MANILA -- Officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) informed senators on Thursday that a number of videos showing violence or other criminalities, which have alarmed many Filipino netizens, did not happen within Philippine territory.
As to the "Skyway" video, Estomo denied that it was a kidnapping but rather a robbery/holdup incident that was already considered to have been solved.Estomo said the victim was a Malaysian national who have already pinpointed one of the three suspects.

After a series of directives to telcos to warn the public against text scams, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), this time, ordered mobile phone makers and sellers to educate users how to use text blocking features in their devices.
"Yan ang (That's the) commander. Tanggapin mo lahat ng (accept all your) failure and success ng (of your) unit mo and I appreciate you for that," the lawmaker responded.
Poa said the DepEd would also release data on the number of students and teachers who have contracted COVID-19 since the start of School Year 2022-2023, which saw many schools resume in-person classes at full capacity.
Thefolders. telecommunications regulator also directed the immediate implementation of the measure within 15 days from the issuance of the memorandum order.
In a chance interview with reporters, Special Advisor to the NTC Commissioner Edgardo Cabarios said that blocking links will reduce the chances of mobile subscribers getting scammed.
He said Metro Manila already has many CCTV cameras.

NTC orders mobile phone makers, sellers to teach users how to use text blocking feature
Senator Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, called on the public not to be alarmed by all the violent videos they see on social media.
The NTC also informed the manufacturers, distributors, and dealers that the above shall form part of the “mandatory requirements for type approval/acceptance and related permits for customer premises equipment, particularly mobile phone products filed before the Commission.”

My wife Gigi always causes eyebrows to rise whenever she gives her date of birth.
Now,it!I realize that many of you –my dear folks – may still carry around the wounds, betrayals, resentments, perhaps even scars from being bullied during your high school years. The odds are few had a perfectly wonderful high school experience.
What’s important is the blessing (nay, BLESSINGS). To be blessed with a pretty college sweetheart and then be blessed some more with a wife willing to put up with a husband who was on the job virtually 24/7 as an advertising man, newsmancolumnist, screenplay writer, TV producer-director, and breadwinner of parents and siblings, and then be blessed even more with a life partner who was also a

“I raise my clenched fist to the extraordinary human. ‘Paalam at Salamat, Nelia Sancho.’ I am grieving yet I see purpose in you and it’s alive,” she commented.

She is now remembered in Philippine history as the country’s Joan of Arc and first female figurehead for Filipino liberation.)
Gabriela Women’s Party, in a statement, expressed condolences to the family of Sancho. “Despite winning the title of Queen of the Pacific in 1971, Nelia Sancho left the comforts of privileged life and became an activist at the onset of the First Quarter Storm and eventually joined the underground movement during Martial Law and became a political prisoner,” it said.
“Eternal rest grants unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace? Amen.”
And yet, I ask you, are you missing out by skipping your class reunions? Have you been fabricating excuses about avoiding these get-togethers with self-talk including, “Why would I ever want to be back with those people ever
I must admit I missed this particular school reunion last month. I realized that I was oblivious on what went on around me the last few months. Yes, I missed it; and the irony about it was that it was held right here on my very own backyard…so near yet so far away, so to speak. So I missed it! “Miss” is a multipurpose word covering all the nuances of a situation. One explanation is to fail to attend. Yes, I failed in this regard. Another definition is to leave out or omit. Yes, I dropped this event from my schedule. But here’s the rationale most relevant to my frame of mind: to feel the absence of –in my case, nonattendance as deficit of experience – as in, well, as in missing out – on what exactly, you might ask.
In 1969, while still a student at the University of the Philippines, Sancho joined “Binibining Pilipinas” (Miss Philippines) and finished first runner-up to Gloria Diaz, who would eventually become the country’s first Miss Universe titleholder.

In addition, sharing the memorable highs and lows with those that knew you then can become a catalyst to understanding why you made the choices you did then. The candor gives you the opportunity to forgive yourself and hopefully others too. You deserve to open yourself up to have some fun. Here’s a quote from one of my special long-time friends regarding the last reunion we both attended: “If only for a few short hours they make you feel young again, remembering all the music and dance steps. You and I did the twist just like we were in high school once more. I loved it!! Never mind that I had an awful back spasm when I sat down. Ha-ha-ha-ha!!! I’d do it all over again. Love, love, love our reunions.”

One reunion attendee later shared a note with lots of pictures on Facebook, too – noting that this particular reunion lines had dissolved between the insiders and the outsiders, the cliques had collapsed and the mingling was genuinely real – and that quite a lot of attendees were asking why I was not around as I have practically been in attendance on all previous gatherings. Vaccine complacency, said Brooks, has become the prevailing factor: people see those who are vaccinated and boosted but still getting symptomatic Covid.
“And to that I say ‘yes, but is she still alive?’ And yes, of course she is. We never promised that the vaccinations would mean you wouldn’t get Covid. We just said that it would reduce the severity of your disease and your chances for requiring hospitalization,” she said.
Park also countered another myth. “We’re still hearing that shots don’t work. People saying, ‘My friend is fully vaccinated and boosted, but she still got Covid.’”
The doctor said he was especially concerned about long Covid: people who are unvaccinated are more likely to have symptoms even six months after an initial infection.

