new spring display unveiled The Bellagio Conservatory

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens transports guests to a romantic European garden as it welcomes spring with its new display, “Giardino Dell’ Amore.” Through May 20, visitors can revel in the splendor of the season as love blooms around them with glamorous floral creations, flowing fountains and a vibrant tunnel of love.

your kiddos do their own thing. Even those hard-to-please teenagers will don smiles after time here. If that’s not enough entertainment, some of the best burgers in town are right next door at Dock 17.

Located along Interstate 24 only 45 minutes from Nashville, Clarksville makes an ideal road trip for many travelers. The city’s historic/hip vibe and welcoming hospitality is sure to create a memorable experience. Find more things to do at visitclarksvilletn.com.

A collaborative effort between designer Ed Libby and the talented Bellagio Horticulture team, “Giardino Dell’ Amore” is an immersive experience that pays homage to Bellagio’s Italian inspiration. The display engages all five senses: a custom “L’Amore” scent fills the air with hints of orange blossom while a dreamy soundtrack sets the ambi ance amidst the visual delights of the display. The Garden Table stimulates taste and touch with a distinct dining experience at the heart of the Conservatory.

West Bed

Visitors can enjoy a romantic stroll through a garden of timeless beauty in the West Bed, featur ing an enchanting pavilion-style gazebo and an elegant European fountain. Under the gaze of two joyful cherub statues playing Cupid, two young love birds float on the water as their long necks merge to form a heart. Rose-covered lanterns accompany beautiful white wisteria trees standing tall as majestic reminders of love’s strength and endurance. Tucked in the corner of this bed is The Garden Table, the resort’s most exclusive dining experience.

North Bed

The North Bed features a majestic fountain adorned with the iconic Bellagio “B” encircled beneath by a

manicured boxwood hedge. A 14-foot-tall sun representing life, energy and positivity radiates light through the garden scene while colorful koi fish swim playfully in the glistening pond. Gazing deeper, guests will discover a tiered, 17-foot-tall fountain surrounded by LED theatrical screens, presenting images of vibrant fountains with flowing waters. Creating a peaceful scene of beauty, the gardens are lined with classic green boxwood shapes, live trees with oranges and orange blossoms signifying good luck and health.

East Bed

Four floral heart-shaped arches stretch across the East Bed providing a larger-than-life pathway, perfect for sharing a symbolic journey of romance. A beautifully reclaimed European-style centerpiece fountain greets guests in the center of a distinct “Tunnel of Love.” Glowing softly above the romantic pathway are five patina-colored copper chandeliers, hanging as reminders of the luminous feeling of a new or renewed love for ourselves and those we treasure most.

South Bed

A magnificent European-style white marble gazebo draped in multicolored flora sits at the center of the South Bed beneath the outstretched branches of wisteria trees. Floating peacefully upon the gentle water is a “dream boat” with a champagne presentation, reminiscent of the romantic splendor of Lake Como in the Northern Italian town of Bellagio, the original inspiration for the Las Vegas resort. Presiding over the captivating moment sits a regal white peacock representing a promise of rejuvenation, selfacceptance and romance.

Myrtle Beach

s we bid farewell to winter and welcome the longer, sun-soaked days ahead, Visit Myrtle Beach is inviting travelers of all interests, ages and abilities to take a trip to “America’s Favorite Beach” this spring. With 60 miles of breathtaking Atlantic coastline and endless unforgettable experiences, including an array of brand-new offerings, there are always memories to be made at The Beach during this exciting season.

At The Beach, S.P.R.I.N.G. stands for:

S: Sunny Skies and Outdoor Activities

Myrtle Beach enjoys over 200 days of sunshine a year, and its 60 miles of stunning shoreline are the perfect place to catch some springtime rays and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of ocean waves rolling in.

Beyond the beach, step aboard a variety of water vessels (pontoons, riverboats, airboats, speedboats, and even catamarans!) for a relaxing or high-speed deep dive into the unique landscapes, waterways and fishing opportunities

in the Myrtle Beach area. Discover a multitude of flora and fauna that call this area home and be on the lookout for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins along the way!

