WREATHS AND CADETS: A memorial service was held honouring the 71st anniversary of D-Day at Sanctuary Park Cemetery at Royal York and Dixon roads on Sunday. Royal Canadian Air Force cadets from 618th took part in the service.
Etobicoke’s brand new, worldclass BMX track, built for this summer’s Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, will get a big trial run this weekend, hosting this season’s first two Canada Cup events with $13,000 in prize money. Organized by the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games BMX Sport Organizing Committee
(SOC) along with Cycling Canada, the event is serving as an unofficial test event for the 2015 Pan Am Games, giving athletes unprecedented access to the brand new facility just weeks before the best riders from the Americas are welcomed. Canada Cup events take place on Saturday and Sunday.
