build a connecting bridge to Majuli from Jorhat. Contd. on Page 4

District Task Force meeting on NSD held ET Correspondent Pasighat, Mar 23: "tOPV (trivalent oral polio vaccine) will be completely withdrawn replaced by bOPV (bivalent oral polio vaccine) on the ensuing National Switch Day (NSD), scheduled to be held on April-25" informed DC Isha Khosla while holding the first District Task Force meeting on NSD on Wednesday. Highlighting the significance of NSD, Khosla said though East Siang too has achieved tremendous success in polio eradication would join with enthusiasm and zeal with rest part of the nation on NSD. She exhorted the medical fraternity to work out detailed preparedness to launch the program successful. Taking privilege, she instructed DDSE to prepare a list of all registered, unregistered and private schools and to forward the report to medical department so that medical team could conduct routine health checkup in all schools on regular basis. DMO Dr. M. Perme and DRCHO Dr. T Gao opined that switch also must be a globally coordinated process. Any use of tOPV after April 2016 could jeopardize polio eradication by generating circulating vaccinederived polioviruses from the type 2 component of the vaccine. Removal of OPVs would be done in a phased manner, from both routine programs and campaigns, to minimize the risk of new polio cases. The first phase of OPV removal is a switch from the current trivalent oral polio vaccine (tOPV), containing antigens for poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, to bivalent OPV (bOPV), containing only types 1 and 3. The department will ensure validation of "NO tOPV" at all vaccine storage points in the government and of commercial suppliers and all the sterilized waste of tOPV will be disposed off safely in the district. The meeting was attended by JDHS Dr. K Lego, DDSE Obuk Panor, DD (ICDS) PE Angu, medical officers and ZPMs as members.

said the chief minister. Also urging them to report on any lapses in the functioning of the government, he appreciated the hard work put by the candidates in passing the recently concluded test for APPSC examinations. “I understand that many government rules are obso-
lete and it pains me to see that it took three years for the APPSC examinations to finally conclude. To prevent any such future inconveniences, your support to the government in taking corrective measures is highly essential,” he said. Taking serious note of the one and half month delay in joining the 11-month police training course at North East Police Academy in Shillong, the chief minister ordered for immediate expediting of all formal procedures for their immediate appointment in the services. Good Friday observed by Christians in Itanagar He also advised the selected candidates to encourage future aspirants of the civil services. “You must share with them your stories of hardships, stories that will inspire. Keep writing in newspapers and social media,” he urged.
A prepared society is always safe: DC ET Correspondent Pasighat, Mar 22: "A prepared society is always safe" stated East Siang Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla while holding a series of high-level meeting with the doctors, police, officers, councilors, PRI leaders and representatives of NGOs to discuss on preparedness and early launching of intensified drive aiming source reduction of dengue. After threadbare discussion and reviewing the measures taken to control spread of dengue last year, Khosla lauded the efforts of DMO Dr. M Perme and his team for good management stating that "Dengue Fever"
was rearing its ugly head again in the district last year with new cases of infections but there have been no mortality. She advised to prepare suitable long-term plan for the current year along with immediate and emergency measures. Severe water-logging due to construction activities in the township and lack of awareness amongst the common masses might become breeding grounds for the deadly Aedes mosquitoes. People must work with health authorities in preventing accumulation of materials where water gets stored allowing mosquitoes to breed. Municipal Council along with medical team,

"Gogoi cannot give a government that will help the poor, only BJP can. Assam's people gave him 15 years. But Assam remained where it was or went backwards when the rest of the country progressed," the BJP president said. "You ask Tarun Gogoi what he has done for Assam during his last 15 years in power here. He sent a Prime Minister from Assam to the
Rajya Sabha for 10 years. What did he do for making railway lines double-track? Nothing. He only talked and there is unprecedented corruption," Shah said. BJP and development have become synonymous, he said, adding where there is NDA and BJP government, there is development. To buttress his point, he named states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa.
In these states, he claimed, hospitals and primary health centres were built in each village, clean drinking water and electricity supplied in each household and higher secondary science schools opened in each tehsil. Asserting that Narendra Modi started working for Assam as soon as he became Prime Minister, Shah said, "A scientific plan was undertaken for controlling floods in Assam, plans are afoot for making railway lines double track, Rs

Besides, the artistes from Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Delhi also took part in the festival. “I have come to enjoy this wonderful cultural show and I am very happy to be here. India’s ‘Unity in diversity’ is well-justified in the
show, and we have got a chance to witness various cultures, and the power and strength of different states. It’s a wonderful programme,” said Joydev Acharya, one of the spectators. Fakira Khan Bisala, a participant from Rajasthan, said that he was fortunate to attend the event as he got the opportunity to witness the cultures of different states. “We got to meet many children and got a chance to share each other’s cultures and talents. We visited Tripura for the first time and I must say, people here are so lively, who listened to us and appreciated our show,” he added. Basir Ahamed Bagda, a participant from Jammu and Kashmir, said such shows encourage the young artistes.
“The NSD has given a platform to talented children and such a cultural show will definitely encourage our artistes. This shows how important our young artistes and culture are in India. We are here to witness the cultural diversity of Tripura. Tripura is a peaceful state. We are impressed by the cleanliness maintained all over and we hope such a festival is organised again,” he said.
According to a release today the project is a science-based conservation
effort spearheaded by Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) India Programme and WCS Myanmar, the WCS India, along with the Nagaland Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Trust and the WCS of Myanmar have collaboratively initiated a long-term vision, reconnecting tiger and other wildlife populations in the Indo-Myanmar region. As wildlife densities are low due to different
threats such as poaching and habitat loss, WCS said it was working with the Myanmar Government to increase the numbers of threatened species such as tigers. The release said quoting Varun Goswami, Senior Scientist at WCS India, who is leading these efforts. “Such large-scale wildlife movement is impossible without the support of people living in this region. Our focus is to help animals move while safe-
guarding the lives and livelihoods of people. Community-based conservation is the foundation of our project. There is little knowledge on where the animals are and where they move. To obtain this information, WCS India will undertake large-scale surveys to assess wildlife distribution,” added Goswami. Agartala/Aizawl, Mar 25: On an average, five percent of tuberculosis (TB) patients die each year in India’s northeastern region, an expert said on Thursday. “On an average, five percent of the total TB patients die in northeast India every year. The national average is also the same,” TB expert Babul Das told IANS. Das, who has attended many national and international scientific and medical events on TB, while quoting the World TB report 2015, said India continues to account for 23 percent of the global TB burden. “Each year, about 2.2 million people develop TB in India
and an estimated 220,000 (rpt 220,000) people expire due to the disease which clearly explains that more steps must be taken to check the ailment,” he said. The expert said that in most cases, due to lack of awareness and treatment, TB turned into cancer and HIV-positive, and many patients also die of a heart attack. World TB Day was observed on Thursday across the northeast. Seminars, workshops and awareness rallies were held. Das, who is also associasted with the Tripura health department, said that last year (2015), as many as 2,528 TB patients were diagnosed and put under treatment in Tripura.

