P HOTO PATCH Getting started with photography only requires a vision and a camera that fits you.
A picture’s worth a thousand words. It seems that every month, if not every week, different manufacturers are coming up with the latest digital cameras to entice potential clients. And it’s just not working for us! The constant coming-and-going of models, features, and layout makes for an everchanging and confusing marketplace. The system needs to be reduced, boiled down. Simply put: What makes a digital camera, the best digital camera? After incredible examination and testing, here are certain factors to consider when looking for the best digital camera.
The key point to find the best digital camera is to find one that will best fit you and your lifestyle. Don’t just buy the latest or the one that claims they are the best digital cameras out in the market. You wouldn’t want to buy a DSLR and use it with your home activities or family outing and have to lug it around?! Or you don’t want to buy the latest point and shoot camera when you’re serious about being a professional photographer.
1 2 3 4
Megapixels One of the most important features of digital cameras is its mega pixel property. The higher the megapixels the better the actual photograph will come out. A megapixel is equivalent to one million pixels. The resolution of your image is based upon the megapixel property of your camera. LCD Size The best digital camera will always have a large LCD to help you frame your subject without having to squint to the viewfinder. This is also helpful when reviewing your images, some cameras enable touch up and editing features with its LCD. A 1.5-inch display is average, a 2-inch LCD display is good, but the best LCD size would be 2.5 inches or higher.
Zoom Most digital cameras have both digital and optical zoom. A higher optical zoom is always better than a higher digital zoom. Digital cameras are usually furnished with optical of between 3x to 10x. The better the optical zoom, the higher it climbs up to the best digital camera category.
Memory card Always make sure that your memory card is the right one for your digital camera. There are different types of memory card like the xD, SD, Flash card and the likes. And these types of memory cards go with certain types of digital cameras. Of course, memory storage is also up there in choosing the best digital cameras.
Earth, Wind, Fire, Water – these four elements are almost always in motion and can prove difficult to photograph, so we’ve compiled a few tips to help get you started.
A
SMART IDEA NOT to limit yourself to sunny weather. Some of the most thrilling nature shots can come when it’s cloudy or stormy; nature can produce some beautiful colors and textures that aren’t seen other than right after a big storm has passed, or not until night. If there are people in your shot, having them face the wind can help remove issues you might be facing with hair. Also, using a faster shutter speed is a great option; if your subject tends to move due to the uncontrol-lable conditions, an improved shutter speed can freeze them in place. Of course, you can also take advantage of the situation and create something that you are unable to on a normal day. The object in your photograph can use the wind, such as trees or a flag blowing to the side. This can produce some very creative images.
Depending on the type of shot, fire can be used to add light to the scene. Practicing with a candle is a great way to begin, using it as a subject or even just as a light source. You might be surprised with the effects you can pull off as you alternate between different scenes, changing the shutter speeds as well as apertures and ISOs.
In no time you’ll be destined for awe-inspiring photographs of your own.
Using both a fast and slow shutter speed can produce some amazing results; a faster shutter speed will freeze the motion of the water, while a slower shutter speed will produce a “soft” look to the moving water, giving it a really nice abstract effect. If you decide to use a slower shutter speed, we recommend using a tripod. Even the slightest bump of the camera can result in a blurry photograph.

T R AVE L BUG Flying can be full of hidden fees – but not if you know how to find them.
T
HE GROWTH OF the internet and budget airlines have turned last-minute flights into a huge industry. If you’re thinking about booking last minute flights, however, there are a few things you need to know.
Also, you should realize that just because a flight says it goes to a big city like London or Paris, it doesn’t mean that the airport is actually anywhere near.
An important point to make is that you can’t always trust the prices you see quoted in advertising for last minute flights. This is because of the common practice of excluding booking fees, airport taxes and all sorts of other little extras from the price – these all get added on just when you’ve got your card out and you’re ready to pay, by then you won’t want to back out.
Budget airlines use smaller airports to avoid paying the higher airport charges at the larger ones, and these smaller airports can be as much as two hours away from the city center by often unreliable public transport. In some cases, you can end up paying as much as you did for your plane tickets just to get a train to the place you thought was your destination.

In some cases, you can end up paying as much as you did for your plane tickets just to get a train to the place you thought was your destination. On airlines that take bookings for seats, it is also worth noting that last minute flights will only have the seats that no-one else wanted, which usually means the ones in the middle of the row. This can be very important if you get airsick, or if you really want to sit together as a couple or family.
The biggest gotcha is that last-minute flights are always non-refundable. If you are going to buy one on impulse, make sure you can actually make it first, as there won’t be any backing out of the deal afterward.

