THEHOLYART MAGAZINE

Virtual reality (VR) is transforming the art world, offering new ways to create, exhibit, and experience art. One of its greatest advantages is the removal of physical limitations. In VR galleries, artists can display works of any size or shape, from enormous sculptures to immersive environments, offering unprecedented creative freedom. This also allows curators to design spacious, flexible exhibitions that are impossible in traditional settings VR also democratizes access to art. Viewers from around the world can explore exhibitions without traveling, breaking down geographical barriers Artists, especially those from underrepresented regions, can reach a global audience, expanding the visibility of their work
The interactive and immersive nature of VR adds another layer of engagement. Viewers can interact with art in ways that are impossible in a physical gallery, creating a more personal and emotional connection to the work VR also offers practical benefits: it’s costeffective, sustainable, and enables galleries to host exhibitions without the logistical challenges of transporting or maintaining physical artworks
As VR technology advances, so will its potential in the art world, making virtual exhibitions a powerful and innovative tool for artists, galleries, and audiences alike
At The Holy Art we are quick to adapt and will be hosting VR shows in our physical locations soon!
The Holy Art Gallery started of the new month of September with a bang! Located in the city of Amsterdam. From the 5th - 8th September 2024, viewers had the pleasure of experiencing an exhibition made up of a diverse group of contemporary artists. We thank all the participating creatives, our wonderful visitors and all others who came together to make the show happen!
The Holy Art Gallery recently had the pleasure of hosting a group exhibition in the beautiful Pairs, starting from the 13th September 2024.
The buzzing of conversation amongst artists, friends, and family who came to view a range of work from some of the most accomplished international artists on the scene made the warm gallery space even more inviting.
A skilful, surrealism and graffiti artist and well reconganised tattoo artits. Blurring the lines between imagination and reality.
Enric Puyalto's work is deeply rooted in the oil on canvas technique, it is a vibrant testimony of the transformative power of art. With his unique style, he immerses us in a world where surrealist references come to life.
His paintings are a fascinating play of abstract shapes, color and light, creating a visual universe that challenges our perception and invites us to explore new dimensions.
Each of its pieces is an experiment in itself. Enric lets himself be carried away by the spontaneity of the moment, allowing himself to play directly on the canvas without restrictions. This free and bold approach allows him to create works that are as unique as they are impactful.
In summary, Enric Puyalto offers us a great visual experience, his art is a journey into the unknown, an invitation to see beyond the obvious and find beauty and meaning in the unexpected.
Can you tell us how you began your creative journey?
Since I can remember, I have been drawing and enjoying art It has always been my escape since I was very young. I would draw at all hours; paper and pencil were my constant companions, becoming my faithful friends. It wasn’t until high school that I dedicated myself entirely to painting and realized that I possessed a creative drive and an overwhelming need to surpass myself by telling my own stories, featuring the quirky characters that accompanied me daily It was at that moment that I understood I truly wanted to dedicate myself to painting
We were drawn to your work for its individuality; where do you find inspiration for the surreal worlds you create?
I consider myself a very imaginative person, and what I enjoy most is creating and fully exploring my imaginative world My dreams, experiences, and the people
who have been part of my life are constant sources of inspiration Sometimes, in the least expected moments, an idea arises out of nowhere; at other times, I close my eyes andtake advantage of that trance state where consciousness and dreams intertwine I also love sharing with those around me and capturing their experiences in my work.
Are there any particular artists that have influenced your work?
I have never had a specific reference. My mind is a collection of constant stimuli from social media, the frenetic pace of the big city, and my own concerns. Naturally, I have absorbed a great deal of art throughout my life, and it is very difficult for me to name them all, as I feel they are in constant evolution Albert Bonet, my life partner and friend, has inspired me greatly The landscapes of Salvador Dalí, the cubism of Picasso, among others, have also left a mark on me All my works are ultimately a part of me and emerge from deep within
We saw that, in addition to your canvas paintings, you are also a talented graffiti artist. What differences do you find between these two mediums?
There are many differences. Before I started painting graffiti, I experienced a significant block with painting. It was when I began exploring the streets with my friends and they encouraged me to leave my mark on the walls that I freed myself from prejudices and found an escape in the murals. Graffiti liberates me; I do not seek absolute perfection, though I do seek harmony In painting, I always try to create a more refined and precise work; each painting represents my maximum potential, while in graffiti, I only think about liberating myself.