These are the questions that are most important for connectivity conservation.” WCS pointed out that conservation of umbrella species like the tiger would safeguard the health of entire ecosystems and the people who live within them.
Sikkim has grown a large floriculture industry giving the local florists a chance to earn their livelihood and providing a platform for budding entrepreneurs.
“In 2015, at least 11 people died due to TB in Tripura. The success rate in the state is 89 percent,” he added. In Aizawl, Mizoram Health Minister Lal Thanzara said that at least 38 people died due to TB in his state last year. “In 2015, around 2,090 people were found to be carrying the disease. Over 84 percent of TB patients were cured after treatment in the state last year,” the minister said at a function held on the occasion of World TB Day. He said that many modern equipment and machinery have been installed in district hospitals in Mizoram to treat TB patients. (Agencies)

Imphal, Mar 25: Manipur Police are looking for an advocate who forged a court order to draw Rs.17 lakh from the pension account of a former state legislator who had died 14 years ago. Advocate Zia Ur Rahman is alleged to have fraudulently taken Rs.17 lakh from the pension account of late Abdul Latif who had been a legislator representing the Mayang Imphal assembly constituency, said a police officer. Rahman acted as counsel in a family court for the four wives of Abdul Latif, and claimed their late husband's pension and property, the police officer said. The family court ruled that the first three wives are legal wives. However, police sources said counsel tampered with
the order of the family court to withdraw money from the late lawmaker's pension account. On a complaint filed by fourth wife Nahapishak Bibi, the state police made the other three wives -Rashida Bibi, Leiphon Bibi and Tombi Bibi -- the accused in the alleged fraud. Later police investigation showed that it was advocate Zia Ur Rahman who had taken undue advantage of the illiteracy of the three wives to forge the family court order. "There are numerous cases of forgery to draw illegally pension and other benefits," a police officer said. If prima facie a case is established, there will be demands to strike off Rahman's name from the membership list of the All Manipur Bar Association, said an advocate.

Prez has right to nominate, appoint US Supreme Court Justice
Washington D.C., Mar. 25 (ANI): Legal experts from the University of Illinois have claimed that the position of Supreme Court Justice in theUnited Sates may be more problematic, both pragmatically and constitutionally, than those senators realize. The views of the two experts in a new paper cowritten by them came after the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia when the Republican senators, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, announced that they would neither consider nor vote on any nominee to the court picked by President Barack Obama. Law professor Robin B. Kar said the senators justify their position by saying that
JNU students rising slogans over tags like 'anti-national' massive backlash from the Centre and the Delhi Police over the event at the campus on February 9 where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised. While Kanhaiya is out on interim bail and has already launched a frontal attack on
"This is an important and unbroken line of historical precedent," Kar added. By announcing in advance that they will break from this precedent, Senate Republicans are explicitly seeking to delegate the current President's Supreme Court appointment powers to an unknown successor, which is constitutionally tenuous ground. President Barack Obama no President has nominated a Supreme Court Justice during an election year in the last 80 years. However, Kar's research shows that in all 104 cases in which an elected President has faced a vacancy on
the Supreme Court and began the appointment process prior to the election of a successor, the sitting President was able to both nominate and, with the advice and consent of the Senate, appoint a replacement justice.
The crux of the problem is an outright refusal on the part of some senators to consider any nominee from President Obama is an attempt to delegate an elected president's Supreme Court appointment power. This does not mean that the Senate cannot vote against President Obama's nominees, the author cautioned.
However, an outright refusal to do anything at all with respect to a Supreme Court nominee is a different matter, the authors said. At minimum, the unprecedented nature of Republican senators' current plan is likely to make future Supreme Court appointments more difficult for Republicans and Democrats alike, Kar added. For example, if Hillary Clinton wins the next presidential election, Obama might withdraw the nomination of Merrick Garland, a relative consensus candidate, and allow her to appoint a more liberal justice. LeT, JeM have been assets of Pak: Defence Expert on Headley's revelation New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): Defence Expert P.K. Sehgal on Friday said 26/11 Mumbai terror attack operativeDavid Coleman Headley's explosive revelation categorically brings forth the fact that the LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) have been assets of Pakistan. "He (Headley) doesn't pick up hatred for his own people and armed forces but for the Indian Army for having liberated those people from the vicious rule of Pakistani Army. His disposition categorically brings forth the fact that LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed have been assets of Pakistan, they were fully funded and morally supported by Pakistani Army and the ISIS," Sehgal told ANI here. "Pakistan has been saying that they don't have any control on them (LeT and Jaish-eMohammed). He has exposed Pakistan that they are not nonstate actor but state actors. Since the bluff has been called and Pakistan stands fully exposed hereafter Indians must react in a manner similar to a military operation like in 48, 71 or 99," he added. Sehgal further said that Pakistan should be blamed for the 1971 war as the war was initiated by Islamabad and that India never targeted any civilians or any schools. "Headley's contention that he
developed hatred for India as India had bombed the school in which he was studying, well to an extent if that is true Pakistan itself has to be blamed. The 71 war like everybody knows was initiated by Pakistan. That fight started when Pakistan had strike on air fields and India responded very viciously, in that strike we never targeted any civilians or hit any school unless the school was involved in hiding in certain military activity or involved in something which was inimical as far as India was concerned," he added. In an explosive revelation during his cross examination presently underway in a Mumbai sessions court, Headley expressed his vehement hatred for India, saying that ever since Indian planes bombed his school and people working there died during the India Pakistan war in 1971, he was looking for revenge which led to him joining the Lashkar-eTaiba ( LeT). Headley also said that then Pakistan prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani had visited his house after the terror strikes. Headley revealed that Geelani had come to his house following the death of his father on December 25, 2008, who was a retired Director General of Radio Pakistan.
Brussels attack: Six arrested for suicide bombings London,Mar.25 (ANI): The Belgian Police has arrested six people in connection with Tuesday's airport and metro suicide bombings in Brussels, while the authorities in France said they thwarted a militant plot 'that was at an advanced stage' there. Federal prosecutors confirmed that six unidentified people were arrested, including three who were de-
tained outside the prosecutors' own office, in the centre of Brussels. Two others were arrested in the Belgian capital and one person was arrested in Jette on the city's outskirts. The prosecutors released more evidence that the attacks were carried out by the same Islamic State of Iraq and Syria network responsible for November's
carnage in Paris and two suspects are still believed to be on the run, reports Guardian. The operation involving Swat teams and armoured cars with helicopter support began soon after 9 p.m. The arrests came days after suicide bombers hit the Brussels airport and a metro train, killing at least 31 people and wounding some
270 in the worst such attack in Belgian history. The attack in Brussels, which is home to the European Union and NATO, has heightened security concerns around the world and raised questions about European countries' response to the threat from Islamist extremists. Other reports suggested an attack may have been
planned for Easter Monday. The high-security inner areas of a nuclear power station would almost certainly have been beyond the reach of militants such as the brothers, security experts told the Belgian media. But 140 soldiers were dispatched to guard the country's three nuclear sites earlier this month. And after Tuesday's bombings, the
sites were sealed and nonessential staff evacuated as a precaution. Turkey has accused Belgium of ignoring warnings about Ibrahim el-Bakraoui, one of the two suicide bombers who detonated suitcase bombs at Zaventem airport. The Belgian officials have rejected Turkish allegations of inaction following Ibrahim el-Bakraoui's de-
portation last July, saying the foreigners suspected of fighting in Syria cannot be detained without evidence. Bakraoui was on parole after serving half of a 10-year sentence for armed robbery. All the Brussels attackers identified by the police and prosecutors so far have links to Salah Abdeslam, the sole survivor of the 10 jihadis who killed 130
people in Paris last November. Brussels airport is likely to remain closed until Saturday, with passengers diverted to Antwerp, Liege and Lille in France. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria released a video on Thursday, calling on its followers to wage jihad after the Brussels bombings for which it claimed responsibility on Tuesday.

