Days after chief minister of Assan Sarbananda Sonowal travelled all the way to Dibrugarh in Rajdhani express to reduce the burden of unnecessary expenditure on the exchequer, BJP minister for labour and employment Pallab Lochan Das - Dibrugarh MP Rameshwar Teli - Tinsukia MLA Sanjay Kishan travelled in Rajdhani express on Saturday night in order to attend functions at Tinsukia and Dibrugarh. Normally, Indian politicians are known to live a luxurious life on tax - payers money. There has been more than often instances of misuse of exchequer for sheer comfort of their own and family members while the tax - payers on whose money such politicians are enjoying a luxurious life are struggling for their basic needs.
At such a scenario, this step of BJP government in Assam on the foot-steps of Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party at Delhi has been welcomed from all walks walks of life. Intellectuals say that before election politicians showcase as they are just like any other common man by travelling in small cars, trains and being available among masses. But once they win the election the picture is reversed. Many of such politicians get a 10-20-30lakh car for them as they find smaller car no longer comfortable, don't prefer to travel by train, stay at 5 and 7 star hotels as categories below them are not-comfortable for them anymore, all becuase the crores and crores of rupees spend for their luxury is being taken care by tax - payers money. Such intellectuals say that these politicians shall be made to pay from their pocket for their extra-ordinary luxury.

Reckless attitude of Sivasagar Municipal Board Uses NH-37 as dumping ground Utpal Sarma Sivasagar, June 5
At a time when several conscious social organizations and groups were seen undertaking various measures and activities of environmental awareness in coherence with world environment day on Sunday at various places of Sivasagar, an inattentive venture of Sivasagar Municipality Board has made
the people think. It is worth mentioning that the Board has a dumping yard at Dorikapar, just outside Sivasagar town towards the direction of Dibrugarh by the NH-37 which has been used for dumping the garbage of the town since years. The yard is at a distance of 50 meter from the NH-37. But the irresponsible employees of the Board use to dump the garbage just at the High way which has not only been causing threat to the environment, but also serious
hazard to the health of mankind. The thoughtless deeds have been continuously making the people living near the area to suffer. However a different picture has come to light, where a social media group from the historic town was seen proving their social responsibilities on Sunday. A few members of the group not only planted saplings at the cremation ground in Sivasagar town but also
installed fencing around the same with their own interest and investment. Various events were organized throughout Sivasagar town and its adjoining areas keeping in pace with World Environment Day. But the day remained a mere slogan for the Sivasagar Municipality Board which has been busy in rather power clashes these days putting aside the interest of the tax payers of the town.