Moreover, you are also a recognized tattoo artist! How do you balance all these creative outlets and maintain your inspiration when creating?
I began tattooing out of a job necessity, and it evolved into exploring a completely different world with infinite possibilities. The skin becomes a canvas, which I find fascinating. Right now, I am very focused on realism; however, when a client entrusts me with their skin to capture my world, it is a truly rewarding experience
You recently exhibited with us at our Future Stars - Barcelona showcase in July. We would love to hear more about your experience and any highlights you have from the exhibition!
It was a very pleasant experience where I felt warmly welcomed by the team at THE HOLY It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with international artists, share our art, and step out of my comfort zone It is always enriching to share art with others.
Finally, let us know what creative projects you have going on at the moment and what’s coming up in the future for you!
At the moment, I have my own workshop where I can work, and I am very excited to continue creating and liberating myself artistically. Gradually, wonderful projects are taking shape in collaboration with neighborhoods in Barcelona alongside other urban artists. A solo exhibition is being developed in the city that promises to be very special.
A unique digital artist, who refers to the path of technology to advan
Your practice encompasses many mediums, and the piece you exhibited with the gallery was made using 3D printing technology. How did you first get into using this within your art?
I’ve always been more comfortable working digitally and in CAD than on paper, and I sometimes refer to CAD as my “digital sketchbook " I initially got into 3D printing as a way to extend the sculptural aspects of my work and bring to life some of the more ambitious ideas for projects I had in mind. The technology allows for a new level of precision and creativity that wasn’t as easily achievable with traditional methods. It allows me to turn more abstract concepts, like the question mark, into tangible, three-dimensional forms. I’ve had people ask me, “Is 3D printing really art?” and I can understand where they are coming from given that the physical production of the pieces is done by a machine, but there really is a lot of creative work and iteration that goes into the pieces before I can start producing a sculpture with the 3D printer Even after the pieces come off the printer, there is still a lot of meticulous postprocessing work that has to be done by hand, from sanding to painting and assembly.
You have also utilised CGI and VFX as a medium how do you see these kinds of pieces being exhibited in contemporary galleries? Do you think this work can exist alongside more traditional mediums, such as painting and sculpture?
Absolutely. I think CGI and VFX can coexist with more traditional mediums in gallery spaces especially through the use of video screens or projection. I think animated digital art can add another layer of interactivity and immersion, particularly when paired alongside physical works, and this is something I plan to do in the future with my own work to enhance an exhibition experience.
A recurring theme within your work is the ‘question mark’; can you explain further what this motif means to you?
The question mark to me is a symbol of curiosity, uncertainty, and introspection. I see it as something
universal, representing the questions we all face - whether they’re philosophical, emotional, or even mundane In my work, the question mark is more than just a symbol; it’s a vehicle for exploring different states of mind and emotions It invites the viewer to reflect on their own personal uncertainties and how they confront them My works tend to portray a type of emotion or mental state through the formation or colours of the question marks. I usually come up with a clever title or catchphrase first that’s linked to an emotion and/or includes a word related to "thinking," "questions,” or the mind, and will then create the piece based off of that.
While you are an artist practicing in London, you also have close ties to Korea and Korean culture. Can you explain a little more about the differences between these two audiences?
I think London and Korean audiences engage with work in different ways, influenced by their distinct cultural backgrounds. In Korea, there’s often a deeper focus on symbolism and the use of abstract forms, as well as a greater interest in digital and technology-based art, which is prominent in my practice London, being more of a global art hub, has a broader spectrum of influences and styles, and I’ve found that the audience here tends to connect more with the emotional and conceptual layers of the work. More importantly though, I think my work will resonate differently with people regardless of their culture but more so based on their own life experiences and mentality. Both audiences bring a unique perspective, and I feel
fortunate to be able to engage with such a diverse range of viewers. I’m hoping to exhibit in Korea too in the near future, as a large majority of my audience is based there.
We see a lot of references to pop art, as well as street art and graffiti, especially within the bold colours and graphics in your paintings. Which artists and art movements inspire your practice?
Pop art and street art have definitely influenced my work, especially in terms of colour and how I use visual language to tell a story. Artists like Keith Haring and Kaws inspire my use of bold, graphic imagery. Kaws, in particular, with his blend of pop culture and fine art, resonates with me as his work bridges the gap between high art and the everyday, much like the way I approach my own pieces. More recently, I’ve discovered artists such as Josh Sperling, who, like myself, also utilises modern technology such as CNC cutting to create large, abstract yet precise sculptural reliefs, and it’s definitely motivating to see artists like Sperling working in a similar realm and becoming so soughtafter.