'RAW officer' arrested in Balochistan for 'sponsoring' terrorism
Beijing, Mar 25: A total of 17 people have been detained in China following the publication of a letter calling on President Xi Jinping to resign. The letter was posted earlier this month on a statebacked website Wujie News. Although quickly deleted by the authorities, a cached version can still be found online, BBC reported. In most countries the contents of the letter would be run-of-the-mill political polemic.
A security official told Dawn that the 'RAW officer' had been shifted to Islamabad for interrogation, as he was suspected
of involvement in various acts of terrorism and other dissident activities in Balochistan. "The spy had links with separatist elements in Balochistan," said the security official, adding that the individual was also involved in acts of terrorism and terror attacks in Karachi. Confirming the arrest, Balochistan Home Minis-
ter Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said, "the arrest has proved Indian involvement in Balochistan", Bugti said. He added that the man was 'sponsoring terrorist and subversive activities' in Balochistan. Last year, Bugti claimed that RAW and NDS are behind the funding and training of Baloch Republican Army militants.

whether the plea agreement reflected the truth of the matter, saying that while the US has arrested "quite a few 'Chinese spies'... most of them proved to be innocent". Bangladesh top court confirms Islamist’s death sentence Dhaka, Mar 25: Bangladesh supreme court has upheld the death penalty of a top Islamist militant for carrying out a bomb attack in 2005 that had left eight secular activists dead, authorities said on Thursday. "The appellate division of the supreme court yesterday (Wednesday) confirmed the death penalty of JMB (Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh) operative Asaduzzaman Chowdhury, upholding the trial court and the subsequent high court judgments," a spokesman of the attorney general's office told PTI. Eight people had died and 40 others injured in the 2005 attack on the offices of two secular groups that organized cultural events. JMB was banned after a series of bombings across the country in 2005. A special Dhaka court in 2008 had handed down Chowdhury and two other fellow JMB members the death penalty. His other two accomplices were tried in absentia and are still on the run. JMB's founder Shaikh Abdur Rahman and five of his key associates were hanged in March 2007 and hundreds of JMB men were hunted down as Bangladesh launched a massive antimilitancy campaign.

Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli destiny' will go misspent if anyone is left behind. Make no mistake, the Asian future
should rest on the citadel of inclusiveness," he added.
Oli said that the advancements in innovation and technology had opened avenues for the development of Asia. He further said the momentous development in information and communication technology, significant achievements in industrial production had potential to vitalise the economic performance and to galvanise the future of Asia. Stating that such innovations must serve the cause of human progress, Oli said technology should be accessible to all the states
without any prohibitive constraint, adding that the vision of Asia should be accommodative and inclusive. Though the markets were flourishing, industries were growing, jobs were being created and many of the Asians had been lifted out of the poverty, he said, the vicious circle of poverty still stared at courtyard of Asia. The Prime Minister also thanked all the states of Asia for supporting promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal.

