myPower at Berkeley Energy Surveys Tailoring Energy Saving Tips for Awareness & Engagement Persistent engagement in energy-efficient behaviors sometimes requires individualized attention to one’s current environment, existing attitudes, and daily practices. As part of UC Berkeley’s Energy Management program, we have initiated an effort to work with individual buildings, labs, and departments to identify and implement customized actions that save energy. By collaborating with students, staff, and faculty our energy management outreach team has developed, through multiple iterations, office and laboratory energy surveys that gauge the current climate of energy use in a specific area and provide a detailed report of observations and outline customized energy reduction strategy for that area. Surveys have been completed for multiple departments. All surveys are distributed to designated building contacts who then share with other occupants. We hope to continue surveying all campus buildings; this will be an ongoing project.