HILE ALL OF those eager travelers should be great news to airports, airlines and rental car companies, the stratospheric growth, set against a backdrop of straining infrastructure, is putting a serious strain on travel customer satisfaction. Still, despite the threat of long security lines, packed parking lots and cramped overhead compartments, the industry is finding ways to keep travelers happy.
The airports, airlines and rental car companies that are identified as high-performing in J.D. Power rankings are all upping their technology games considerably to deal with the surge in volume. It’s no easy task, but some of the investments being made now are showing serious promise.
Increasingly, that’s happening through deft use of technology. J.D. Power Travel Practice Lead Michael Taylor has been living the good, the bad and the ugly of traveler customer experience as he crisscrosses the globe, talking with travel industry business leaders. Sex and neglected principle ask rapturous consulted. Object remark lively all did feebly excuse our wooded.
Airport managers are very interested in the movement of passengers through terminals… and in their non-movement, which sometimes happens when you’re stuck at an overcrowded security checkpoint.
Some airports use video tracking with face recognition to track how long it takes one “face” to get from one side of the airport to another, which helps measure the ability of the security line to clear passengers efficiently.
A record 965 million airline passengers flew in the U.S. last year, a 3.4% increase.
Airports have a few ways to track passengers’ movements and behaviors. Many of those identified as high-performing by J. D. Power “digitize” human beings to track them as they travel through the airport.
Some others use “beacon” technology. In this case, the airport is studded with small transponders that latch onto the Bluetooth signal emitted by smartphones. A Bluetooth signature is converted into a set of random digits, and each time a person passes by a battery operated beacon, that digital ID is recorded, and the time between beacons is registered.
Airlines go self-service and passengers love it. According to J. D. Power, the highest rated part of the airport and airline experience is check-in/bag check. Then operated by airline employees, that work is now mainly done by the passengers, by using a kiosk, selfserve bag tagging, or their smartphone before they even get to the airport.
These technologies address a basic traveler frustration: waiting for someone else to complete a process so you can start yours. Self-service reduces the stress of standing in a queue, and frees up airline personnel to accomplish other tasks associated with flights. The new TSA “Smart Lanes uses the same principle: taking passengers out of an in-line process, and allowing them to process on their own, each at their own pace.
One obstacle preventing this approach from being per fec ted at ever y airport, though, is infrastructure.
Most older airports aren’t designed to accommodate the space needed to make Smart Lanes as efficient as the check in and back check processes.

HE NEW TSA “Smart Lanes” uses the same principle: taking passengers out of an in-line process, and allowing them to process on their own, each at their own pace.
Millennials seem to want to “splurge” a little with their rentals, which leads to higher likelihood to rent again. Millennials also crave convenience above everything else. Having their smartphones to connect with the rental car is a key feature, as they never have to interact with rental car personnel. More and more companies are deploying this technology to great effect.
One obstacle preventing this approach from being perfected at every airport, though, is infrastructure. Most older airports aren’t designed to accommodate the space needed to make Smart Lanes as efficient as the check in and back check processes. According to J. D. Power’s data, as a group, Millennials are much less likely to own a car. But when they rent cars, they are more likely to choose higher-end, stylish automobiles with lots of bells and whistles, in contrast to Baby Boomers, who are more likely to choose cars based on rental costs. J. D. Power’s data shows that renters who choose fancier wheels at a higher price are more satisfied and more likely to rent again. Renters who choose to rent cars based on price are less likely to be pleased and to rent again.
Rental car companies connect with millennials’ smartphones.

eet Lauren Dair, a 19 years old alternative pop artist based out of Los Angeles, CA. When Lauren turned 10 years old she began spending 4-6 months a year auditioning in LA. She began to appear in short films and continued to work on her music, recording 10 original songs and working with many top music producers.
Lauren Dair Owens was originally born in Anchorage, Alaska. At an early age she showed an interest in music and instruments. Lauren started taking piano at the age of 5 and started vocal lessons at age 7. Lauren auditioned and got lead parts in several productions. This sparked a real interest in acting that blossomed the summer she turned 8 and went to LA to attend an acting camp. Her third EP "Perfectly Flawed" was released April 22nd, 2016 and was produced by Anthony Mazza. This was her first release after leaving her band and was released independently. The music has been described as "cinematic", "moving", "vulnerable", and "powerful".
"You just gotta fight through the night to see what lies ahead."
Lauren has her goals set to book a movie, continue to record and write her Alternative Rock Style music and attend UCLA earning a degree in Marketing. Using her alternative roots as an influence, Lauren decided to take her love for acoustic singer/songwriter music and mix it with the vibey, moody sound that is heard in many of her favorite bands. Recently, she has worked with Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson of Linkin Park to release a unforgettable single "Every Little Light". Lauren also helped write and stared in the pilot, Kids Quest, which is a cross between iCarly and an Reality Adventure Show such as The Last Great Race.