Malnutrition 41.6% of Gujarat's kids stunted Individuals are malnourished, or suffer from undernutrition if their diet does not provide them with adequate calories and protein for maintePhoto: motherchildnutrition nance and growth, or they cannot fully utilize the food they eat due to illness. People are also malnourished, or suffer from overnutrition if they consume too many calories Malnutrition can also be defined as the insufficient, excessive or imbalanced consumption of nutrients. Several different nutrition disorders may develop, depending on which nutrients are lacking or consumed in excess. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition is the gravest single threat to global public health. Underweight births and inter-uterine growth restrictions are responsible for about 2.2 million child deaths annually in the world. Deficiencies in vitamin A or zinc cause 1 million deaths each year. WHO adds that malnutrition during childhood usually results in worse health and lower educational achievements during adulthood. Malnourished children tend to become adults who have smaller babies. Gujarat is battling malnutrition, with around 10.1% children in the state being grossly underweight and 41.6% of children showing stunted growth. These are the findings of the Rapid Survey on Children, a nationwide sample survey of over one lakh households, conducted by Unicef, the report of which was accepted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The report suggests over 41.6% children in Gujarat are stunted and 18.3% are severely stunted, for their age. The report 'Rapid Survey on Children' surveyed 1.05 lakh families in the country and met 2.10 people, including 90,000 children in the age group of 0 to 4 years. The revelation underscores how malnutrition continues to torment Gujarat, an economically progressive state whose development model is to be replicated across India by the Union government. According to the survey, 41.6% of children in Gujarat are stunted. Some 18.3% of the state's kids are categorized as being 'severely stunted'. The survey also found that 33.6% of children were underweight for their age, with 10.1% being categorized as 'severely underweight'. The number of severely underweight children is 11.3% in rural areas and 8.2% in urban areas. Among scheduled tribes, the proportion of severely underweight children is 13.8%. Sources said this proportion of stunted children is greater than the national average which is 38.80% in India. Similarly, the proportion of underweight children in the country is 29.40% while in Gujarat it is 33.50%. The socio-economic review 2015-16 had revealed that 1.47 lakh of the 43 lakh children at anganwadis in the state were found to be suffering from severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Also according to replies tabled in the state assembly, there are 1.97 lakh malnourished and 24,762 SAM children in 46 talukas of five districts in the state Banaskantha, Patan, Navsari, Junagadh and Kheda.
Brussels Attack Strikes Claimed by ISIS It can be said as the deadliest assault on the European heartland since the Islamic State's attacks on Paris four months ago, hitting the airport and subway system in coordinated strikes that were also claimed by the militant extremist group. The bombings paralyzed Brussels, the headquarters of the European Union and NATO, prompted international travel warnings to avoid Belgium and reverberated across the Atlantic to the United States, where New York and other major cities raised terrorism threat levels. Anxieties intensified about the inability to prevent mass killings at relatively unprotected places. The Islamic State (IS) group said it was behind the attacks in a statement issued on the ISlinked Amaq agency. Belgium has raised its terrorism alert to its highest level. Three days of national mourning have been declared. Raids, arrests and forensic analysis are some of the tools investigators are using to get to the bottom of who was behind the attacks in Brussels, which killed 31 people and wounded 270 others. Two of the bombers were brothers. And one of the bombers at the airport appears to be a man authorities named as a suspect in the Paris terror attacks. The explosions reignited terror concerns only four days after police captured the most-wanted suspect in last year's Paris terrorist attacks, which killed 130 people. Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders said no information suggested the attack was linked to the arrest of the suspect, Salah Abdeslam, who was captured in Brussels. The Islamic State group subsequently issued an updated communique threatening other countries taking part in the anti-ISIS coalition. The statement promised "dark days" for countries allied against the Islamic State, threatening that "what is coming is worse and more bitter." Attackers set off two bombs, which contained nails, at the Zaventem airport, sending passengers fleeing. Few countries have been more vulnerable than Belgium. Among European countries, Belgium has the highest proportion of citizens and residents who have traveled to Syria or Iraq, insular Muslim communities that have helped shield jihadists, and security services that have had persistent problems conducting effective counterterrorism operations.

Sir, The Higher Secondary school certificate, Science examination is just over. To-day, (March 20), I went to enquire about one of my nieces (my cousin's daughter) on how she had fared in the examination. Incidentally, they are not financially sound, braving the poverty, she could secure 89% in her H.S.L.C examination. We the people of Assam know that only the papers on two subjects viz Physics and Biology were leaked. But I was shocked when she had let me know that apart from the said two subjects, papers on other two subjects, viz Mathematics and Chemistry too got leaked. As it was confined to a handful of well-to-do- examinees, the matter did not attract much public-
ity. The Higher Secondary council with a worthless Education minister at the helm, the education scenario involving the future of the students of the state is deplorable. Now that the state assembly poll is round the corner, it remains to be seen how will the people of Assam react. People want a change. But nobody can predict what lies in store for the people.

More sadden-
ing is the fact that up to seven in every ten women face physical/sexual abuse in some countries of the world. Approximately three million girls under the age of 15 remain at the risk of FGM/ C annually as per a WHO report and more than 130 million women and girls have been accounted so far who have already been through the procedure worldwide. The rest of the female population isn't secure either. More than 700 million women alive today are estimated to have been married as children and this section of women and girls are more vulnerable to domestic violence as well as complications during maternity. The situation seems quite alarming as these facts come to the limelight because these are not mere figures, these are actual human lives. It's high time for a makeover now. We need to join hands and say a big 'No' to violence against women. A small step was taken by the United Nations in this direction in the year 1995 when the UN and the Inter-Parliamentary Union jointly declared the 25th of November as the day of International Observance for Elimination of

The date?25 November?was chosen to commemorate the three Mirabal sisters, political activists who were brutally assassinated in 1960 under the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo (1930-1961) in the Dominican Republic. Another baby step forward was taken the previous year with the introduction of United Nations' Secretary General's 'UNiTE to End Violence Against Women Cam-

This was planned to be stretched from 25 November up to 10 December, i.e., The Human Rights Day ? a sixteenday campaign to end gender-biased violence. More than the growth of any religious community, it is the atheists who have grown the most. In fact, their numbers have grown around four times in over a decade. Hindutva rhetoric, though, seeks to change the puz-
civilisation well before the Christian Era and a lot of their beliefs have been preserved in our ancient literature. Also, Lord Rama is lectured by a great scholar Jabali on the folly of hisDharmic beliefs in Ramayana. The

Beyond any shade of doubt it is Swadeshiculture. Banaras Hindu University has sought the help of experts to teach the students the 'ills' of western civilisation. As if everything else is alright with our civilisation. The project is meant to curb this growing proclivity towards atheism in India. Around three million people in India fall in the category of 'religion not stated', read atheists and agnostics, if the census of 2011 is to be believed. The point to ponder over for the Hindutva brigade is that this category of people has shown exponential expansion from around seven lakhs shown in the census of 2001.

