In fact, in 1985, The Group’s Linda Hopkins and Harvey Nesbitt joined the United Way Board of Directors and the Capital Campaign Committee. In addition to extensive BOD service among Group members, The Group prides itself on supporting United Way as a business. We consistently rank among the region’s top 20 donors to the organization and have partnered on several projects over the years. Since 1996, The Group has raised over $3-million via assorted workplace campaigns. For five years, we have partnered with United Way for Make a Difference Day, to benefit the Larimer County Food Bank. And in 2014, we raised over $210,000 for United Way’s annual giving campaign. In addition to these specific projects, The Group serves as a Cornerstone Partner for United Way of Larimer County, underwriting administrative costs. This allows United Way to stretch individual donation dollars much further, maximizing impact in the community.
WomenGive One of the most recent joint efforts of The Group and United Way partnership is WomenGive, founded in 2006. WomenGive addresses the troubling census data that breaks down single mothers’ struggles to make ends meet. Frequently spending at least half of their income on housing expenses and another third on child care, these women are too-often left with insufficient funds to support education. In response, WomenGive provides scholarships to women and children in need. The WomenGive project also works with The Women’s Foundation of Colorado on state-level policy issues that affect women and their ability to reach and
