A warm car may lead to a stolen one, say police cynthia reason safe in the city
CYNTHIA REASON creason@insidetoronto.com Etobicoke residents looking for a fun outdoor activity to engage in this winter need not look further than West Mall Rink – access to the ‘roaring game’ is now available on the outdoor ice, courtesy of the Toronto Curling Association (TCA) and the City of Toronto. “The curling community has been struggling for a while to figure out how to bring new curlers into their clubs. Sgt. Madelaine Tretter said. “Most vehicles warm up pretty quickly these days, so my advice to people is just to dress warm, stay with your vehicle and protect your property,” she said, noting the preventable nature of such thefts. While Tretter said no specific make or model of car has seemed to be targeted by thieves in these latest reported >>>grin, page 9