Antisuperstition activist Narendra Dabholkar was killed in Pune. M. M. Kalburgi, a Kannadiga rationalist had a running feud with the Hindutva brigade. It so happens that religious skepticism and heterodoxy has been the genetic trait of Indian culture. If India makes a claim to the status of civilisation, there are many things it can't leave out. Atheistic schools like that of Charvaka had emerged in Indian
only religion which is fully agonistic in the world is Buddhism, and it emerged in India. The worrisome thing in the case of India is that India and its society is being polarised. The most prestigious institutes in India have been made into a battleground to score political points. Establishing and promoting the scientific educational institutes and then expecting that religious beliefs will not be under fire is a big error of judgement. Courtesy: youthkiawaaz
bers, school, libraries and post offices. Project orange lights and hang orange flags onto local landmarks, tie orange ribbons where you are allowed and organise local 'orange marches' on 25 November to raise awareness about violence against women and discuss solutions that would work for your community." It was basically about colouring the world with orange and sending a message to people to
realise that women, too, are humans and the they need humane treatment. This indeed was an appreciable effort and measures like these need to be taken to make this world a better place to live in. Awareness is a fundamental requirement for ending the social evils, crimes and violent practices against women in different parts of the world. The efficiency of women is recognised to a great extent in the growing economies of the world. Approximately 50% of the workforce today are women; women are emerging as some of the most influential personalities in politics, the corporate world, art and many other fields. Girls' excellence in education is proven by statistics such as those of enrollment which is, for example, 140 and 150 women in America and Sweden in higher education for every 100 men respectively. Various studies have also proven that women are, increasingly, performing better than men in the workplace and in academics. These facts, though, are nullified by cruel acts against, the subjugation of and through frightening the
'better' half in this maleoriented world of ours. To overcome these mentalities we do need awareness campaigns, commemoration days, weeks and fortnights. They are worth the issue. But these things become heartbreaking jokes when a girl is raped in some corner of the globe on that very day. The fear of being hit, raped, molested, killed and strangled is the first feeling of a girl as she steps out of her cocoon into the world. This fear needs to be prevented from becoming a habit for yet another generation to come. Equality, empowerment, opportunity are big words meant to address this big issue. But the very basic need is 'being human to every other human' (whether a man or a woman). More baby steps are to be taken with the hope that slowly the idea of respecting women would become embedded in their male counterparts. We might fall and get hurt but it is always for the better to stand up again. Hands are to be joined and heads held high, to abolish this 'everyday reality', to act now, always and forever before it's too late. Courtesy: youthkiawaaz
The State's Ignorance Of Marital Rape Reveals How 'Customs' Are Valued More Than Consent It is saddening to know that marital rape is still legal in India. The reason given for not criminalising it is even more distressing, and that is the Indian tradition and value system. The fact that custom is valued m o r e than consent is enough to make us understand how far we are from realising real societal reform. In a country like ours where we are moving forward in terms of economic development, social development has taken a back seat. The question thus raised is, can we really ensure the growth of India if the mindset plaguing this country is not done away with? Neither our judiciary nor our political parties have ever taken a tough stand on the issue of marital rape being treated as a criminal offense. The stance taken byManeka Gandhi of the BJP is not new or unique to the party but is also shared by various other political parties. For example, after the Nirbhaya gang rape protests, the Congress-led UPA government appointed a three-member commission headed by Justice J.S. Verma to introduce necessary recommendations to deal with the malignant issue of sexual violence. The Commission had recommended criminalisation of marital rape but it was sadly ignored by the party back then. If we take into consideration the institution of marriage in the Indian context, then, the position of a wife is always considered subordinate to that of her husband. Even though both the husband and the wife are expected to work towards ensuring spiritual and sexual gratification together, the wife always has to occupy the position below that of her husband's. Marriage is considered a sacrament wherein a wife submits herself to the will of the husband. Sex becomes a right for the husband and he has every right to demand it from his wife irrespective of whether the partner is willing or not. These customs may have made sense when they had taken birth but can we justify the same practice in the present context? They may not make sense to me and numerous people read-
ing this article but they still do to a major chunk of our Indian population. Leaving aside the traditional beliefs, a typical misconception that also tends to harm the society as a whole is that m e n a r e naturally inclined to sexual gratification hence it is very natural for them to be overtly demanding of the same. It totally chooses to ignore the fact that females too are creations of nature just like males are and that they too have sexual needs. It also encourages men

into the open that wives died during violent acts of sex being forced upon them, insertion of foreign objects into their vaginas and so on and so forth, no concrete step has been taken to ensure that this gargantuan malevolence is curbed. Many are of the view that if at all marital rape is treated as a criminal offense, it will be misused by many just like section 498A of the Indian Penal Code is. Another argument put forward by many, quite foolish to be taken into consideration, is that rape by a husband will be difficult or

to go to any extent imaginable, or unimaginable, to meet their sexual needs and assert their power and dominance over their female counterparts. According to a survey conducted by the United Nations in the year 2013, a quarter of 100,000 men from the Asia Pacific region including India admitted to having forced sexual intercourse upon their wives since they felt they were entitled to it. Similarly, another survey by the National Family and Health Survey revealed that 93% of women who faced sexual abuse admitted to having been raped by their current or former husbands. What is even more alarming is the fact that less than 1% of these women decided to file a police complaint against their spouses. And even if they did, it is a known fact that they could not have demanded criminal prosecution on the grounds of marital rape simply because our legal system does not treat rape by husbands as rape. Despite stories coming out
impossible to prove. For the latter argument, many experts have argued that rape by the husband can be proven just the way any other case of rape is proven. As far as the former argument is concerned, just because certain laws are misused by a certain section of the population, does it mean marital rape should not be treated as a criminal act at all? Shouldn't an innocent victim of sexual abuse expect judicial relief from an abusive relationship? People who are responsible for the efficient running of this country should take solid measures to ensure both judicial as well as societal reform. In conclusion, all I would like to do is quote Ambedkar to further strengthen my argument. "Rights are protected not by law but by the social and moral conscience of society‌ if fundamental rights are opposed by the community, no Law, no Parliament, no judiciary, can guarantee them in the real sense of the word." Rs.20 crore plan to set up testing labs drawn by IIP Roorkee, Mar 25: Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), a government body, has drawn up Rs.20-crore plan to establish laboratories in Chennai to carry out physical, chemical and transport worthiness tests of packaging materials used for exporting hazardous goods, a top official said. IIP Director N.C. Saha said: "Our main aim is to promote the export market by way of innovative package design and development as well as to upgrade the packaging standards. "We are authorised by Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Directorate General of Shipping to carry out test of bulk packages intended to be used for carriage of dangerous goods either by sea or airport and then issue test reports and the U.N. certificate to the packaging material manufacturers." As per the plan, IIP plans to construct a five-storey building, spread over 50,000 sq.mts, in three phases at Perungudi in Chennai. It would house Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container (FIBC) testing laboratory and transport testing laboratory along with other infrastructural facilities. In the first phase, IIP will invest Rs. 3 crore to construct FIBC lab which would become operational by June. "It will be the second (such) facility to come up in the country after Mumbai. It will also be the first one in the South. We chose Perungudi near Chennai as most of the hazardous goods from South are exported through bulk containers from Chennai Port and airport. We will inspect all types of goods apart from radioactive and contagious ones," he said. According to him, most of jumbo bags or bulk container manufacturers are located in Tamil Nadu. While the suppliers are aware of the recent regulations on packaging for hazardous goods, exporters are not. In case of deficiency in packaging or untoward event, the exporter is penalised. "At the Perungudi facility, we can conduct 20 cyclical and drop tests. Currently, we are carrying out testing at exporters' site (in Chennai). This will be suspended once our lab becomes operational," he said. (Agencies)

