Preschool Is the First Step to a Better Future

Unfortunately, some households can’t afford to send their children to preschool. Sioux Falls Hope Coalition was created to provide free preschool to kids from those families. Because a child without hope is a child without a future.

According to research published by the American Economic Review, children who attend preschool are 3% more likely to complete high school and 39% more likely to finish college. As adults, they are more likely to have a professional job and much less likely to live in poverty or require public assistance.

In addition, preschool provides a strong foundation for learning and social success by helping develop critical skills prior to kindergarten. Preschool stu dents gain valuable self-confidence and learn necessary social skills like how to communicate and interact with others and how to display appropriate behavior in a classroom. They also develop vital motor skills like using scissors, holding pencils, and writing letters and numbers.

Sioux Falls Hope Coalition provides free preschool to children from limited-income households. They believe every child deserves hope and the opportunity to start their education with a solid foundation for future success.
