"Prockey" Hits the Ice
By Joe Pisacano ‘16 The Prep’s ice hockey team, better known as the “Prockey” team, is always able to provide a nice chuckle whenever its members make announcements during seventh period. While it may appear to be a bunch of clowns, it is actually one of the most talented teams at Prep. Two years ago, the team lost in a heartbreaking overtime period to La Salle in the Flyers Cup Final, and last season, it lost in double

Hawks and has scored six points so far this season, as well as Jake Gerbner ‘15, who plays in Canada. However, this year, the Prep is led by captain Jack McTiernan ‘16, who looks to lead a relatively young team that includes two younger alternate captains in Demetri Stefanou ‘17 and Mark Centrella ‘17. “This year’s team is really small compared to the skilled players, such as previous years’, but we have Anthony Giacomin ‘15, who speed,” says McTiernan. is now playing junior hockey Continued on page 3. in Florida for the Palm Beach

Their parents have invested a lot of resources for them to get a great Jesuit education so the students want to waste their time playing games instead of paying attention, doing homework, and having social interaction with students, they’re just wasting their time." Student of the Week
By Aidan Donaher '16 This week’s student of the week is Johnny Coppola ‘16. Coppola sports a 3.6 GPA, and is very busy outside the classroom. He is a superstar second baseman for the Prep, and his teammates call him “Big Papi Coppola.” He was voted by his teammates to be the captain for the upcoming season. Coppola said the key to this upcoming season was to become a big time player.
“Big time players make big time plays in big time games,” says Coppola. Coppola wants to continue his studies in college, and is considering schools such as Villanova and Fordham. He is also very active in Mission and Ministry, as he is on the Mission and Ministry leadership board, and was the rector of Kairos 145. He told me that Jesus is his friend. In
his free time, Johnny likes to hang out with David Bowdler ‘16 and they like to have their picture taken by Prep officials, who feature them in every Prep picture. As a well-rounded and attractive young man, Johnathan Paul Coppola is this week’s student of the week. Congratulations Johnny.