We started mapping the areas where the bookings were being made from and invariably pointed at places close to Ola's office premise." "We noticed this across three locations Gurgaon, Noida and Mysore where this activity was highly being employed. Image for representational purpose. (Photo: idashboards) ANI New Delhi, Mar. 25: The ASSOCHAM has in its study pointed out that sales of smartphones in the country are set to shoot up to 160 million in fiscal year 2017 from 100 million this year on the back of prices
becoming affordable for a larger number of people. It said that the in-built camera, other internet-enabled features, coupled with replacement of ordinary phones with the smart devices at a rapid pace were few of the rea-
sons. The sales of smartphone almost doubled from 44 million units in 2013 to 100 million units in 2016 and is expected to touch 160 million units by 2017, the ASSOCHAM is its latest study said. With the smartphones serving the needs of amateur photographers and enthusiasts, the demand for the digital camera sales, however, dropped by more than 35 percent in the past one year. The affordable smartphones priced between Rs. 4000-10,000 accounts for accounts for 78 percent of all smartphone sales equipped with almost similar features which a customer gets in sub-Rs 10,000 cameras which has reduced the need for digital cameras. In the survey
conducted, most of the respondents said the biggest advantage of clicking pictures with smartphones is that they can be shared instantly with your friends and family; a feature which is absent with most of the point and short cameras. "The technology is changing at such a fast pace that the product developers have to think ahead of times; or else the top selling products of the present times can become outdated, without the manufacturers and those dominating the market today realising it," said ASSOCHAM Secretary D.S. Rawat. Rawat added that another feature of the smart devices market in India is that the country has a huge telephone subscribers' base of about a billion users who are be-
coming aspirational. About 93 percent of the customers now prefer smartphones over digital camera for both photos and video capture. Almost 75 percent of the sales of Mobiles and Tablets came from consumers' residing in Tier-I and Tier -II cities. Meanwhile, the sales of personal Computer, MP3 players have already started declining with the impact of smartphone and tablet adoption. The study said that one of the reasons for the subsequent rise in the demand of smart phones is due to increase in social networking site. Rawat asserted that youth in the country share photographs online and upload photographs, which have become a new trend in the metros the need for smart phones has risen.

here in terms of revenues (Rs 878 crore) and Spanish clothing brand Zara (Rs 720 crore) are two leading global brands that do not have accumulated losses, according to regulatory filings. Puma follows calendar year for reporting business numbers, while most of the other brands such as Benetton, Adidas and Zara follow April-toMarch financial year. losses of around Rs 68 crore, while Reebok, which is owned by it, has accumulated losses of around Rs 2,198 crore with sales of around Rs 332 crore in FY15. P&K fertlisers for FY17 fixed by Govt. at Rs 21,274 crore
Image for representational purpose. (Photo: gmoinside) Pune, Mar 25: Government recently fixed the subsidy rates of phosphatic and potassic (P&K) fertlisers for the next fiscal with an estimated outgo of Rs 21,274 crore. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved fixation of Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for P&K fertlisers for 2016-17, due to decreasing trend in global prices of finished fertlisers and raw materials. "At the same level of consumption of P&K fertilisers (about 310.44 lakh tonnes) during 201617 as in 2015-16, the total subsidy implication on P&K fertilizers for 201617 at proposed rates works out to be about Rs 21,274 crore," an official statement said. The
CCEA approved Rs 15.854 per kg for Nitrogen (N), Rs 13.241 per kg for phosphorous (P), Rs 15.470 per kg potash (P) and Rs 2.044 per kg for sulphur (S). The government has been implementing NBS policy for decontrolled P&K fertlizers since April 2010. Under this policy, the subsidy on P&K fertilisers is announced annually for each nutrient i.e. Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), Potash (K) and Sulphur (S) on per kg basis which is converted into subsidy per tonne depending upon the nutrient content in each grade of the fertilisers. These rates are determined taking into account the international and domestic prices of P&K fertilisers, exchange rate, inventory level in the country etc. (Agencies)

WOMEN'S Facial oils for natural glow We hear "facial oils" and our brain is already vigorously protesting while imagining how much oilier it can make our skin, and god forbid, lead to disastrous breakouts! But we couldn't be more wrong! These facial oils have turned into quite the cult in the world of beauty because of their awesome power of giving your skin some muchneeded moisture, and leaving it smooth and radiant without clogging pores. Here are a few reasons why you need to use a facial oil which will convert you. Say goodbye to those highlighters! Your skin will light up on its own! Get your hand on these slick substances and watch your complexion transform into a dream.
1. Your skin's oil-production will be better regulated Our skin's sebaceous glands produce natural oils that are meant to protect our skin. When they are produced in excess, breakouts occur. Overcleansing your face and stripping away its natural oils can be a reason why your glands go into overdrive and produce excess oil. Using a facial oil helps balance your skin's sebum production with healthy fatty acids and plant oils, which your skin can't produce on its own. It basically helps keep oil production in check and lowers the chances of breakouts. So if you have oily skin, it can actually help lower the amount of oil produced. 2. They make great
cleansers Facial oils are amazing for thoroughly getting rid of dirt and impurities. It sticks to grime and makeup on your face, which helps wash it all off easily. No need to scrub your skin raw to get rid of stubborn makeup! Plus, they give your skin the delicate cleanse it needs and leave it brighter. 3. Moisturize + Radiance Other than cleansing, beauty oils have super powers when it comes to deeply moisturizing your skin. They contain fatty acids and antioxidants to replenish dry skin and keep it supple and glowing. Simply massage 2 drops into your face and neck for that coveted radiance. It could be the
answer to all your beauty prayers! 4. Perfect for all skin types, even sensitive skin Like we already told you, beauty oils work amazingly for oily skin. They quench dry skin with nourishment and soothe sensitive, irritated skin Thanks to the fatty acids in them. They have antiinflammatory properties which helps provide a layer of hydration without irritating your skin. 5. They can shrink enlarged pores Hate the appearance of large pores on your face? Oils like macadamia and jojoba can shrink the fat in pores and help shrink them. We told you - They really will give you the skin you've always wanted!
6. Overall skin health to look young forever These oils are anti-inflammatory (with calming ingredients like argan), and anti-ageing (as they replenish and moisturize the skin). Even as your natural oil production decreases as you get older, they help revive skin through their richness in antioxidants, thanks to natural plant ingredients and extracts. They are also non-comedogenic, which means that they will not clog your pores. Facial oils are a blessing that should be used all year round (not just in winter) to moisturize your skin, replenish, and repair damage caused by the sun, pollution, and free radicals in your daily life. Use them long-term to keep your skin plump and

