Dear Theatregoer, 2017 is fast shaping up to be a busy year at The Gordon Craig with the Spring season no exception. The highlight of the season is our Easter Musical, Rapunzel which, at the time of writing this note, has very nearly completely sold out. Such is the success of this newly-written family treat that we have taken the unprecedented step of bringing it back in July. So, if you were one of those who could not get a ticket then July is the time to ‘let your hair down’ at this family treat. We’re delighted that our Summer musical will be The Producers. This satirical comedy is one of Broadway’s funniest musicals and something for us all to look forward to. There is the usual mix of Drama (including a musical adaptation of the children’s classic The Railway Children), Comedy from the likes of Rich Hall and Jimeoin, Music (everything from Elvis to Little Mix, Strauss to T-Rextasy) together with Dance (Ballet and Irish) and Children’s shows to boot. There really is something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t forget that tickets are already on sale for our Christmas Panto, which this year is Jack and The Beanstalk (brought to you by the team behind Peter Pan which has proven to be our most popular and successful panto) tickets are already selling fast so book yours today! There are a number of Early bird & Friends offers for you to take advantage of so please read on and book your tickets. The eagle eyed amongst you will notice we have a fresh new website making it even easier to book your tickets online! Happy theatregoing! Kind regards,

THE ELVIS YEARS
T-REXTASY
PETER ALLISS A QUESTION OF GOLF
Saturday 4th March at 7.45pm | £22.00, £20.00
Sunday 5th March at 8pm | £23.00
Tuesday 7th March at 7.30pm | £18.00
Celebrating 10 years on the road this year, The Elvis Years is an outstanding musical production which brings to the stage the incredible and compelling story of the ‘king of rock and roll’ - Elvis Presley.
Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. It’s hard to believe that 40 years have now passed since Marc’s tragic fatal car accident and fans have mourned the loss of a truly individual, inspirational talent ever since.
Peter Alliss is undoubtedly ‘The Voice of Golf’, which is not a surprise when you consider that he has been broadcasting on the game continuously for the BBC since 1961.
With a top line-up of actor-musicians, multiple costume changes and nostalgic film footage, this glittering two-hour production charts the musical and emotional highs and lows of Elvis’ amazing journey from poor truck-driving teenager from Tupelo, Mississippi through the army, Hollywood and finally the legendary Las Vegas concerts. Directed by top record producer David Mackay (Dusty Springfield, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, New Seekers), the lead role is perfectly portrayed by Mario Kombou (from West End production Jailhouse Rock), who is officially endorsed by Elvis Presley Enterprises and Elvis’ first cousin Donna Presley.

@GCTSTEVENAGE
Bolan's special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs including '20th Century Boy’, ‘Get in On’ and 'I Love to Boogie' have insured that Marc Bolan and T.Rex have become one of the most memorable and enduring bands of the seventies This year T.rextasy are celebrating Marc’s life and works with a very special commemorative tour. Truly a rock’n’roll concert for all ages - If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!
His enormous popularity has enabled him to travel around the world commentating on golf and on the way, entertaining millions of people with anecdotes, stories and reminiscences. However, despite his live shows being enormously popular, the opportunity for the audience to ask him questions has only ever been a small part of the evening…. Well, this is all about to change! In his brand new show, which will be touring the UK for a series of selected dates during the Spring of 2017, the evening will, in the main, be based around what everyone has been clamouring for…..the chance to ask Peter questions.

Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30pm | £16.00

Friday 5th May at 7.45pm | £23.50
From the author of ‘Conscience’ and ‘Factor 2025’ comes ‘NAKED TRUTH’ a hard hitting and satirical play.
The Searchers remarkable career continues. With such classic hits as, Sweets For My Sweet; Needles and Pins; Don’t Throw Your Love Away; Sugar and Spice and When You Walk In The Room, they have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry. There is no doubt that the decade that gave us The Beatles as well as The Searchers and many others was very special and will go down in history as being the most imaginative period of music creativity and expression.
Over the last two decades Talon have risen from humble beginnings to one of the most successful theatre touring shows in the UK and the ‘20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR’ will once again feature all those classic ‘Eagles Greatest Hits’ from their timeless back catalogue including ‘Hotel California’, ‘Take It Easy’, ‘One Of These Nights’, Take It To The Limit, ‘Desperado’, ‘Lyin’ Eyes’, ‘Life In The Fast Lane’ and many more. This world class seven piece band are a phenomenon and have truly transcended the tag of ‘tribute’.
With total record sales well in excess of 50 million, The Searchers still have great appeal to audiences of all ages. They tour the globe as much today as they have done throughout a fantastic career spanning 5 decades.
The ability of Talon to evolve and go from strength to strength in delivering bigger and better shows year on year continues once again with what promises to be an EVENT…
Are TV reality shows for entertainment or are they there as a smokescreen to divert our attention away from what is really happening in the world? With the murder of housemates that have enough skeletons in their cupboards to fill any cemetery. Are the people that run the world literally getting away with murder?

JIMMY CARR: THE BEST OF, ULTIMATE, GOLD, GREATEST HITS TOUR Saturday 30th September CONCERT HALL at 7pm & 10pm | £28.50 Jimmy Carr: The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits Tour Jimmy is gathering a selection of his very best jokes along with brand new material for the ultimate comedy show. A man who has devoted his life to crafting perfect jokes and has left a trail of laughter in his wake, Jimmy Carr’s new tour will distil everything we love to laugh at and be shocked by, into one incredible, unparalleled night of entertainment. Jimmy Carr has been on the stand-up scene for a decade and a half. In that time he’s performed 9 sell-out tours, playing nearly 2,000 shows to over 2 million people across 4 continents. He’s won the British Comedy Award for ‘Best Live Stand-Up Tour’ and been nominated for the Perrier Award.
MILTON JONES IS OUT THERE Friday 13th October CONCERT HALL at 7.30pm | £27.00 Milton Jones is Out There. No, really out there and this time he hasn't just forgotten his keys. He's holding up the mirror of truth to society, and he can see right through it, which means its probably just a window. In his brand new show he'll be putting his foot down and lifting the lid on the pedal bin of lies of the media (which doesn't include this press release obviously). He will also be scaling the heights of fashion at the risk of falling into a terrible cravat. Milton will be talking about his life so far - the ups, the downs and why buying his own see-saw was the best decision he ever made. But perhaps he should give all this up and seek the highest office in the land - but how do you get a desk and a swivel chair up a mountain? Oh and now he wants to be Prime Minister too. Can we do worse than the politicians we already have? Yes we can!