He addressed convenience, noting that booster shots are available at pharmacies without an appointment, and are free, even for those who lack health insurance.

But the doctor noted that the mRNA technology on which the vaccine is based was developed 11 years ago and has been used to treat illnesses prior to Covid.
“We have a vaccine that is a biotechnological miracle. There’s a miracle in front of you that’s averted 16 million deaths and it’s safe,” said Brooks.Smith, who runs a clinic on the Hoopa Valley Reservation in Humboldt County, noted that when the vaccine first became available, she was surprised to see elders lining up to get it.

Brooks addressed vaccine hesitancy with what he called a “three Cs” approach: vaccine confidence, vaccine complacency, and vaccine convenience. His patients have expressed their hesitancy, saying: “It came out too soon, too fast. Don’t trust the government, don’t trust the pharmaceutical agencies, don’t trust public health care.”

each one of us to evaluate whether we are trustworthy as recipients of the greatest gift that man can ever have, namely being believers in Jesus and stewards of this faith as members of the Catholic Church that we all confess to be our mother and the sacrament of salvation that we hope for. You may not answer my questions here and now, but kindly look into yourselves more deeply to answer them in the silence of your hearts. First, do you really believe in Jesus? Second have you tried to develop your faith in Jesus to the best of your ability through study, prayer and charitable work? Third have you shared your faith with others, especially the immediate members of your family, your neighbors and co-workers? Finally, are you practicing your faith as one who could be trusted not only in small matters, but especially in great ones? The liturgical year is about to close this November and it is appropriate to evaluate ourselves, personally, as members of our families and members of our communities whether we have truly been trustworthy in taking care of the greatest gift that God has given to humanity, belief in Jesus his only Son and our Savior who was sent to the world to bring salvation to all men and women who would willingly follow him in faithful discipleship.

is a grace from God, faith is also a virtue that is developed with patience, openness, generosity and humility. Since it is a gift from God through different means availed to us in our life, faith must be acknowledged with gratitude. This acknowledgement happens when a believer continues to devoutly express in faith not only in his personal spiritual activities, but especially when he worships together with the community in the liturgy of the church. Furthermore, since faith is patiently developed in the spirit of humility, it becomes a treasure with a priceless value since it has the imprint of the human cooperation that one invests through prayer, study and good works. Indeed, faith is the greatest treasure that one should always be grateful and be worthy of being trusted by the Master of our lives. Allow me, therefore, as pose some questions which may help
Today is the twenty fifth Sunday in ordinary time. After reflecting on the essential aspects of stewardship as a faithful response to the call of Jesus to discipleship, our readings last Sunday led us to consider the center of the message of the gospel, namely, Jesus came into the world in order to bring pardon and forgiveness to sinful man. Briefly, I mentioned the process and stages one undergoes in being reconciled with the Lord. In sum, the stages are as follows: realization of God’s love and mercy, acceptance of one’s sinfulness and sins, radical decision to go back to the Lord after a sincere contrition, and the act of being reconciled with God himself who is loving and merciful. I mentioned in my homily last Sunday that these steps happened in the sacrament of penance.
Our gospel reading this Sunday leads us back to one very important aspect in stewardship as a faithful response to discipleship. This is the condition of being trustworthy that Jesus mentioned clearly when he said to his disciples in the gospel of St. Luke, “the person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones,… If therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth, who will trust you with true wealth? The greatest wealth that a person can acquire in life is no other than the faith in God itself. Although faith

When Moses led the people out of Egypt he had several crisis moments during those forty years. His greatest crisis was when he came back from the mountain and discovered the people had made a golden calf. It was after this he came to a profound conclusion.

As I went through these 20 indicators of a spiritually healthy person, it occurred to me that the most important factor that makes a person spiritually healthy is his belief in a power greater than himself. For those of us who were raised in the Christian faith, being spiritually healthy means having a close relationship with God and communicating with Him through prayer, and seeking His Will in our life by daily reading of the Holy Bible. I firmly believe that without God in our lives, we are nothing, and with God, everything is possible.

“When you meet someone who is spiritually healthy, you’re immediately drawn to that person. You feel good just being around them. The only way you can achieve spiritual satisfaction is by following your heart’s desires.
be that the Christian brings the presence of God with him to work. However, this is not always the case. A Christian can shut out the presence of God by his behavior. Like the Israelites who experienced great miracles in their lives but began to worship idols, we can move away from God. Sin separates us from God. His presence moves away from us. Moses realized, he too had to have the presence of God with him to lead such a people.