long time. 2. If you find them a bit heavy or greasy, use them at night while you sleep. 3. Don't over-oil. 23 drops is enough to massage all over your face, as they are so concentrated.
If you have super dry skin, then a drop or two more, is more than enough. 4. Do not use a body oil on your face. They could be fragranced, which can irritate your skin and can clog pores.
7 Mistakes we all make Take care of oily skin this summer! while washing our face Washing your face seems like the easiest step in your skincare routine. As long as you do it twice a day, what can really go wrong? Well, quite a few things actually. If your skin isn't as perfect as you would like and seems bit oily/dry/dull, your cleansing habits could be to blame. Here are some common facewashing mistakes you didn't even know you were making. A few simple tweaks can help those skin woes goodbye. Mistake #1 - Not washing your hands first You may not find it necessary to wash your hands first, after all the cleanser can do that while you apply it with your fingers. Well, that's smart but wrong. Just think of everything your hands touch through the day - all the dirt, oil, grime, would you really want that on your face? Be safe and wash your hands with soap before you start cleansing your face. Mistake #2 - Applying it all wrong! No, slapping a bit onto your face and then rinsing it off isn't the right way to do it. A cleansing lotion should go on dry skin. Rub it in for a few seconds. You can wet your fingertips to help emulsify
it before washing it off. On the other hand, foam and gel-based cleanser should be applied onto wet skin. Cleansers for acne-prone skin need to sit on the skin for a minute to help the ingredients fight acne-causing bacteria, before washing off. Mistake #3 - Using the wrong cleanser for your skin
cleanser (which won't be harsh on the skin) that works with all skin types. A foaming cleanser should be slightly frothy - if it gets super-lathered and foamy, that means it's very harsh for your skin. Mistake #4 - Not taking your makeup off first You may not make re-
Washing your hands first is important before cleaning the face (Photo: dailymail ) What type of cleanser you use could make or break your skincare routine. With so many options out there, it's normal to get confused and not pick the perfect one for you. Remember the general rule of thumb is to use a creamy, hydrating cleanser for normal to dry skin, and a gel or foaming one for oily and combination skin. A safe bet is a sulfate-free
moving your makeup a separate step and feel like cleansing should do it all. Well, your makeup comes in the way of your cleanser cleaning and unclogging pores - it's basically a breakout about to happen! It's always wiser to take off your makeup first with a face wipe or any essential oil, even baby oil works well. Follow it up with cleansing your face well.
Mistake # 5 - Too much heat You may prefer to crank up the temperature but too-hot water can burst capillaries, causing redness and aggravating acne. It can also mess with the natural pH balance of the skin and lead to dryness or excess oil production. Be on the safe side and stick to lukewarm, if not cool water, to avoid blotchiness and other issues. Mistake # 6 - The ruba-dub-dub We're all guilty of rubbing our face with a towel after cleansing. This is a big no. Pat dry instead of rubbing to avoid inflammation and redness. In fact, you can avoid using a towel on your face altogether, and use a soft washcloth or even a tissue instead. Mistake # 7 - Not following it up with moisturizer Cleansing and moisturizing go hand in hand. You need to lock in the moisture while your skin is damp. Don't give it a chance to dry completely. When your skin is damp, it seals in the moisture, making it more effective and maximizing the effect of the ingredients. This gives you healthier, softer skin.
When we think summer, we imagine ice creams, cute dresses, diving into the swimming pool and experimenting with our sunglass style. Who wants to worry about sweat, clogged pores and zits? But girls born with oily skin have to pay attention to all this and more. Scientists say that oily skin ages more slowly but it's also more prone to brown spots, open pores and pimples, which is why we've put together this handy little regimen so that you have great skin - all summer!

Easy ways to split up with your split ends
Regular snips is the best way to keep your locks devoid of split ends (Photo: nature2tech )
Split ends are your hair's biggest enemy and are not to be taken lightly. They cause mane distress thanks to the outer layer of your
strands wearing away, leading to dehydration and weakening on the inside. It's tough to grow your hair long and strong when the
ends are so frayed, but don't lose hope. We give you a few effective ways to prevent split ends from taking over. Try these tips and split up with split ends for good! 1. Work second day hair We know better now than to shampoo our mane daily. Second day hair allows your scalp's natural oils to nourish and repair your hair, leaving it stronger and smoother. Shampooing daily causes even more drying and fraying of your ends. 2. Shower etiquette When you do wash your
hair, remember to shampoo only your scalp. Lather up at the top only and rinse off before conditioning just your ends and leave it on for a few minutes. It's smart to use a wide-tooth comb in the shower while you have conditioner on to detangle and prevent snapping when your brush out towel dried hair. 3. Try a leave-in conditioner Once you rinse out your conditioner in the shower, your locks have little protection against split ends. Try a leave-in conditioner on your strands for extra
protection as you go about your day as well as during heat styling. Just apply a dime size amount through your mid-lengths and ends on damp hair using your fingers. 4. Are you blow-drying right? Obviously naturally air-drying your hair is always the better option, but if you must blow-dry then make sure to always use the nozzle of your hair dryer and dry in a downward direction. This lowers the amount of intense heat applied directly on your hair.
Do your best to avoid direct heat on your ends as much as possible, though. 5. Get regular snips The best way to keep your locks devoid of any pesky split ends is by regular trims. That's the biggest reason why trims are super important for growing out your hair well. Cutting them off is the only way to get rid of split ends as well as the best way to prevent them. Get a trim every 3 months to keep your hair at it's healthiest, and even more often if you have dry, damaged locks. 6. Tie it up right!
None of us really give this much thought, but the type of hair tie you use makes a huge difference. Switch up your regular hair ties for gentler ones. Standard elastics are rough on the strands and cause breakage. Tight rubber bands that are rough on the edges easily cause breakage and split ends. Whether you pull your hair back often or just while working out, try softer rubber bands and ties to save your precious strands from evil split ends. 7. A damage-free hair diet However much we love
colouring, straightening, perming and all those other chemical treatments, we have to accept the harsh fact that they will cause trauma and split ends. Try and limit these treatments as much as possible. Do not chemically straighten and colour your hair as well. Pick one and try doing it as infrequently as possible - maybe once a year or something. When you do chemically treat your mane, remember not to shampoo your hair for a few days after as it is the most porous then and more likely to split or break.

