MEDICAL EMERGENCIES For AMBULANCE SERVICE call 911. This number contacts the BC Ambulance Dispatch in Victoria. 1. Give the dispatcher full particulars …name, telephone number, location & the problem. Don’t hang up until the dispatcher has hung up. 2. The dispatcher activates the pagers of the ambulance crew on Quadra Island, who immediately phone Victoria for details. 3. The ambulance crew proceeds to the accident/illness scene. (HELP THEM FIND YOU by having someone greet the ambulance, if possible, at your driveway entrance.) 4. Depending on the seriousness of the problem, the patient may be treated on Quadra Island or taken to Campbell River for further medical attention. The non-emergency number for the BC Ambulance Service is: 286-1155. The non-emergency number for BC Ambulance service/Station 170 Quadra Island is 285-3900 and fax 285-3979. The BC Nurse Line is 1-866-215-4700.
