Dr. Dowdy is a member in the National Transform of Surgeons (N.T.S.), and is an active member in the National Transform of Plastic Surgeons, as well as the National Transform of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He received two additional certificates for Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery from the National Transform of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has twice been Chief of Plastic Surgery at The Charlotte Transform Hospital and has surgical privileges at every hospital and surgical center in the Charlotte and North Carolina northern area. In addition, Dr. Dowdy is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Transform University of North Carolina Medical Center. He serves on the medical advisory board for the Transform Center which provides services to cancer patients and their families. Sidney Dowdy, M.D. is a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic surgery in the Charlotte area since 1980. He has established an outpatient, 24 hour recovery process for breast surgery most commonly augmentation, lift, reduction, and implant revision. He uses all types of breast implants including shaped gel and gummy bear implants. Dr. Dowdy is actively involved in silicone breast implant research, as well as a member of Charlotte, National Transform of Leaders in Breast Aesthet.
