A New Musical This classic fairy tale is brought to life with original music and a host of magical characters. The King and Queen are throwing a party to celebrate the birth of their beautiful daughter Princess Aurora. Everyone is invited - everyone apart from Narcissus, a cruel and wicked Fairy. When Narcissus discovers she hasn’t been invited to the birthday celebrations she gate-crashes and curses the baby Princess! Its left up to the good Fairies, Bluebell, Primrose and Tulip to try and save the day! Narcissus’ dark magic is so powerful that the good Fairies can’t stop it but they can alter it; rather than die by pricking her fingers on a spinning wheel Aurora will fall into a deep sleep and can only be saved by a true love’s kiss. Sixteen years later, as Aurora is getting ready for her birthday party Narcissus arrives disguised as a kind old lady, and tempts Aurora away. Aurora is taken to an unexplored room in the castle where she sees a spinning wheel for the first time and is so intrigued she pricks her finger, falling asleep instantly. Bluebell, Primrose and Tulip cannot bear to tell the King & Queen what has happened and so they use their magic again and send the whole kingdom into a deep sleep. What will become of the sleeping princess? Will she be left to sleep forever? Will a handsome prince save her before the sun sets in a hundred years? Can true love save the day? BOOKING INFORMATION THE BOX OFFICE Our standard opening hours are from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. However on performance days the Box Office will remain open until 15 minutes after the start of the final show. Sunday opening hours vary depending on the time of the performance but are a minimum of two hours before the start of the show until 15 minutes after curtain up. Please be advised that 30 minutes prior to each performance in-person callers at the Box Office will be given priority over telephone callers. METHODS OF PAYMENT Visa, MasterCard and Maestro are accepted. Cheques are to be made payable to Stevenage Leisure Ltd. Cash and Gordon Craig Theatre vouchers are also accepted. Tickets will be held at the Box Office for collection or can be posted out for £1.00 RESERVATIONS Tickets may be reserved for three working days, without payment, subject to availability but must be confirmed with payment or cancelled no later than 24 hours before the performance. Any unpaid tickets not confirmed by this time will be released for sale. BABES IN ARMS Under 18 Months are generally only admitted for children’s shows and at our discretion. A ticket can be obtained from the Box Office on arrival. REFUNDS AND RE SALES We regret that tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is postponed or cancelled when only the face value of the ticket will be refunded. Tickets may be accepted for re-sale once a performance has sold out but there is no guarantee of sale. The face value of re-sold tickets will be refunded to a gift voucher; tickets may be exchanged for a different performance within the run of the same show. All exchanges and re-sales are at the management’s discretion and are subject to a 10% administration fee. CONCESSIONS Where offered, concessions prices related to Under 16’s, full-time students, senior citizens, unwaged and the registered disabled. You may be asked for proof of your discount eligibility. A family ticket constitutes four tickets of which at least one must be an adult and one other must be a child. Only one discount can apply to a ticket. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. PARKING The Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre is situated on Lytton Way, adjacent to Tesco Superstore, within one minute’s walk from the Railway Station or Bus Station and only 5 minutes travelling distance from the A1M junction 7 or 8. There are a number of Stevenage Borough Council car parks located around the vicinity of the Arts & Leisure Centre. Patrons using these car parks for an evening performance are advised to pre-pay for their tokens, if arriving after 6.00pm as a fixed rate then applies. This will help to reduce the volume of traffic queuing at the end of the evening. There are specific parking spaces available for customers with mobility difficulties, these are located on the service road at the front of the theatre. Car park exit codes are available at the Box Office and these are required on departure. Blue badges must be displayed clearly in the vehicle. Those using this area without a badge risk being fined.
