The ongoing search for a grocery tenant remained a hot topic at a recent city-hosted community consultation on the proposed redevelopment of Stonegate Plaza. Hosted at St. Mark’s Catholic School, the meeting drew more than 100 local residents – many of whom expressed concern at the fact that Vandyk Group of Companies’ has thus far been unable to secure a major grocer to take up tenancy in the developer’s proposed commercial building. “Our goal right now is to focus on the grocery side,” said Domenic Zita, president of Vandyk Commercial, at the meeting last Wednesday evening. “I manage the retail side of our business and I’ve met with seven different grocers.
