The Arunachal Youth Organization (AYO) today declared a 12-hour Capital Complex bandh from 5 am to 5 pm on November 28 next as first phase of its agitation against the state government’s alleged apathy towards its nine-point demands. Addressing reporters, AYO general secretary Kaling Tasing informed that despite repeated submission of representations, the state government is yet to respond to their demands, compelling them to go for a democratic movement. “We had submitted our ninepoint memorandum to the Chief Minister’s Office in July this year, but we have not received any response from the government, which is very unfortunate,” Tasing lamented.

The final day of the four day agricultural harvest festival was graced by Zingnu Namchoom, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning, and government of Arunachal Pradesh as chief guest. He was welcomed at the main gate of Rangsom hum, a ritualistic hut where a ritualistic chanting was offered to please the almighty. He was later escorted to another traditional hut. Changsan to complete the modalities for taking up the recruitment process soon. It may be mentioned that of the 9344 vacancies, 4331 for which process has already been started and 5013 new vacancies. Of the new vacancies 17 posts are earmarked for SubInspector, 1541 for Unarmed Branch of Constables and 3455 are for Armed Branch of Constables in Assam Police. Moreover, of the existing vacancies 346 posts are for
Sub-Inspectors, 2569 for Unarmed Branch of Constables and 1416 for Armed Branch of Constables in Barpeta, Nagaon and Dhubri Districts and this existing recruitment process will be completed by February 2017.