P: Perusing Local Art and Performances

Launched in September 2022, the Visit Myrtle Beach Arts & Gallery Trail is an unexpected look into the destination brimming with color and culture around every corner. The trail boasts more than 100 art-filled attractions, including oceanfront sculptures, enormous photoworthy murals, quaint working studios and even a secret underground passage filled with art. Stretching from Little River and North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island, visitors will be guided to many of the Grand Strand’s lesser-known areas, such as historic downtown Conway, the quaint “Little Golden Town” of Aynor and the newly minted Arts & Innovation District.

The ongoing revitalization and development in Myrtle Beach’s Arts & Innovation District is gaining steam with

the relocation of the new Good Vibes Surf & Skate shop and opening of the Grand Strand Brewing Company, alongside recently established restaurants, galleries and retailers. Future developments will include new stores, restaurants and even a gym, as well as the restoration of the Broadway Theater into a 300-seat performing arts center.

R: Ridiculously Fresh Seafood

From casual eateries and fusion cuisine to fine dining without pretension, the Grand Strand boasts a plethora of mouthwatering culinary experiences. Fresh seafood abounds in the Myrtle Beach region, and there is always an opportunity to sample the catch of the day around every corner.

A sister restaurant to the beloved Bubba’s Fish Shack, Bubba’s Fish Camp is a new eatery that offers a beach-inspired menu with fried and grilled seafood along with meats smoked in-house, conveniently located right across from Broadway at the Beach.

Murrells Inlet is a small waterfront fishing village on the south end of the Grand Strand - “o-fish-ially” dubbed South Carolina’s seafood capital - with one of the richest histories in South Carolina. Today, the Murrells Inlet Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and offers an array of restaurants with stunning waterfront views.

I: Incredible Family Adventures

Ripley’s Aquarium is introducing all-new experiences in Myrtle Beach this spring. These exciting, familyfriendly attractions include the notable Sloth Valley habitat – bringing guests face-to-face with the adorable, two-toed species – as well as the Ripley’s Illusion Lab, Ripley’s Crazy Golf, Ripley’s Mirror Maze expansion and Ripley’s Haunted Adventure.

Brand new to Myrtle Beach’s Coastal Grand Mall, Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play is a 52,500 square-foot family entertainment complex that offers an immersive, aug-

mented reality bowling experience, as well as an arcade, a multi-story laser tag arena, axe throwing and more.

N: Nighttime Entertainment

The soundtrack found along The Beach includes much more than peaceful waves, it also thrums with beats from hundreds of live music gigs on weekends. From scenic stages and world-renowned music halls, the Grand Strand comes alive with music from up-and-coming artists. If grabbing a mic is your thing, join Julio Navarro as he tours (and sings!) at the area’s best bars and restaurants on the YouTube series Myrtle Beach Karaoke.

An immersive musical experience at The Beach wouldn’t be complete without taking in one of the multitude of shows that shine along the Strand. What began with Calvin Gilmore and the Carolina Opry in 1986, has grown to include nearly two dozen theater productions.

The Alabama Theatre of North Myrtle Beach’s new production, ICONIC, is a cutting-edge, brand-new on-stage and in-air show with visual elements and a state-of-the-art video wall unlike anything the Grand Strand has ever seen. In celebration of the theater’s 30th anniversary, ICONIC features widely recognized Country music chartbusters, Classic Rock anthems, Broadway, and Pop power ballads, and is a must-see this spring.

G: Great Accommodations

Completed in late 2022, the $65 million renovation of two of Kingston Resorts’ oceanfront properties (The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort) includes fully updated accommodations, two waterparks, and an island-themed outdoor pool and dining space.

Springhill Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront By Marriott is a new dual-branded oceanfront resort that stands 26 stories tall and boasts beautiful rooftop amenities, including outdoor seating complete with fire pits. Additional outdoor amenities include a ground-level pool and lazy river.

Location is Everything

Nestled in the picturesque foothills of Arizona’s Santa Catalina Mountains, the breathtaking beauty of the resort’s natural surroundings is the inspiration behind the entire renovation. Each of the property’s generously sized Deluxe and Premier guestrooms have been reborn with a bright and modern Southwestern residential feel. For a more private experience, 51 Casitas and Hacienda Suites lining the greens have been masterfully redesigned, offering secluded

patios with serene views of the surrounding courses and lush landscape to create the ultimate golf-lover’s retreat.

“This long-anticipated renovation marks a whole new era for Omni Tucson National Resort,” said general manager Michael Maruca. “The entire property has been transformed, inside and out. Guests will be blown away by our Casitas and Hacienda Suites and we cannot wait to welcome visitors and locals alike to experience our new Mokara Spa and differentiated dining outlets.”

