I have known Lynette since 2013 when we met in a book group called FB Pageturners. It has been a great joy to watch her go from reader to being a published author. I sat down with her to discuss Unveiled: The Companion book.

King Brooks: Congrats..on your companion guide to ‘Unveiled.’ Tell the readers about it?

Lynette Shelton: Thank you so much King! Unveiled: Going Beyond the Pain is a study and companion to our first book, Unveiled: Unmasking the Pain. Our readers will learn different ways to face and deal with the many issues that can keep them bound, sad, broken, depressed, and hurting. The book addresses the art and beauty of forgiveness which will open up the way for seeking a renewed mind and peaceful spirit. These powerful writings will usher in meditation and words of encouragement along with a space to write down thoughts, ideas, and suggestions in taking the steps needed to be Unveiled. Both books can be found on Amazon.com.

KB: Where did the inspiration for this companion guide come from?

LS: I can’t take the credit. All hail goes to Audra Blyther of Divine Treasure Publishing is the brains behind the Unveiled Movement. Audra is a passionate and positive force in her community, uplifting women to live Unveiled and beyond their pain. This companion follows the first book due to a need to keep the conversation and healing going while letting go of the masks that so many of us wear due to pain and suffering. The companion is also a study guide to allow our readers to dig in deeper to pull back the dark layers of their lives to become Unveiled. For this mission alone, I am grateful to be a contributor. Thank you Audra.

KB: Please give the readers a brief bio on you and as a writer/person?

LS: I am 59 years old and a native of Tacoma, Washington currently residing in Miami, Florida. My writing journey started in 2003. I was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety in 2016, but I openly admit that I have struggled in silence since the age of 16 after the passing of her mother. Mental health is one of my passions.

I’m an introverted blogger, avid reader, an author, a mother of 2, a grandmother of 8. I love ice cream, watching PBS, and cop shows. I’m a sucker for all manners of the uniform.

KB: Will your next book be a solo work?

LS: Yes. I have several works in progress, but my first published piece will be a memoir with an estimated publish date in 2022.

KB: How can readers discover more about you and your work?

LS: Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/UnveiledUnmasking-The-Pain-334790527019617 Unveiledunmaskingthepain.weebly.com Twitter @trusthim4u_LS Facebook @https://www.facebook.com/Theuniqueview/ My Blog @Theuniqueview.blogspot.com Lynette.shelton88@gmail.com

KB: When this life is said and done. What do you want your legacy to be?

LS: Determination always trumps a setback because delays are NEVER denials.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my gift.
