Dear Theatregoer, I’m delighted to be unveiling another entertainment-filled season here at the Gordon Craig Theatre. It's been a record-breaking year already and this season is no exception! A summer of dance graces the stage with the finesse of Ballet Cymru and a host of local dance schools, to the celtic extravagance of Rhythm Of The Dance. Following a sell-out run over the Easter period, Rapunzel returns to the GCT in July before embarking on a tour. If you didn’t get the chance to let your hair down at Easter then July is your chance. Other shows for children include We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Gruffalo and a favourite of the ‘Craig calendar our annual pantomime, which this year is Jack and the Beanstalk featuring Call the Midwife and East Enders star Cliff Parisi. Comedy remains a popular addition to the programme and with names like Lee Nelson, Jason Manford, Bill Bailey, Jimmy Carr, Ed Byrne and Paul Chowdhry to name but a few it is easy to see why. Musically we welcome new names to the Gordon Craig including The South, Jack Pack, Jai McDowall and the Supersonic 70’s. There's also a plethora of familiar names and faces from Heather Small to That’ll Be The Day (New Year’s Eve tickets on sale from June), Let’s Hang On to Sixties Gold and Tosca to Motown, there is something for all! Our Summer Musical (slightly later than normal this year) is the Mel Brooks hit The Producers, which won a record breaking 12 Tony Awards on Broadway. The Producers promises to be a hilarious nigh-out telling the story of Broadway’s greatest scam… which soon backfires. Drama continues to play a key role in the season with plays’ It Runs in the Family’ and Godber’s ‘Up ‘n’ Under’ taking centre stage. We’re delighted too to launch our new membership scheme, Applause (you’ll find details on the opposite page) which promises a host of benefits for all. Look out for the Applause symbol as you flick through this brochure to see which shows offer a saving. Finally there is a chance for all of you to meet the GCT team. On Friday 16th June we’ll be holding two informal drop in sessions from 11am-12.30pm and 4.30pm-7pm, come along for a coffee and chat to ask questions, give some feedback or simply to find out more about the Theatre. Thank you all for your support and love! Happy theatregoing Kind regards,

Paul Ruff Arts Programming, Sales & Marketing Manager

T REXTASY Thursday 15th June at 8pm | £23.00 Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. It’s hard to believe that 40 years have now passed since Marc’s tragic fatal car accident and fans have mourned the loss of a truly individual, inspirational talent ever since. Bolan's special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs including '20th Century Boy’, ‘Get in On’ and 'I Love to Boogie' have insured that Marc Bolan and T.Rex have become one of the most memorable and enduring bands of the seventies This year T.rextasy are celebrating Marc’s life and works with a very special commemorative tour. Truly a rock’n’roll concert for all ages - If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!

Thursday 29th June at 8pm | £28.50

The daughter of a gangster, and raised on a Liverpool council housing estate, Donna Fallon has had a colourful life. She is currently writing a book about that and many of the interesting readings that she has done.

"Once you've had a baby you're a parent and immediately you go from being a madman (cool) to a mad dad (not cool). How can you be a dangerous, edgy, rebel with a tiny, little daughter?"

Having worked for several years building up a trusted client base that includes many celebrities, Donna helps people connect from this world to the next, joining the two worlds together.

"How do we make sense of the madness of our lives once we become parents? What am I going to tell my daughter about conformity and responsibility? What happens if she grows up to be like me? Or, worse, to date a man like me?"

Donna has the incredible gift of being able to accurately give both names and dates during her shows so that the recipients are left in no doubt that Donna has connected with and they are receiving a message from their loved ones, bringing them comfort, closure, guidance and support. Donna has successfully demonstrated her Psychic Medium abilities to tens of thousands of people.

ED BYRNE: SPOILER ALERT

BILLY FURY

Monday 9th October at 8pm | £25.00

Tuesday 10th October at 7.45pm | £21.00

I originally intended to call the show, “I’ll Millennial You in a Minute”, but my promoter considered the title, “offputtingly baffling”. That’s my own chainsaw in the photo, by the way.

One of the best-selling recording artists of the 1960s, Billy Fury enjoyed a string of hit singles totalling a remarkable 332 weeks in the British charts. Health problems since childhood led to the singer’s untimely death on January 28, 1983.

Is life that bad or have we good reason to complain about it? Are we filled with righteous anger at a world gone wrong or are we all just a bunch of whiny little brats? In short, are we spoiled? Come and watch as Byrne takes this question, turns it upside down and shakes it until the funny falls out. Go on, spoil yourself.

2017 commemorates over 30 years since the untimely passing of Billy Fury, however it is reassuring to know that his name and music is far from forgotten. The Billy Fury Years is quite simply ‘The Ultimate Billy Fury show to ever hit the stage’.

"Comedy’s Holy Grail. Go See!" - Sunday Times “There is nothing quite like seeing Byrne doing what he does best” - DAILY MAIL

Hailed as "the best Fury since Fury”, Michael King and his fantastic collection of musicians take you on a journey through the musical career of Britain's best loved rock n roll legend. An exciting 2 hour show filled with Billy Fury's greatest hits and more delivered live in true Fury style. This is a night of pure breathtaking Billy Fury entertainment plus the best Fury sound you will hear! The whole show is further enhanced by fantastic audio and video effects plus various costume changes depicting the ever changing image and face of the Fury phenomenon.

No, really out there and this time he hasn't just forgotten his keys He's holding up the mirror of truth to society, and he can see right through it, which means its probably just a window. In his brand new show he'll be putting his foot down and lifting the lid on the pedal bin of lies of the media (which doesn't include this press release obviously). He will also be scaling the heights of fashion at the risk of falling into a terrible cravat. Milton will be talking about his life so far - the ups, the downs and why buying his own see-saw was the best decision he ever made. But perhaps he should give all this up and seek the highest office in the land - but how do you get a desk and a swivel chair up a mountain? Oh and now he wants to be Prime Minister too. Can we do worse than the politicians we already have? Yes we can!

Patrons using these car parks for an evening performance are advised to pre-pay for their tokens, if arriving after 6.00pm as a fixed rate then applies. This will help to reduce the volume of traffic queuing at the end of the evening.