True Southwestern Experience

Beyond the refreshed accommodations, a relaxed Southwestern ambiance permeates the entire resort. From the moment guests arrive they are welcomed by the colors of the surrounding desert landscape with a palette that reflects the day-to-night transformation of the magnificent scenery. Inside the resort, no expense was spared to redefine the Omni Tucson National experience.

Inspired Wellness at the All-New Mokara Spa

A fully reimagined dining experience comprises three new restaurant and lounge concepts, several refreshed spaces, and local favorites like Bob’s Steak & Chop House – the Arizona outpost of the Texas staple synonymous with fine steaks for nearly 20 years. Additional new venues include: The Peak, a dazzling new lounge inviting guests to relax over cocktails. The racetrackstyle bar is the centerpiece of the venue, which offers both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Sweet Water pool and mountain views – an alluring spot to gather after a day of meetings, golf, sightseeing or relaxation.

Terra Cotta Café, a casual coffee market welcoming guests to start their day with a full range of coffee, tea and pastries for breakfast on the go or for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Desert Farmer, welcoming guests for breakfast with a quintessentially modern Southwestern vibe, menu items range from smothered waffles with jalapeño and cumin bacon to deep-dish quiche with turkey chorizo.

Legends Bar & Grill, an upgraded nineteenth-hole

experience, featuring art and memorabilia that pay homage to the golf course design with mementos from the past.

“The reimagination of Omni Tucson National Resort has put food at the forefront so that more memories around the table will be made,” said Executive Chef Jonathan Stutzman. “The additions of Desert Farmer, The Peak, & Terra Cotta Café to our existing Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Legends, & Sweet Water Terrace give us the opportunity to offer a quintessential experience of the Sonoran Southwest from a true Culinary perspective all over the property.”

new property expands brand footprint Hilton Monterrey

Hilton announced the opening of Hilton Monterrey, located in the business and financial district of the capital city of Nuevo León, Mexico.

With an emphasis on efficient design and conscious travel, from its farm-to-table restaurant and energy-conserving technology, the 225-room property provides a modern urban oasis with the intuitive service and world-class amenities of Hilton Hotels & Resorts to deliver an exceptional stay for mindful business and leisure travelers.

“As our ninth Hilton property in this thriving metropolis and industrial hub, we are delighted to debut Hilton Monterrey as part of our growing portfolio in Mexico,” said Jorge Giannattasio, senior vice president and head of operations, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton. “We look forward to welcoming guests and locals alike to this stylish hotel where they can experience our elevated

accommodations and enjoy a cocktail at the rooftop bar, served with our signature hospitality for which Hilton is known.”

Perfect Location

Hilton Monterrey is conveniently located just 23 miles from Mariano Escobedo International Airport in the heart of the commercial district and connected to Galerías Valle Oriente Mall. The modern city of Monterrey lies north of the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountain range.

Although historically known as an industrial city, Monterrey is rich in history and art, with the hotel located five miles away from the Mexican History Museum, Paseo Santa Lucía, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Fundidora Park.

“We’re thrilled to bring Hilton Hotels & Resorts to Monterrey, growing our flagship brand’s ever-expanding presence and best-in-class hospitality offerings in

Mexico,” said Leonard Gooz, global brand head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. “Hilton Monterrey offers thoughtful service, energizing, inviting spaces beautifully designed to reflect the destination, locally influenced dining options and memorable meetings and events, delivering an exceptional stay for business and leisure travelers alike.”

Accommodations with Inspired Design

Under the creation of world-renowned hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), Hilton Monterrey’s design concept highlights the city’s contrast of urban architecture and its surrounding natural beauty. A neutral palette offset by dark contrasting tones and elements of misty blue reflects the area’s beautiful landscape. Elements of stone, wood and metals combine to create a tranquil ambiance for relaxation or work.

Hilton Monterrey’s 225 rooms offer guests a choice of unobstructed city skyline views or sweeping mountain views paired with amenities that deliver the comfort and convenience for which Hilton is known, including complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, 55-inch flat-panel HDTVs, a dedicated work desk, rainfall shower, ample closet space and more. The design places high importance on energy efficiency, from heat recovery systems to save natural gas, to water-saving toilet tanks and showers, and an automation system that maintains the rooms at a certain temperature when guests are out exploring the city.

