Furniture Bank seeks donations to help furnish refugees’ homes TAMARA SHEPHARD tshephard@insidetoronto.com Furniture Bank is asking the public to support its holiday campaign as the primary agency providing furniture to Syrian refugees who will soon resettle in the Greater Toronto Area. Furniture Bank picks up gently used furniture from homes and Charity issues businesses request for and gives them freedonations after of-charge it sees 60 per to people cent spike in who the number of recently refugees it serves escaped homelessness or abusive situations, newcomers families and refugees. Its motto – “Your used furniture will change a life.” Recently, Furniture Bank gained a referral agency in Lifeline Syria, a Toronto-based organization that recruits, trains and assists sponsor groups to support Syrian refugees through the process to become permanent immigrants.