Duliajan Football Academy won by 8-0 Australia Knock Pakistan Out of World T20 Host 1st Greater Dibrugarh -Tinsukia Districts Inter-
Mohali, Mar 25: Even though thousands packed the stands at Mohali and a majority of them rooted for Pakistan, Australia’s intent, focus and efficiency in execution proved too strong. Needing a win to remain in the hunt for a semifinal berth, Pakistan fell short by 21 runs. The verdict eliminates Pakistan, keeps Australia alive and makes Sunday’s match against India a shootout for the second qualifying spot from Group 2. Led by captain Steve Smith’s second T20I halfcentury, the Australian effort was aided also by contributions from other quarters. If Glenn Maxwell and Shane Watson shared crucial partnerships with the captain, the bowlers
Du Plessis reveals ‘smart’ mantra to beat Windies in Nagpur Johannesburg, Mar.25 (ANI): South African skipper Faf du Plessis has insisted that side have to be 'smart' in their approach and game plans in the crucial Group 1 encounter of the World Twenty20 against West Indies in Nagpur on Friday. Speaking to the media on the eve of the match, Du Plessis said that the conditions in Nagpur would be quite different to that of the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and, therefore, the team would require a different mindset to make the transition and prepare themselves to beat the Caribbean. He said that one of the positives about the Proteas was that as a batting unit they adapt quickly and are smart in their decision-making, reports Sport24. The captain said that the team has players who can play quite a few different roles and that would be the key against West Indies, who are unbeaten in the tournament. He also called on his players to make transitions a lot quicker that their opponents if the pitch in Nagpur turns out to be a 'slow bunsen burner'. The 31-year-old says that it is important to 'peak' at the right time due to the fastpaced nature of the ongoing tournament. South Africa, which suffered a two-wicket defeat against England in their campaign opener, gained two points after thrashing Afghanistan by 37 runs in the second group-match. Faf du Plessis' side are standing second in Group A, with West Indies leading the table after claiming victories in the both the matches.
chipped in with less spectacular yet vital breakthroughs. Adam Zampa took two, with others keeping things under the run rate Pakistan needed. On possibly his last international appearance, Shahid Afridi failed to inspire his team to anything remarkable. The skipper went without a wicket in four overs and fell after hitting two sixes. There are indications that he will announce retirement after returning to Pakistan True to reputation, Pakistan flickered but none succeeded in carrying on after getting in, something that Smith did. Opener Sharjeel Ahmed and Umar Akmal upped the tempo, only to depart after injecting life into activities in the stands.

Khalid Latif occupied one end, but fell when the asking rate started becoming astronomical. Consistency was the difference between teams in bowling also, as Australians
bowled fewer loose deliveries. The Pakistani bowlers produced the occasional cracker of a delivery, but followed them up with wide ones outside leg and off. Taken together, these small factors made a big difference in the end analysis.

Melbourne, Mar.25 (ANI): Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer, who is making a return to the tennis court at the Miami Open, has blamed a bathroom mishap for his knee surgery which ultimately forced him to undergo surgery for the first time in his career. Washington D.C., Mar. 25 (ANI): A recent research has derived that individual perspective and behavioral peculiarities of the footballers besidesphysical training need to be considered to improve their level of play.
Roger Federer The 17-time Grand Slam champion had last week used a string of emojis on his Twitter handle to confirm that he was ready to resume. Speaking about his comeback, he said that it was nice, for a change, to see that the expectations of his fans were really low. He, however, added that he was really pleased to be back as he had not expected to be there after his surgery. Federer was expected to re-
turn to action in next month's Monte Carlo Masters after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus sustained the day after his semi-final defeat to Novak Djokovic at this year's Australian Open. However, his recovery from the surgery has been quicker than anticipated. Due to the injury, Federer was forced to opt out of tournaments in Dubai, Rotterdam and Indian Wells.
The research, led by the Lomonosov Moscow State University psychologists, described the results of the observations on how the players' ability to concentrate on the game changes throughout a season. The researches focused on such parameters as attention, short-term memory and reaction time. Basing on data, the psychologists, doctors and trainers would be able to structure the training process with maximum efficiency. The researchers of many countries gathered in the French town of Valenciennes this month to share the experience of scientific observations in a football sphere. Participation in such events is particularly important for Russia as the country's national team will soon have a chance

to compete for the title of European football champions and to play on their home field at the 2018 European championship. Two football teams were invited to participate in the experiments, one consisting of professional players and the other of semi-professionals. Focusing particularly on the peculiarities of attention, memory and reaction, the scientists also never missed collecting data on the players' physical condition. Psychologists tracked the
changes in footballers' conditions while testing their aerobic and anaerobic capacities. Researchers assumed that physical form of the players and their readiness to distribute attention, reaction and coordination may correlate. To test the attention distribution abilities, scientists suggested the 'red-and-black charts' challenge. The idea is on a sheet of paper the red numbers from 1 to 15 and black numbers from 1 to 24 are randomly spread. Psychologists measured the time a player spent on finding first
all black numbers in ascending order and then all red numbers in descending order. Having already reached significant results, the MSU psychologists are not going to stop their survey. Scientists are going to conduct tests on various periods of the game season and also describe basic characteristics of the players, considering their age and game role. This study has been published in Proceedings of the International Congress of Sciences and Football.
Bangladesh seek redemption against unstoppable New Zealand Kolkata, Mar 25 (PTI): Shaken after losing to India in a cliffhanger, a demoralised Bangladesh will look to end their campaign on a high when they face a rampaging New Zealand in a ICC World Twenty20 dead rubber at Eden Gardens here tomorrow. Their epic one-run loss from the jaws of victory against India on Wednesday ended the semifinal hopes of the spirited Bangladesh team as theyre winless from three matches. The Black Caps, who have already sealed a final-four berth, on the other hand, would look to top Group 2 with an allwin record as they have emerged from being a lesser team to the team to beat in the sixth edition of the World T20. With their contrasting campaigns, Mashrafe Mortazas men will seek a consolation win and restore some pride but it remains to be seen whether the Black Caps take their foot off the gas ahead of the knockouts.
This will be Bangladeshs second outing of the World Twenty20 at the Eden and the familiar conditions in front of an expected crowd support closer to home would certainly boost the teams morale after their heart-aching loss to India. Opening their Super 10 campaign here, Bangladesh were handed out a 55-run loss by Pakistan but they raised their standards to scare the mighty Australia and India. Certainly Bangladesh are punching over their weight with their creditable performances against India and Australia and have won the hearts, its time that they display some maturity and calm demeanour to win a match. Two runs needed from last three balls, its Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullahs over enthusiasm to go for glory shots that cost Bangladesh the match against India. Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Sabbir Rahaman have shown flashes of their brilliance and despite the suspension of their two in-form bowlers
Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny, Bangladesh have been resilient. Bangladesh will have to focus and put the disappointment behind so as to secure their first win against New Zealand who have a 3-0 win-loss record in T20Is. From out-spinning India with a dose of their own medicine, to outmanoeuvring their trans-Tasman rivals Australia, New Zealand were the first to seize their place in semis with a clinical win over Pakistan en route to securing a third victory on the trot. In the turning wicket of Nagpur, New Zealand have shown their potent spin attack in Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi and the experienced Nathan McCullum to fox India in the tournamentopener. Their batting depth was also underlined in the previous match when Martin Guptill blasted 80 from 48 balls to lay the foundation for their 180/5 against Pakistan in Mohali.
