Walk to end Alzheimer’s raises over $3K This year some of our BSS Staff, Volunteers and Caregivers came together, formed a team, raised funds and then walked in the Martinsburg/Berkeley County Walk to End Alzheimerʼs. All together they raised $3.039.00 that wil go towards Alzheimerʼs Research—hoping to one day find a cure! Thank you to all who supported, donated, and walked with our team—it was a great event and we loved being a part of it! Weʼre already making plans for next year!

We are so grateful for the hard work and dedication both of these groups put into our center. Areas were cleaned, weeded, stained, cleaned out and organized! By the end of high school I had been in 35 states and have run foot races in all 50 states during the time I could run. What is your favorite thing about Martinsburg/Berkeley County? Countryside What activities keep you busy throughout the week? Gardening, exercise classes both taught or taken, and working on my annual recertification requirements for Master Naturalist and Master Gardeners. How long have you been attending the Senior Center? Close to 20 years, as I started in late 1997 or Spring of 1998 What is the farthest you have traveled away from home? Fairbanks, Alaska, Oahu, Hawaii and Vienna, Austria What is your favorite sport? Running, when I could do it What is your favorite food? Ice Cream What does the Senior Center mean to you? We had a GREAT day and as always, Martinsburg and the MSAHF Committee put on a great festival! Donʼt miss us in the upcoming Christmas Parades too—weʼll be the ones in the big white BSS bus!
