I have finally had a bite of heaven. That’s exactly
what these French Macarons taste like! Over the
years the french have perfected the popular treat and have graced us with this very delicate tasty
dessert. Macarons are made with ground almonds
and soft merengue, giving it a cake like texture with

a flaky shell that melts as you take a bite.

ART Michael Nuriel:
Second Hand Choppers !! Q: What fueled your passion to create choppers?
!
I have always loved motorcycles in general. Every chopper
starts with the frame and that's how each one of my pieces
begins. Once the frame is designed the custom touches can be applied, making the bike your own. My passion comes
from wanting to create bikes that anyone can envision riding combined with a vision to give vintage watch pieces a
!
second life.
Q: What does it take to build one of your masterpieces?
!
It all starts with the vision. i have learned to remember each shape of all the pieces and movements I have. I often get suggestions to build this or that. If i can't see the pieces
fitting together in my mind I won't try to make i.t i don't like
! !
to make something that you can't recognize.
Q: How long is the process? Do you conceptualize beforehand? The time to complete a
build depends on the bike I am making. A chopper usually starts with a vision of the frame and gas tank. once thats
made then i start on the engine and so on. its hard for me to
!
try to draw the chopper prior to building. it never looks rite.
Q: Why do this as your form of artistry? What do you get out of it?
!

My favorite question. I started this type of art to save the
beauty of Watch movements. The parts I use are from the

are in vintage movements. No one would ever get this type

unreal.I love to take a movement that has been sitting in a draw rusting away and bring it back to life. it may not be
used to keep time, however, it has a second chance to be
seen. It may be used to build a spider, a scorpion, a chopper
or anything I visualize. Most people don't realize that I use all

each creation is unbelievable.
Q: What else can we expect to see?
I hope to start making much larger pieces. I have several
things in the works right now. One things for sure, there will all have a second chance. Show message history

PURPLE! ! By Rosemarie Isabel
Who is Purple, Rock, Scissors? They are known as “Purple” and are a digital creative agency, headquarters of originators, designers, and artists in the Orlando area. Apart from conventional businesses, Purple has a profound way of creating innovative digital media whether it is through full-service online marketing, mobile application development, copywriting, or web designing. They are here to magnify on infusing clients to a fun and ingenious way of digital media solutions.
! !
Q: “Purple Rock Scissor” how did this name come about? Previously we were named Hydra Studio in 2008, we ran into some legal issues and started to get national level press but came to realize there was a company called Hydra Marketing, and therefore we used that as an excuse to reinvigorate the company and have a fresh start. Our company had begun to grow and it made sense to keep elevating the brand and take a shot into creating a whole new brand that we think capsulize who we are. We started brainstorming and defining who we are, what our culture was like and we all knew we were a whole bunch of created minded people with that, our company is about being fun and creative – bringing back those childhood memories of the game “paper, rock, scissor.” Everyone loves his or her childhood because that is your most imaginative point in life. Bringing in those elements, we shot around names and that is the name that stood out to us because it felt as if it had energy and attitude, we come from a very punk rock background as far as bands and music, so it ended fitting us very well. Now we go by “Purple” because people are always looking for a way to simplify things, and we are very okay with that. We even call ourselves that, to be honest.
!! !
Q: How did you start this entire company, how did it elevate just coming from you? In 2002, I was a creative director for a national publication and the goal was to take them online and make them a digital company because it was an emerging market at the time. I then took the reins of that project and fell in love with the Internet; I could not get enough of it. I started to then realize I wanted to move away from print, which was really the main form of communication in marketing and advertising. This changed my direction in paths and I felt that this was my next step in my career, that I fell in love with and it came naturally for me to understand it. It was my time to move on and when I left that company, I never had it set out in my mind to build a company this size. I knew I wanted to build a company and there was a better way to do it, compared to traditional companies in the past, I
knew there was a better way to treat people and the whole concept of work life balance is a myth. We were headed with the economy, technology, the pace of things changing; I knew a work life balance is about integration. Work is going to be such an important aspect in your life the company needs to feel like family and support you like family. People need to be treated the upmost respect, to me that is the number one element. The way we look at it, family is always first and work is second, so family is a priority to them, but give people that freedom, they then make work a number one priority because they care about the company and realize how they are treated here. They want to invest into a company like that, hence that was when I was set out to build an amazing company, where people can create, people can be innovative and people can work in a space that they feel absolutely comfortable. They did not feel pigeon held into clocking in, and we do not track time; we are results driven, and owning that position and doing your job and handling the work you have been given. We do not care how you do it or when you do, but along as the job gets done.
! !
Q: With such a unique way of running your company, how do you hire? We never hire for need, we hire because the person is right for the company. We are always hiring, if the right person comes in and the moment we interview them and we if believe we can build a position around them and if they believe in what they are doing and what they can bring to the company exist then we want to give them that platform into doing that. So we never want to be in a position we are hiring because we are behind the 8 ball because then you are not hiring, the right people that fit your culture, you are hiring at an reactive state, so we like to always avoid hiring at an reactive state and be ahead of the 8 ball. Q: How did you and your company end up in Orlando?
!
I am a Florida native; I grew up in Lake Mary. The business has grown organically over a decade. Just like a tree that gets deeply rooted, our company is deeply rooted within this community and we believe very much in it. We believe in the creative market and the technology scene and there is a great deal of scrappy companies here that really want to change things and do really good work. We believe it is starting to manifest itself here in Orlando, and we are super excited to be here and set the standards.

been selected to work for the project DTO – which is The Downtown Task Force created by Mayor Buddy Dyer, and it is basically to determine what Orlando is going to look like in the next decade. That’s everything from understand our urban development to streetscaping and what businesses are going to be best suited for downtown, and what is going to create a thriving economical culture for the city. So I love working with others and love giving back to Orlando since we are deprived from this city.

Q: Do you collaborate with other businesses just like yours? Sure, with much smaller agencies we tend to work with them at the capacity such as if a project doesn’t suit us we will recommend it to a smaller firm. When we have an overflow of work; we have plenty of trusted relationship in the community that can do the work to the standards that we uphold ourselves. We even give up our workspace for companies to host events, and other gatherings. On another note, I am heavily invested within the city and have
