BY JEEVES COMES TO BOWNESS To mark its 25th anniversary, the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere has something extra special planned this autumn. The theatre is producing a revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Ayckbourn Broadway musical By Jeeves. Director Alan Ayckbourn will lead his cast of ten into a comedy of errors, with farcical gags, ingenious word play, inventive staging and a six piece band!
This delightfully funny and jovial musical will revel in the misadventures of the 1920s upper classes as they battle to salvage love and cover up embarrassing errors, causing confusion and mayhem galore! Phantom of the Opera lead Nadim Naaman and theatre star Bill Champion headline this production as Bertie Wooster and his dry humored butler Jeeves, putting their wits to the test in a series of misunderstandings which could only be taken from the original P.G. Wodehouse stories. Tickets from £20 are on sale now for matinee and evening performances. Dine-out and light lunch options are available.
