BACKGROUND CMF - Christian Missionary Fellowship is a Registered Faith-Based Organization founded 27 years ago serving the local Maasai communities in Narok and Kajiado Districts. The CHP field Offices are situated in Rift Valley Province of Kenya, Narok District, at Ewaso Ngiro Health Centre premises, south west of Nairobi, 160 kms from Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. CMF-CHP is working with the Maasai Communities mainly in Mara & Osupuko Divisions of Narok District.

GOAL •

To give witness to the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through the provision of wholistic health care services so as to improve the health standards of the Maasai communities and that of the general public at large.

GAPS-NEEDS •

Lack of space for providing quality health care services e.g. inpatients department to cater for critical cases. • Lack of Ambulances Services. • Finances to cater for Staff welfare & Development. • Strengthen Information Communication & Technology (ICT) Systems.

FUTURE PLANS •

Building of an ultra modern mission Hospital to serve the local Maasai community.

Upgrade the other CMF-CHP Satellite Clinics into Health Centres with beds.

All health facilities to have fully equipped laboratories.

All health facilities to be manned by Clinical Officers/Medical Officers.

Establish an income generating Project for the sustainability of the CMF-CHP Clinic system.

CHALLENGES •

Poor infrastructures limiting access to affected individuals and community. • Vastness of the operational area. • High level of illiteracy among the Maasai Community. • Health seeking behaviors-people do not seek health care unless it is critical. Culture Perception: • Inability of women to access health care services unless it is approved by the husbands.
