Below are a few quotes from our National School Program physical educators that were collected in the survey: • “The values my students have learned through the National School Program have that factor of carry over into their lives as productive citizens of society. It has become real and meaningful to them and they are able to understand and tell you what these values really mean and how it has affected them in other areas of their lives.”

Robin Randolph, Union Elementary, Brunswick County Schools, Shallotte, NC

• “While teaching the National School Program lessons, the confidence level of students improves from beginning to end of the lesson. Many have never tried golf and assume it to be too hard. After going through the lessons they see that it is more than possible for them to play.”

Deborah Tyler, Hidden Hollow Elementary, Humble ISD, Kingwood, TX

• “I have found that the student is generally better behaved when he is responsible and accountable for his own behavior. I have also noticed that The First Tee Nine Core Values have helped develop emotional intelligence in some of my students.”

Cal Hyer, Unity Elementary, Troup County School District, La Grange, GA

• “I have noticed many behavior improvements for some students who have anger management issues. I have also heard from other teachers that students are doing better during recess.”

Physical Educator, Charlottesville City Schools, Charlottesville, VA

• “These 9 words [The First Tee Nine Core Values] have become part of our P.E. vocabulary. I have noticed a lot less pouting and more perseverance when a new skill is introduced. Honesty in games is also more prevalent because the children understand that they do not want to lose their integrity.”

Shann Griffin, R.D. Head Elementary, Gwinnett County School District, Lilburn, GA