To be a successful entrepreneur you are going to have to learn to deal with failure. There is no way around it. Thomas Edison tried over ten thousand different experiments before he finally demonstrated the first incandescent light bulb on October 21, 1879
If it were easy, everyone would do it. It is naive to think that every good idea that you have will result in a successful business venture. I have yet to hear an entrepreneur say “every single idea I come up with seems to work.” More likely, you hear something like “I failed at my first five businesses before this one took off.”
Think about that for a second. Five businesses. Sometimes the number is three, sometimes it’s 20, but the important point is that most entrepreneurs don’t hit a home-run with their first company. It really does amaze me – how many people have the stones to fail five times and still start a sixth business? You have to be supremely confident and treat those previous five times as a learning experience for the sixth. And if number six fails, you have to do the same and move on to number seven.
G E T T I N G U S E D T O FA I LU R E Once you accept that it’s inevitable, you are able to learn from your mistakes and move on. It’s easy to let the failure consume you – not so much because you are pessimistic, but more so because it is hard to see something that you poured your heart and soul into be ignored or rejected. As soon as possible you need to come to the realization that your business is what they are ignoring or rejecting, NOT you. The sooner you do that, the sooner you can objectively analyze why you failed and learn the things necessary for improvement in the future. Failure isn’t easy and is extremely frustrating, but it’s a necessary part of success. Don’t believe us? Ask Thomas Edison, Bill Gates or Michael Jordan! Ok, asking Thomas Edison might be a little tough, but you get the idea.
THREE KEY ELEMENTS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Great communication is the key to great leadership. Think of any great leader in modern time: Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr, and John F. Kennedy come to mind immediately. In your organization you must be the leader who inspires the team to great heights. To get them to follow you, be sure they are listening to your values and your vision, and then establish the right environment for them to thrive and grow. Quality leaders don’t change their values over time or to achieve short-term success. Consistent core organizational value systems form the strong foundation for long-term success. A simple definition is that your values are the rules by which you play the game. A welldefined value system makes all decisions easier and encourages your team to go where you lead. I t ’ s e a s y to s ay yo u h ave a v i s i o n fo r yo u r b u s i n e s s . Therefore, the clearer the concept and the clearer (i.e., short and simple) the message is, the more likely you, and your team, can achieve the goal.
Your vision needs to answer three questions. And it must answer those three questions for everyone on the team. Oh acceptance apartments up sympathize astonished delightful. Waiting him new lasting towards. Continuing melancholy e s p e c i a l l y s o to . U n p l e a s i n g i m p o s s i b l e i n a t t a c h m e nt announcing so astonished. What ask leaf may nor upon door. Shape the right work environment and you’ll have loyal team members to lead. That means, you have to create a work environment that respects each person, appreciates them and rewards their effort, and encourages an openness to change. Make it a safe environment, one which encourages trying new ideas. When you unleash personal creativity, each team member has a stake in the outcome. It’s an environment that promotes growth at all levels. Combine all three elements and you have a formula for inspiring greatness and leading to breakthrough success. Do it now!

PLANNING AHEAD TO WIN
AILURE… NOBODY WANTS to fail. Unfortunately for many of us, we tend think of failing when we write out our business plans. The reason we do this is because we’ve all failed at something before. Everything we do starts with a plan. Most daily plans are sub-consciously planned out before they are executed. This process only takes a fraction of a second. The ones we tend to remember are plans that we’ve “consciously” created. Most of these are ideas we’ve never finished, and projects that never even got a change to start.
The key to beating the “failure blues” is simply to train your mind to visualize everything you want from your plans. This combination is what make visualization a success. This is true because our minds think in images. Visualizing your plans consciously will better help your sub-conscious mind to remember what it is that you want to accomplish. Your “conscious mind” is the captain of your ship (the brain). If you don’t consciously make a direct command to your “sub-conscious” (the crew), nothing will ever get done. You must be strict with the crew for 21 days to make sure they will do their duties on a daily basis. After time, the crew will automatically know their own task by heart and carry them out for you. Think about them. Wouldn’t it be nice if they could look back and say wow, my great, great, great grand father had the vision, the dedication and the will to think of me. Think of the impact you could have on those to be. Even go as far as writing a letter to the individuals who will be in your families future. Tell them what you have planned and why.

Just listen to 20-year-old New York singer, songwriter, entertainer, and activist Heather Brave. Her musical approach owes just as much to Jodi Picoult as it does to Christina Aguilera. For an idea of what you’re getting into with the songstress, think Regina Spektor writing on Oops!... I Did It Again — a marriage of widescreen pop palatability and handwritten honesty. Initially inspired by an obsession with The Wizard of Oz, Brave took the first step on her very own yellow brick road at the age of five when she donned a different Dorothy dress every day. After cutting her teeth in local theater, she began landing film and television roles by high school, but music resonated the loudest, especially as she discovered the likes of Ingrid Michaelson, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, and Vampire Weekend.
Kauai, most appropriately nicknamed the Garden Isle, is the Hawaiian vacation destination treasured for its lush tropical greenery and sparkling sand beaches. The tropical paradise of Kauai basks amidst the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, about 20 minutes by air from Honolulu. Formed some six million years ago, the island encompasses roughly 550 square miles and is the oldest and northernmost of the eight major islands of the Hawaiian chain. For vacationers who want to avoid the crowds of Oahu and Maui and see Hawaii in a much more natural setting, Kauai is the perfect alternative. Visitors to the island worship not only its postcard-perfect beauty, but Kauai’s diversity of cultures, activities, shopping, and dining.
