Greening Kroeber Art Studios & Bathrooms a marketing campaign designed to create public awareness in Kroeber Hall about the environmental impacts of daily habits
Purpose • To create public awareness in Kroeber Hall about water, energy, paper towel usage, and toxics in art materials through stickers, signage, posters, newsletters, blogs, flyers, and other marketing tools. • To decrease the amount of waste generated and water and energy usages.

Every month, the campaign focuses on a different theme regarding sustainability. Each theme includes a 1. large color poster, 2. matching postcard (with 10 facts & tips), and 3. sustainability board update. The print materials will be posted and distributed around Kroeber while the sustainability board update occurs on the Mezzanine Level.

Execution
Before: Installation of new, permanent signage. Previous signage was printer paper and not durable. Dec/Jan: Purchasing & Reusing

Results End-of-the-year surveys will be handed out to students in May 2012 to measure the change in sustainability awareness.

After: New signs will last longer and less resources will be used in the long run.
Beginning-of-the-year surveys (85 Kroeber respondents) were handed out to students and found that: 86% don’t know the UCB GHG emission target of 1990 levels by 2014. 92% don’t know how to report leaky faucets. 69% don’t know that plastics have recycling numbers. 85% of students don’t know what plastics are recyclable at UCB & in the City of Berkeley.
