Mass transit in Fort Collins | COMMUNITY FOCUS
FORT COLLINS MUNICIPAL RAILWAY FARES
Bus Rapid Transit—MAX MAX, the green bus that runs the Mason corridor in Fort Collins, provides efficient service between the north and south ends of town. Using a dedicated guideway with enhanced walking and biking facilities, MAX represents a faster option than standard bus routes, and offers an easier commute than driving. Riders have access to free wi-fi on-board and there is space for a limited number of bicycles. In a planning process expected to run through 2016, The City is examining options for improving transit service along the West Elizabeth Corridor. According to Ms. Belmont, “This could be the next Mason Corridor-like alternative transportation spine, providing MAX-like service and better quality biking and walking facilities.” Tickets and passes may be purchased at all three transit centers, MAX station ticket machines, or purchased through the mail. For MAX, tickets must be purchased ahead of time, but for all other routes, fare may be paid when boarding (cash only). Further fare information, route updates and schedules can be found on the Transfort website (www.ridetransfort.com). Print versions of routes and schedules can be found at any transit center. Those on the go can find information about bus arrival times at specific stops through the Transfort app as well as text and call-in options.

Fort Collins Municipal Railway For those looking for a little bit of history and fun — for their weekend transit options, the Fort Collins Municipal Railway, fondly known as The Trolley, is an excellent option. The Trolley runs along Mountain Avenue between City Park and Old Town Fort Collins every thirty minutes from noon to five o’clock p.m. on summer weekends.
Connecting the Front Range As Fort Collins and the northern Front Range continue to grow, connectivity between communities is ever more important. Fort Collins’ connections to neighboring communities is looking better than ever. FLEX — FLEX offers regional service between Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, and Longmont. This bus service is the product of a regional partnership and is operated by Transfort. Services connect with FLEX partners COLT and RTD, serving Loveland and the Denver/Longmont/Boulder areas, respectively. BUSTANG — BUSTANG, operated by Colorado Department of Transportation, will serve the I-25 and I-70 corridors, connecting Fort Collins and Loveland in the north directly to Denver. The interregional express bus, slated to begin service in July 2015, will connect to Transfort routes at the Downtown Transit Center and Harmony Transportation Transfer Center at Harmony and I-25.