The elegantly appointed presidential suite represents the height of sophistication at Hilton Monterrey with its floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious living area, kitchenette, well-appointed king bed, desk for a quiet work area, access to the Executive Lounge, and oversized, modern bathroom with a free-standing soaking tub. Dining

to Inspire the Senses

Hilton Monterrey is home to three onsite dining experiences for guests and locals alike. Chef Alejandro González leads Hilton Monterrey’s culinary vision using

innovative techniques and creating experiences that go beyond the senses with dishes inspired by the traditional cuisine of Mexico and grounded on sustainable practices and respect of the seasonality of the local ingredients.

Farm-to-table seasonal restaurant Härth is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving local and international cuisine with sustainable ingredients from local and regional vendors. Dishes that will tantalize the taste buds include shrimp ravioli with spicy tuna tartar in a Huancaína sauce and Tetela, a triangular corn tortilla filled with duck confit, breaded egg yolk and pea sprouts, served over homemade mole. The hotel’s signature Härth Bar, located adjacent to Härth, serves all-day fresh cocktails with seating available on its terrace. On the rooftop, guests can discover Wander, the hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge serving up the best views in the city along with cocktails and a special selection of international street food.

Flexible Meetings and Events Space

With eight meeting spaces spanning over 12,000 square feet, Hilton Monterrey’s flexible event space can accommodate a variety of settings from small social gatherings to large business conferences.

Venues include an exquisite pre-function foyer and outdoor terrace, the triple-height, 24-foot ceiling Magnolia ballroom that can host up to 600 attendees, a boardroom and individual meeting rooms named after native trees of Nuevo León, all with onsite catering support available.

San Miguel de Allende

a true bucket-list destination

an Miguel de Allende has been on my bucket list of places to visit for several years now. I was so glad I could finally visit because it was such a dream. Especially since it’s been named the best and kindest city in the world by Conde Naste

With its cobblestoned streets dripping in flowers and colorfully painted walls, intimate boutique hotels, the chicest of rooftop restaurants, art galleries, and local design shops just give you all the feels.

San Miguel de Allende is a small, charming, hilly town in Mexico (population of about 150,000) that is located 270km northwest of Mexico City. Unlike other more popular Mexican beach destinations, San Miguel de Allende is entirely landlocked and is at a very high elevation. In the early 20th century the small town of San Miguel was in danger of becoming a nonexistent town, but thanks to the opening of the renowned Instituto Allende (a visual arts school) in 1950, the city developed a booming art scene that drew in people from all over the world.

Today, the city continues to thrive and its flourishing art scene has become a place for bohemian expats and artists who want to settle in Mexico. In recent years, gastronomy has also started to take centerstage in San Miguel aided by the town’s lush surrounding farmlands and vineyards. Today, San Miguel is a popular weekend retreat for Mexicans, a hot spot for weddings, and an attractive destination for international visitors

Having traveled all over the world, I have never experienced such a small town with so many options for boutique hotels, resorts, and places to stay throughout the city. While in San Miguel I stayed at Casa Quebrada Boutique Hotel, a quaint 4-star boutique hotel with only 10 rooms. Each room is unique and different, some with fountains

and the cutest balconies. The hotel was the perfect place to enjoy a stay of peace, comfort, and excellent quality. It has a perfect location where you can enjoy the cultural diversity and characteristic traditions of the city. A short walk to the center and/or square and everything you may need or see is just steps away.

It used to be an old family home that was transformed into a boutique hotel, each room is completely different with the same Moroccan-colonial touch. They also have a

Boca Ciega Greek restaurant inside with a beautiful atmosphere and an amazing menu.

San Miguel de Allende, being Mexico’s bestkept secret, you’ll be able to soak it all up in 2 or 3 days. There are many magical things to do in San Miguel de Allende but the best is definitely just wandering around, exploring, and seeing what you manage to find on every corner. To get you started here are some of the best things to do in San Miguel, our favorite activities that you don’t want to miss.

Admire the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel & the Central Square: One of the true architectural gems of San Miguel de Allende if not the whole of Mexico is the stunning,neo-gothic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel. Stare at it and take it all in. It’s breathtaking from afar and up close. Make sure to see it when it’s nighttime and everything is lit up. It will take your breath away.