Finally, please tell us more about your plans for the future! What exciting things do you have coming up at the moment?
At the moment, I’m working on new pieces for a collection titled “KNOW WORR?ES." I’ve recently launched my website and alongside released a product called “KEYR?NG” that incorporates a small art piece into everyday life Those orders have been keeping me very busy! I share most of my process and behind the scenes of what I’m working on through my Instagram account, so stay tuned!

Carla Siso is an illustrator, artist, and the creative force behind Dovemania!
She specializes in original, fun, and colorful hand-drawn illustrations of doves, each piece designed to spread messages of peace, love, and joy. Her journey with Dovemania! began a few years ago when she rescued a dove chick and brought it into her home. During a period of depression, Carla found solace in the presence of the dove. Although the bird eventually passed away, it has since become her magnificent inspiration, driving her to create Dovemania! and share its uplifting themes with the world.
What initially inspired you to become an artist, and how did you develop your unique style?
I have always liked art, drawing, cartoons, movies, animation ....
When I was kid I used to draw the cartoons while watching them on TV
So I suppose fate wanted me to do this , a tribute to my dove, creating original, colorful and fun illustrations of doves, to spread a message of peace, love and joy with them
Do you have any rituals or routines th t h l you get into a creative mindset when s new project?
I like swimming, it gives me peace , help better physically and mentally, and helps me have a more creative mind A walking through a park, watching birds helps me a lot to think about myself creative projects
Can you share more the inspiration Dovemania?
It all started a few years ago, When I dove chick on the ground and took it to my house At that time, I was going depression and when I was sad, I leaned o her She passed away but she was my i to create Dovemania!
What specific elements in your illustrations help conveythethemesofpeace, love, andjoy?Canyou describe a piece that you feel best represents these themes?
Doves have always been a symbol of peace and love around the world
So I make illustrations of doves on various themes , for example I have an illustration about love, visually I draw a couple of doves in love, which also represent love and fidelity for life Also, for example, my life motto is “Live and Let live”, and I have an illustration that represents that, peace for all.
Can you share a particular project or photograph thatstandsouttoyouandexplainthecreative processbehindit?
I draw illustrations of doves of various themes, but I also sometimes express myself drawing There is an illustration titled “Heartache”, which for example I based on my own life and I wanted to represent the dove as me , in a sad situation full of pain, that pain breaks the heart and I represent it with an arrow straight to the heart
How do you incorporate feedback from critics and audiencesintoyourartisticpractice, andhowdo you balance this feedback with your own artistic intuition?
The truth is that , since I started my work, the support and affection of people has been very good, and it is clear that it is positive for me, it makes me happy, but equally I know what I want to do and my own intuition about my artwork
any setbacks or creative blocks you may encounter?
I have always been very imaginative, and I get new ideas every day, but when there is a blockage I try not to think, relax and for example take a walk , meet with friends, watch movies, practice sports, etc.
How do you feel about exhibiting your artworkswithTheHolyArtGallery?
It is a great opportunity for me to exhibit my work in differents places around the world and for more people know my work and enjoy Dovemania!
Looking ahead, what are your long-term goals and aspirations as an artist, and how do you planto achievethem?
I try to think day by day, but my goal is that more people around the world know Dovemania! and my artwork , and falls in love with doves
Also I would love to collaborate with brands or companies to create original, colorful and fun products that can spread Dovemania! joy
What role does emotion play in your creative process, and and how do you aim to evoke specific feelingsorreactionsfromthosewhoviewyour artworks?
I could say that my emotions are very important in my artwork, because I try to convey my feelings through it I try to create artworks that visually attract the viewer and cause an emotion of joy, fun or sadness, depending the illustration

are valued, using humour, wit and an irreverent attitude to tackle thorny issues head on. Given the extent to which submerged expectations govern our society and their increasing negative effects on mental health, she strongly believes that if these discourses are confronted positively, societal expectations could, once again, become a motivation for success and happiness.
The exhibiting piece, “In a Man’s World” daringly invites you to ponder its unique form: a pearl condom. With a playful and humorous nod to gender equality and women’s empowerment, it sparks thoughtful reflection and conversation
