FLOORING

With the arrival of Digital Twins, the way we view or attend exhibitions is changing to bring the construction and associated industries into the 21st Century. One such company to embrace this new technology is Northern Ireland based Solvall. At The Hardware Show in April 2022 at Citywest, Dublin, Solvall tasked Digital Media International to use their award-winning technology to create a Digital Twin of their stand at the event. Digital Media International (DMI) were recently awarded the honour of ‘Most Client Focused Digital Marketing Agency’ for Northern Ireland at the UK Enterprise Awards, sponsored by SME News, for their Digital Twin technology in creating a virtual showroom/trade counter for Ridgeway in Belfast. DMI were able to shoot their stand with their 360o camera to create a virtual twin of it that could be used as a virtual showroom, with all of the Solvall product ranges being tagged out for more information, adding video content and a calendar appointment facility for the Solvall team to meet virtually, from anywhere in the UK or Ireland. This ethos enables any company to bring their clients to meet with them in a virtual world, in which they can showcase all of their products, hold CPD events and training events. All of their products can be meta tagged to create a virtual shop scenario where the viewer can click to buy and even get their order delivered direct to site, from the comfort of their office using their tablet or mobile phone. Spaces on screens and blank spaces on walls can be utilised to host video content. The applications can be applied to a variety of scenarios such as virtual pods, property and events. With a built-in measuring tape, properties can be quantified for ease of specification for the amount of paint for a wall or ceiling or flooring or carpet needed to cover the space required. The software can also integrate