Walk around the city center: One of the best things to do in San Miguel de Allende is to simply go everywhere and

explore without a plan or a map. It’s hard to get lost in the relatively small central area, and it’s the perfect city to poke your head in and be in awe of what you see and discover.

Visit the Local Markets: For discount souvenirs and encounters with the locals, head to the very authentic local markets of San Miguel and Ignacio Ramirez. Here you’ll see the locals going about their daily lives and ladies selling food like fruit and vegetables. You’ll also find shoes, hats, cheeses and more.

Explore the best rooftop bars: San Miguel de Allende is definitely top fiver for having the best rooftops I’ve ever been to. Getting a drink or a bite to eat in this city while watching the sun goes down, is hands down, MAGICAL. Lavanda Cafe: If you want some good vibes, the best coffee in the city and live music, go here. The vibe was to die for and I definitely recommend the Lavender Latte which once again, was ‘chef’s kiss’. Cool thing to note is that they work with a number of different national roasts and beans from Veracruz to Oaxaca as well.

Fly over the City in a Hot Air Balloon: Even though we did not do this, it is extremely popular thing to do in this town. Find yourself a global company in the area that offers exclusive sunrise flights over the fairytale landscape at the most amazing time of day. After the magical experience, you can then have a bite to eat at Rosewood Hotel- the best hacienda turned hotel in the city. An experience of a lifetime, at least it was for me.

the journey continues... The Edge of Adventure

just turned 50 in March. And one thing is for sure: It’s been quite a journey.

I’ve seen beauty and ugliness.

I’ve felt joy and pain.

I’ve been taken from and given to.

I’ve played in the yard as a kid. And I’ve commuted to work in traffic for years.

I’ve held on to things I should’ve let go of. And I’ve walked away from things I would never get back.

I’ve slept like a rock after a hard day’s work. And I’ve laid awake wondering.

I’ve held my newborn son and wondered if I had what it takes to raise him. And I’ve stood in awe at his accomplishments.

I’ve been at home in foreign lands. And I’ve felt like a stranger in my own hometown. I’ve been unkind when I could’ve been patient. And I’ve let things slide that I shouldn’t have.

I’ve listened to live music and smiled because it somehow knew my story.

I’ve been by the hospital bed in uncertain times. And I’ve been in it.

I’ve laughed with friends till my eyes watered.

I’ve loved and lost. And loved again.

I’ve laid on the beach at night and watched the moon slip upward.

I’ve made phone calls I didn’t want to make.

I’ve come to grips with my imperfection.

I’ve buried loved ones and shouldered the responsibility of their memory.

I’ve been afraid at times. And I have learned not to fear.

I’ve been around enough to come face to face with evil. Yet I believe in Good.

I’m 50 now. And like you, my dear friends, I’ve been on a journey. Like you, I’ve been given the chance to do something special with what I’ve been through and what I have left.

I’m thankful to be on this road with all its twists and turns. I’m thankful for you. And I’m ready for the adventure ahead.

mexico offers much more than tequila Hacienda Encantada Resort

While Mexico is beloved as the home of tequila, the country boasts a unique spate of spirits that are gaining traction with travelers. At Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences, the Museo del Tequila is introducing guests to lesserknown alternatives like sotol and bacanora.

Sotol is sourced from the Dasylirion wheeleri shrub, also known as desert spoon. This succulent in the asparagus family is most commonly found in Mexico’s Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila states, though it’s also grown in the U.S. Southwest. Its taste is funkier and earthier than tequila. At the Museo del Tequila, sotol is served in a shot or in a jarrito de barro, a traditional Mexican clay cup. The guest-favorite is Sotol Veneno, which is

cured with rattlesnake venom and aged for up to three months in neutral barrels. Back in the agave family, Bacanora is a Sonora-made sip harvested from a mountain variety of agave that is care fully harvested after six years. The spirit is roasted among volcanic rock and mes quite, lending sweet and smoky notes of caramel, toasted agave and damp earth. Guests can taste 42° Bacanora Joven on site in a cold shot, or in a cocktail.“Part of our dedication to authenticity is showcasing the lesser-known aspects of our culture and cuisine, and we’re always eager to introduce guests to exciting new flavors and experiences,” said Jose Rojas Torres, director of food & beverage at Mexico Grand Hotels.
